After a different shop failed to fix my F-150 radiator shutter issue, these guys fixed it as if it were no big deal. I've since done 100K mile maintenance and a couple other things. They are great: competent, straight forward, and don't play games with scheduling. I highly recommend. I love that they don't pay too much rent on central. I see trucks and jeeps there obviously owned by people who care about their rigs, which is another good indicator. Good from my point of view. If you'd avoid a diner that has an old pick-up vibe, maybe take your Subaru to Rio-Rancho and those of us with 35's will keep this shop busy and greatly appreciated. read more

I noticed this business had great reviews so my wife and I chose this garage to support a small business. We walked in approximately 5 minutes after they opened only to be greeted by a guy who was in a bad mood and probably didn't have enough coffee. The tone of his voice and body language was gruff- almost like our business was going to be a burden for him. I felt like maybe we should have gone somewhere else. I remembered that thier prices were good in the reviews so maybe the payoff was crappy customer service. Anyway, we were there for a brake job. I explained how the brakes felt and his tone became more gruff and condescending and without even looking at my car he said that I was going to need new rotors. He then said that he was probably going to need the car for several days. I relented and gave him the keys. As soon as we drove away, my wife called another garage across town who said that they can have everything done within a couple of hours. My wife immediately called Duke City Garage to tell them that we were making a U-turn because we found a place that can fix it sooner. Miraculously, he said that he could have the car fixed by the end of the day. We went ahead and still picked up the car. I would not recommend this place just based on this individual's people skills. I am a small business owner myself so I understand the need for good customer service. I rarely ever write reviews- either good or bad- but I just felt compelled to do this. Yes, it might have been an isolated incident, but it was enough to really irritate me. read more

We were traveling across country and broke down about 10 miles east of Albuquerque. Struggled into a parking lot in front of a fire station. The guys on duty steered us towards Aaron at Duke City. He diagnosed the problem over the phone. We managed to find a tow truck to haul us to the garage before they closed. They had us back in business by noon the next morning. I can't say enough good things about the whole staff at Duke City. Absolutely went out of their way to get us going. Also, they offer a sizable discount to NRA members which saved a lot. read more

We recently stopped here due to some issues we were having with our 1993 diesel Chevy K2500. The guys had it ready within the day (knowing we were traveling to CO) and didn't try to sell us injectors, which we assumed was the problem. I would highly recommend them for any repair, large or small....as honest as they come! The owner even called us to check in while enroute, now that's customer service!!!! read more

Wonderful! These guys are nice, communicative, courteous and they know what they're doing. They do not BS or try to oversell, they are affordable, there's a book shelf that I think you can borrow books from (!), and there's wi-fi in case you have to sit around while they change your oil. Aaron (owner I think!) remembered me from the first time I came in. I came in here bruised from some terrible experiences at another shop up in Cedar Crest (near where I live), and every time I deal with Duke City Auto, I am grateful to Yelp for having steered me toward them. The previous shop told me I needed to get new under-the-hood insulation for my Nissan Murano, and Aaron said he'd do it if I reeeeally wanted him to, but that truly, there's no need. Yeah, they're big on guns and NRA--hey, if you're an NRA member and have your card, you get 20% off--but we're all humans. DEFINITELY recommend. These guys ROCK. read more

My BMW 650i showed a Charging Malfunction issue and a new battery didn't solve the problem so I was pretty sure the alternator was failing. Discovered that Duke City Garage was ~ one mile from where I work so I thought I would give them a try based on their positive reviews. Aaron and Fernandez were awesome to work with. They got me in just before the holidays, replaced the alternator and solved the problem for the estimate they gave me. Pretty rare these days. Duke City wasrecommeneed to because of his ability to repair diesel vehicle. They do a great job. Started taking my 2000 Ford F-350 to them. All repairs are made on time and schedule. They only repair what you need or ask to have repaired. Readily identifies potential issues so you can decide at a later time to make the repair. They have worked on this vehicle numerous times and without fail have always provided quality service. Great place to have your vehicle given the TLC it needs. I was having trouble starting my 03 Dodge Cummins and happen to stop by Duke City Automotive. After talking to Aaron and the guys, I was instantly pleased with how they ran their shop. They both checked and diagnosed my truck right there on the spot and told me it was an easy fix. I could have repaired it myself but just having foot surgery I was nowhere near being close to fixing my truck. I took the truck back to them for repairs and they were super helpful to drive me back to work so they could fix it. After hours of diagnostics and checks (I was sweating a huge bill) they called to explain the repair and how much! My jaw hit the floor with only a $90 bill! Very knowledgable and friendly group of guys who just got another life time customer! I recommend anybody to go there for repairs done fair. I brought my 1999 Dodge in after being told by another repair facility that I needed front brakes pads. I found that hard to believe since I hadn't been having any problems such as noise or difficulty with my brakes. Once I brought it in to Duke City Automotive, they looked at it right away and told me that my brake pads were over 50% and my rotors were fine. They were very honest and I would highly recommend any one who needs work done. Instead of trying to get a quick dime but replacing my brakes they would rather be honest and save me money.
