Oh my my!!! What a hidden gem I didn't know I was missing. Just wow! A friend tipped us off- he indicated that they were originally in the downtown area until an ice cream place opened near it and moved here to a very different space. I will talk about the gelato in a minute but I want to share how incredible the landscaping and attention to the space around the place. There were beautiful pots of flowers, play space, climbing vines, and welcoming outside seating. The stand itself is very small- a couple people can fit inside the door to order and receive their treat. There were 15-20 flavors to choose from AND, follow me here, that could be served in a cup, cone, or in a martini glass accompanied by alcohol found in the beverage. I ordered a scoop in a cup but the drink menu was extensive and tempting. Plenty of parking and a place to sit. Don't be stressed that it is off the beaten path- worth the travel to this wonderful spot. read more

We were in the mood for a sweet treat and put dessert into Google and I am so glad this place popped up. It did not disappoint! Follow your maps because you will think you missed it but it is behind a decorator store and you could easily miss it. Walking around back to the entrance was a complete surprise! They own quite a bit of land and there are Adirondack chairs with fire pits to enjoy. There was also corn hole and a volleyball net. The plants and flowers are gorgeous! It's like you are in the streets of Italy! We were quickly greeted and told we could sample all the flavors. There were plenty to choose from. I decided on the Affogato with Kahlua. It was served in an insulated cardboard cup that was quite cute. This is a sipping drink and people usually drink it slow. It was delicious. There wasn't enough Kahlua in my drink, I could barely taste it but still enjoyed it! My friend got raspberry gelato with prosecco and thought it was delicious-and soooo pretty! My husband and I were looking for a sweet treat, so we decided to give a local spot a try. It was a steady crowd with a small wait. Upon entering, we weren't really greeted, but I will attribute that to the steady crowd. We were able to try a few gelato flavors and I opted for the salted caramel gelato on a waffle cone. My husband had the Bailey's gelato float with salted caramel. We enjoyed both, I just wished the waffle cones were homemade. There is no indoor seating, but they offer plenty of outdoor seating. This is a beautiful spot kind of off the beaten path in Woodstock. It's close enough to downtown and is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. We've seen it before and happened to wander in today for Gelato after doing some grocery shopping nearby. They have a great assortment. I choose the mascarpone blueberry cheesecake which was delicious and lightly flavored. It wasn't overwhelming. The attendant was kind and welcoming. We had a lot of fun visiting Dulce for the first time today. We didn't realize they moved locations, so we walked from Downtown Woodstock to their new location which took about 15 min... not too bad and it was so worth it!! We tried three flavors: Strawberry, Nutella fudge and Dulce De Leche. They were all amazing! I'm not sure if the guy that was working there was the owner, but he was super nice and welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. We can't wait to come back. We have been trying to make it to Dulce ever since a friend of ours recommended it a couple of months ago, but their hours of operation make it challenging for us with a baby. We finally made it on Father's Day while we were already downtown. Parking is challenging because of its location - though we were lucky to find a spot right in front by chance as someone was pulling out. There is an abundance of flavors at Dulce and I would have loved to take our time and sample a few before deciding. We were in a hurry this visit so we gambled on Nutella and Blueberries & Cream. The gelato was definitely creamy, and though I didn't find the flavors overly sweet - the blueberry flavor was definitely muted. The sweetness level was appropriate we were just longing for more blueberry to come through in that gelato. The Nutella flavor was definitely more present, but it still wasn't my favorite. I have been dying for stracciatella and I was so bummed they didn't have any. We will definitely return and try a couple more flavors to see if we can find our favorite! read more

Yes, this place is located right next door to a Kilwin's in downtown Woodstock. In contrast, this place offers gelato and a more mom and pop feel. The interior décor is nice and makes you feel at home. They were great with samples and the line was short. There was only one person working when we were there and he kept everything moving. We landed on cookies and cream and chocolate, even though the Irish coffee flavor looked good as well. We got small cups which looked small, but was deceiving since the scoops are packed in there and gelato is more dense than regular ice cream. All that to say it was more than enough. TLDR: cutesy gelato shop in downtown Woodstock with unique flavors!! The shop is super cute and seems to be family owned and operated. When I went on a Friday night, the place was poppin and there was a line out the door. Only downside is that the store isn't very big and doesn't have that much indoor seating so if it's hot and steamy in GA (as it usually is in the summer), don't expect to find air conditioned seats to sit at. Tried the Ferrero Rocher gelato flavor and it was really good! It's got (very) small chunks of the actual chocolates in the ice cream and the flavor is pretty spot on. Adorable little shop! The woman who assisted us was very sweet and helpful when it came to selecting a treat. My daughter picked out the Strawberry sorbet (as did every little girl who came in after her), and I had the Irish Coffee gelato. The gelato was rich, creamy and flavorful and something I'd get again. However, the sorbet was absolutely unreal. Thankfully, my daughter only got through half of her scoop because I stole the rest. The sorbet was the perfect consistency and the strawberry flavor was so fresh and delicious. I've never had sorbet so good in my life. I found the shop on social media and read a recent post from June, addressing the fact that a national chain ice cream shop has recently opened next door. The post is gracious and thoughtfully written, sharing their mission statement -- creating dairy-free vegan items to help patients in need during chemo treatments. I'm so thankful that when I let my 3 year old daughter pick which dessert shop to enter tonight, she picked Dulce Artisan Gelato (she loved the fun display rack in the window).
