WakeMed has a fantastic website where you can make appointments, message your doctor, review medical history, order refills, & send a private message to your doctor. You're also able to complete forms there, which is what I did for my appointment. Check-in was quick. I waited for about 5 minutes past my scheduled appointment time & the Tamesha, a medical assistant came to get me from the lobby. She was very sweet & friendly & was quick during my "pre-screen/check-in" process. I waited for about 20 minutes for my doctor, which I didn't really like, but they were busy, so I was OK. Dr. Rooker came in & she is bubbly & friendly. I adore her! We chatted like old friends. I really feel comfortable with her & she has good bedside manner. She didn't rush my visit either. I'm really happy with this medical practice.

What happened to me at Duke Primary Care on Leesville Road yesterday was traumatic, negligent, and…read morecompletely unacceptable. I am now physically injured, emotionally shaken, and walking around with my arm looking like I have track marks -- all because of the incompetence and unprofessionalism of their staff. I arrived for my scheduled blood draw at 8:35 a.m. and was left sitting for nearly ten minutes with no communication. When I knocked on the lab door, I found the lab worker FaceTiming her boyfriend while on the clock. She admitted she was on FaceTime. When I asked why she was on a personal call instead of doing her job, she told me I would not be getting my blood drawn and instructed me to leave the building. Two non‑lab employees were then sent to draw my blood. They were not trained for that job, and as a result, they did not collect the correct vials or the right number of vials needed for my pre‑operative testing. This mistake has now delayed two medically necessary surgeries by at least another week. I am sick, vomiting, and dealing with severe reflux -- and this delay is directly due to their failure. Later that evening, the doctor called me. She did not apologize, did not ask how I was, and did not acknowledge the trauma of the morning. Instead, she attempted to reprimand me -- until I refused to allow it. The only reason I wasn't retraumatized a second time was because I stopped her from talking down to me. I had to ask her three separate times what was wrong with my blood work before she finally admitted the truth: the two employees she sent weren't responsible for that job and didn't know which tubes were required. This morning, my arm looks bruised, swollen, and discolored, with visible marks that resemble track marks. I will have to walk around like this for the next week and a half because of their negligence. I am escalating this situation as high as I possibly can -- because no patient should ever be treated this way, ignored, lied to, or physically harmed by untrained staff. Attached is a photo of my arm taken this morning. It shows the physical evidence of what happens when a medical facility allows unqualified employees to perform procedures they are not trained for. This is not just unprofessional -- it's unsafe.

She takes the time to listen to all your concerns. She incorporates a holistic approach to her medical practice and recommends natural remedies in addition to prescription medication when needed. The office staff are friendly, polite, and professional. The lab technicians are skilled and I've never had any issues getting my blood drawn.
