Top-tier mediterranean restaurant. Atmosphere was simple; nice. Service was quick and friendly, although it was empty at the time. Came in on mother's day for something different, we ordered the hummus to start and it was excellent. A must try if you stop by. Very flavourful, smooth, but not too strong. My entrée was a BBQ plate with this great grilled shrimp I would definitely recommend, a chicken skewer that was a little dry but I'm sure that was just a variable, and a beef kebab. This is one of those places you could drive by a thousand times and never notice. The non-descript entrance in the middle of a suburban strip mall hides a real gold mine of food. The Mediterranean menu offers an unusually wide variety and of choices, and everything we tried was excellent. The ambiance is bright and the service solid. On a Friday night, we were the only customers in the place, which is both a drag and a bonus. The owner told us that the restaurant opened just before the pandemic. That it survived is a testament to the quality of the product. read more

So glad we came here. We came based on the reviews. The food is absolutely delicious. Better than Me Va Me, Paramount & Dr. Laffa. Hubby & I came here for a late lunch early dinner after walking around at Black Creek Pioneer Village. Firstly the decor is so nice. A deep blue on the walls with white decorative panels as accents on one side. There's a short wall with white & blue tiles that separates the kitchen from the dining area. On the back wall kitchen utensils painted white are displayed on the wall. So quirky & unique! I forgot to mention when you walk in the door a lovely wood fired oven is in the right corner. You can watch him making Manakeesh! We sat down & there are QR codes on the tables so you can look at the menu. We decided to try the Dukkan BBQ Platter which is for 2-4 people. It comes with 2 Shish Tawook, 2 Chicken Kebab & 2 Kebab skewers (lamb & veal), 2 sides, & hummus. For the sides we chose Fattoush salad & french fries. If you've had mediterranean food you kind of know what to expect. Dukkan puts their own spin on mediterranean food. The fattoush salad has what looks like twisted baked pita bread as the "croutons". The salad dressing is pomegranate molasses. The french fries were seasoned with herbs that made them very tasty. It was hard to put them down. The kebabs that come with the Dukkan platter are all seasoned well with what tastes like salt, pepper, & other herbs I can't identify. I wished they didn't use veal. For me I just feel bad with the way veal is produced. For dessert we had baklava which is cut like a cake slice in a triangle. It was a little hard to cut, I think because it's thick. But it tasted really good. It wasn't too sweet which I like. Hubby added the ice cream & he really loved the ice cream (I can't eat ice cream). When we sat down a guy with beautiful blue eyes came to us. I think he's one of the owners & also a cook. He took our order. There was one other cook in the kitchen, an older woman. About half-way through our meal a young lady came on as waitstaff & she took over serving us. Service was nice & they really took care of us. We were loving every minute of it. We liked the food so much we decided to get take out so my family could try it. We got a spinach manakeesh, a Laham B Ajeen manakeesh, 2 beef shawarma wrap & a chicken shawarma wrap. My parents & brother really liked the food. They agreed its very delicious & better than the other mediterranean places we've tried. We will definitely be getting food from here again! read more

Located at the Steeles Square plaza, Dukkan offers a wide selection of options - including freshly baked manakeesh, BBQ plates and much more. Their shish tawook included 2 skewers of grilled chicken breast, served with a choice of side. The chicken came with about 10 pieces, although the exterior was a bit charred, it was still tender. The side fries was also yummy and crispy. As we wanted to try a few of their apps, we ordered their trio dip platter. The hummus, rummus and baba ghanooj were all great, came with a basket of pita bread. I am a fan of Dukkan! Dukkan means smoke in Arabic, quite a fitting name for a Mediterranean restaurant. Ordered a mixed platter and also got tabouleh salad, hummus, baklava, and ice cream--all amazing! I really liked the chicken here, it was juicy and delicious - well flavoured. The hummus was also realllllyyyyyy good. I haven't had hummus like this before anywhere! Honestly I have no idea what they did to make it taste so good but it was amazing. Don't miss out on the hummus if you come here! All in all I'm super satisfied, it was a delicious dinner spot to get takeout from, friendly staff and efficient service. A first time visitor, I was taken there by my daughter for lunch. We are both lifetime vegetarians and often find it difficult to find places that serve quality vegetarian choices. This place was excellent. I tried the cauliflower bites. Superb. Fresh cauliflower battered, with an excellent array of middle eastern condiments. Solid flavours and great presentation! We then tried the "pizza" style flatbreads drizzled with spices herbs vegetables and cheese. Cooked in the wood oven they were filling tasty and spicy (a choice). Service was attentive and courteous and the restaurant (and washrooms) were very clean. Considering the food quality the prices were very reasonable. Sadly, we live over a 100km away, but when we visit Toronto again we will definitely be here for lunch. All in all highly recommended! read more

This was an excellent experience. Each single item of our order was very delicious. The grilled shrimp was superb, done perfectly. the roasted tomatoes, the meat skewers- juicy, flavourful, done to perfection. Even the french fries were outstanding. Then, there was a real touch of class added for us. We ordered assorted dips. However, it was delivered without pita that was supposed to be included. I called, and the owner himself came quickly, delivered pita, and gave us a treat for our inconvenience: an absolutely mouthwatering baklava. It was the best baklava I have ever tasted, and he gave us a large piece. It was a classy thing to do. Again, even the pita was delicious. This restaurant is a gem. 2.5 stars out of 5 because I don't think it's worth the money. Likely won't be coming back. So we ordered the Chicken Kabob Wrap, Falafel Wrap and the Arabic Ice Cream. Both the wraps were not very filled (see pictures). My wife enjoyed the taste of the Falafel wrap because it's got some lemon juice but we did not enjoy the bitter lemon seeds... There were many. The Arabic Ice cream was okay... We just wanted to try it out but would get it again. Be careful you don't get charged extra "accidentally". We've ordered dinner takeout here before but was not impressed with their platter meals. The lamb chops were alright but portions were a tad small. If you like wraps, I would suggest anyone to go to the Sababa place (near by) instead because you'll get more for your money. Other than Sababa, Kabab Time near Steeles and Bathurst is pretty good too. Their wraps will fill you more. read more

Great food in a somewhat hidden location. This is not a plaza where you'd expect to find a middle eastern eatery. Glad I found it. I tried 2 of those manakeesh (pita bread pizza with middle eastern toppings). They are very reasonably priced and tastes great! Also had that family combo with 2 beef skewers, 2 chicken skewers, hummus, and 2 salads. Added a skewer of shrimp so I could try all their BBQ. We were not disappointed. The shrimp skewer was especially good. Not many places sell shrimp skewers. The seasoning was unique and very delicious. The meat skewers were also very flavorful. Some places are a bit vanilla with their seasoning but this place hits the spot. Meal came with pita bread and some sauces. My only real complain were the salads which I thought was a bit small for the list price. Not a big deal for an otherwise great meal. read more

This is probably... the top worst foods I've ever eaten. It's so bad that I threw out my meal and end up ending food from my fridge. Allow me to disclose the details of my culinary experience: (1) Customer service? THERE IS NONE: First of all, the restaurant forgot half my meal. Missing items? Fine, I call the restaurant to get this rectified. No apologies whatsoever, the guy's word-for word response was: Oh. I forgot. If you want it delivered, I'll give it to you after my shift (ladies and gents, his shift ends in 3 hours - so basically 10 PM) (2) Let's move past that, let's talk about how bad this food was: The kebab is a minced meat. This meat kebab was so salty, and so full of tendons. I almost threw up. Imagine biting into alleged meat and into a million hard pieces of tendon instead. Delicious! It was so bad, I ended up substituting the kebab for chicken from my fridge. The only edible thing was the salad and the pita bread. Kebab ended up in the garbage. The meal cost me $41+. I'm also still starving and will probably use that extra pita to melt cheese and eat something edible. If you treasure your stomach, please avoid this place at all costs. Not sure how they got positive reviews......but it makes absolutely no sense. read more

Met up with a friend at this restaurant. We were greeted immediately once we walked in. The place is modestly renovated - clean, bright, no bells and whistles, but tables and chairs are comfortable and nicely spaced for customers to enjoy their lunch. A few minutes after scanning and reading the menu, we ordered a Mix Plate and a Chicken Kebab Plate. They came with a choice of rice, salad, or fries. The plates came within minutes, nice and hot. The meat were seasoned and cooked perfectly, the rice was tasty, and the best part was the dips. The white dip was creamy and the red dip has a hint of spiciness. The food smelled too good that I forgot to take a picture before digging in, but you can find the photo on their website and in addition to what's on the photo, just imagine it with one red dip and one white dip on the same plate, then that's exactly it. I love the food, the decor, the atmoshpere, the service, basically everything in this restuarant! It is interesting that the diet coke they serve here is in a glass bottle instead of a can or a fountain. The wrap was crispy, the ingredients inside are juicy, the manakeesh was very cheesy. Read decent reviews & wanted to support small business & try new places so used the Ritual free delivery/no commission offer to order. Unfortunately the family platter order was missing the hummus & pita. When I called to ask they said they realized they forgot & if I came to pick up I could get it. I would have forgone it but the pita & hummus are my 7yo's favorite part of the meal! So we my hubby drove 20 min each way to pick up very oily hummus & one piece of pita (despite ordering a platter advertised as being for 4-6 people)! When we went to pick it up there was a man standing directly in front of the door smoking who wouldn't move to let him by & inside the cashier was wearing her mask on her chin. As for the platter itself sadly the shrimp & kebab were very dry & the upgraded salads were tiny. The shish tawook & chicken kebabs were the saving graces. The dukkan salad was very good but so small despite the $5 up charge, so we got 2 bites each. We also ordered a falafel appetizer but these were also very dry and was missing the pita. When we picked up the missing items they added a complimentary Baklava - it was not too sweet & had lots of pistachios but was very difficult to eat because it was hard to cut - it would be better if served as small pieces that would also make it easier to share. Glad we tried it but the next time we have Mediterranean food (which will be soon as it's one of our go-to take out options) we will stick with our tried & true options. read more
