We took six other friends back. This time, for dinner. Again, it was awesome!…read more This time my wife and I ordered the Beef Sambosas and the Chicken Shawarma Hummus. Excellent! The Chicken Shwarma Hummus was better than the lamb we had last time. And their hummus is still the best I've ever had. Anywhere. Our friends ordered the Chicken Shawarma dinner, the Vegetable Platter, the Lamb Kebabs, the Lamb Shank and the Arab Chicken Shwarma. All voted big thumbs ups! Still five stars!

Lamb felt under seasoned but that is the only complaint. Our server was dressed inappropriately, wherein skin tight leggings and a cropped shirt that said "baby mama". Very disturbing and very uncomfortable to be served by that. The restaurant was average busy during my early dinner around 4:30 maybe 4/5 tables. Appetizer came out with our drinks and not even 60 seconds later we had our entrees. Very poor pacing. Also the servers would constantly check their phones in the open behind the bar for some reason. Inside is very nice, I'm 6'5" so being seated at one of the middle tables did not leave me with enough leg room to sit comfortably. Also there are two TVs on opposite sides of the resturant so there is no escaping seeing TV in the background. Overall the taste of the food carries this restaurant and the front of the house really needs to improve.

I'm not gonna question where the heck did my review go to but let me rewrite it again…read more Sultan the Flaming Tandoor is probably the best if not the only Indian Cuisine in the Sherwood area. The food is delicious and the flavors in their curries and other dishes are spectacular. My personal favorite is the Khorma (my memorable dish as my friend Akash would say) every time I could come and either order out or dine in. Akash is the tall guy that works there. Friendly and attentive he always asks how is the food and my response to him is always the same- Wonderful! Some of our other favorites are the Chicken Biryani (very generous portions dine in or takeout), the Korma, butter masala, goat masala and garlic cheese naan (yum)! I also love his they use reliable stainless steel bowls and cups for serving your food and drinks in.

We wanted this to be great. We were looking forward to it. We wanted to find everything good in…read morethis experience. We wanted to have a great source of high-quality and great tasting Indian food nearby. All expectations were high. The reviews were even good to support the expectations. We knew it would be pricey and had the proper expense expectations. Maybe it was an off night. Maybe it was a long weekend and the Sunday night crew was tired. Maybe the ingredient delivery is on Mondays. We ordered the classics - the butter chicken, the aloo palak, chicken tikka masala, etc. - dishes we've had hundreds of times from hundreds of other restaurants (and pubs) so we're very familiar with good, great, and mediocre. Each dish looked the part, but was severely lacking flavor, which is an incredibly surprising thing to say when describing Indian food. While this is indeed a very subjective judgment, the same opinion was shared by our whole table, and even when leftovers were sampled the day after with an opportunity to better infuse, the same judgment awarded. Where was the flavor? Where were the spices? We asked these questions for every dish received. Expectations shattered. As for other criteria, ambience was average for a strip mall dine in restaurant, and with only one waiter, there was significant delay when it got busy - especially with their takeout/delivery demand. So, our search continues for a local solution to satisfy our Indian food fix. Suggestions welcome!

I meant to write a review after I visited the last time, but I forgot, and we just went out to date…read morenight last night and had a similarly awesome experience. I have no idea why this place doesn't have five stars across-the-board. I am hard to please and I loved everything about it. The environment is chill. It feels like an old house on the inside with old pictures, low lighting and a lot to look at. It's not fine dining but I really liked the decor and the vibe. The service was top-notch. Both times we had Sarah, she was not only attentive and friendly, but also went out of her way to make sure our kids were taken care of, put up with our loud family, and accommodated multiple checks for our large group. She was a rockstar. And the food was great! And reasonably priced too. The first visit we had pizza and salad and the second time we had eggplant park, pasta, and oysters and clams- we loved it all! Portions were large, appearance was good and it tasted delish. I also had the tiramisu and it was yum. We will be going back again for sure.

This review is for the "Lounge" half of Christo's. Yes, there are two separate areas, the "dining…read moreroom", and the "Lounge". Their web site REALLY should make this more obvious. The lounge has three columns of tables directly touching each other, and single seats at the bar. The space is TIGHT, too tight, since wait staff are forced to walk sideways down the columns of tables and between those seated at the bar to see the show (the stage and bar are at opposite ends of the room). When the band takes the stage, staff turn the house lights off, which makes for a literal "dine in the dark" experience (not fun). There are also fog machines, that would be best left turned off (fog isn't needed for jazz music). There's also a green laser ball that shoots laser dots around the room, which (again) seems completely out-of-place for jazz shows. Parking is all street parking, and the neighborhood has a large homeless population. The food was definitely one of the pluses, and the other was the friendliness and efficiency of the staff.
