I'm somewhat torn on this because the food was pretty good but service was very inconsistent. We had a group and we were quickly greeted and we got a table pretty quickly though it was prime brunch time. The menu is extensive with plenty of options and the space is very welcoming (though not very large). Our server came and we ordered drinks but then didn't come back for a while. We finally ordered but when food and drinks started coming, the timing was all over the place. Two meals didn't come until at least 20 min after the rest and the majority of us were done eating by this time. The one meal that took the longest was a side of scrambled eggs! The quickest thing to make out of all of our orders. Price wise, the spot was reasonable but with the service I'm not sure how fast we'll be back. read more

I ordered the Santa Claus hot cocoa which came with a waffle twill, marshmallows and whip cream and a sweet milk crepe that was filled with cream cheese, fresh strawberries and drizzled with condensed milk. The food arrived in a reasonable time frame as well. My friend and I ordered the Egg Omelette Breakfast and the Spinach & mushroom crepe. I also indulged in a chai latte. They were so sweet to do the design in cinnamon. I like the omelette but it lacked seasoning. No salt or pepper was added. It's massive so you will depart well fed. The side of potatoes were alright. Should've been crispier with a kick of heat. I felt the food was bland. My friend enjoyed the crepe. As a savory not sweet, he said it held up really well for itself and the side of pasta salad was fresh. I think their chai lattes are really good and huge in size for the price. She said it was very good and savory! I decided to order one of the combos; the house omelette with churro french toast. I enjoyed my omelette. It consisted of ham, cheese, spinach, jalapeno, avocado, mushroom, and green peppers. It was very filling for a half portion. However, the star of the show for me was the churro french toast. The french toast itself was cooked perfectly and topped with sliced banana, cinnamon, and cateja (similar to dulce de leche). My entree was the perfect balance of savory and sweet! stopped in on a saturday morning around 10am. right across from the riverside metra station (burlington-northern), so an easy trip from the city or western burbs. the high ceiling dining room is bright, airy and spotless. the tables are comfortably spaced and they offer outdoor seating, but we chose to eat indoors with a/c and were seated right away. the atmosphere is casual and open with beautiful vintage stained glass in the dining room. the menu is available online with tabletop QR codes, but the servers also drop hard copies at the table. the offerings are eclectic with mexican specialties like chilaquiles (i strongly recommend them over easy with green salsa and topped with chicken tinga), as well as a variety of waffles, pancakes and other traditional latin american fare. the drinks are excellent and i highly recommend the iced mexican hot chocolate (omfg). the strawberry crepe was also delicious and comes piled with fresh strawberries and a scoop of strawberry ice cream, on the side. the service was excellent. very attentive and extra friendly. my wife and i are lactose intolerant and we forgot to order oat milk in our drinks, but the server was on top of it and asked if we wanted dairy or an alternative. great catch because i'd be paying for that miscue right about now... prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality & service. you might wait a few extra minutes for your food order because they seem to do a thriving carry-out business. there was a line at the self-serve kiosk to order drinks & breakfast to go. but there was no wait for a table. my wife plans to frequent dulce mami for the iced mexican hot chocolate and we've already added it to our list of favorite breakfast spots. we'll definitely be back with friends and family. we live nearby and will have to try them for dinner, soon. read more

We ate here twice for dinner. The location is right in the center of Riverside across from the train station. We enjoyed the meals both times. Just so you know: the crepes are buckwheat. I had the mushroom and spinach crepe for my first visit and a pasta with chicken dish the second time. Both were very generous servings. The young servers were very good. If you sit near the windows you have a good view of the passing trains, just in case there is a train enthusiast in your life! We will definitely go again. They also have ice cream and assorted pastries here, making it a good place for dessert. The service was absolutely horrible - I came to the restaurant with my three grandchildren at 4:45pm on a Saturday (May 17) and were the only people seated in the restaurant. By the time we got our food (a pizza and two pasta dishes), at 5:45pm (and hour later), the restaurant was full and customers had received their food well before us. Other customers were approaching us and asking why we hadn't received our food yet. The server was nowhere to be found and no communication - just me and three hungry kids (10, 6 and 3 years old) for an hour before the food arrived. I rarely write reviews on Yelp...but I need y'all to know this: This place is beautiful. The decor is so feminine and fun, but the ambiance is very calming and makes for a great place to be productive and study. The chai latte...amazing. I'm not a chai snob, but I know a good one and this was it. I got it with the chocolate rim for the pic even tho I'm not big on sweet in my coffee, BUT the chocolate is not overpowering at all. It's the slightest touch of sweetness. The presentation was so cute and made me smile when I got it! The food was a 15/10. I got the chilequilas with the red sauce which the waitress said was the spiciest. As a spice lover, this was just right! The tortillas still had the perfect crunch to them even with all the sauce. There is so much flavor in the dish and I love how much chicken they give you so you have some in every bite. The staff is extremely kind. The woman taking care of me seems so genuinely appreciative of me being here and is happy to be helping me. You can tell they take great pride in what they do. Wonderful new cafe! I'm very impressed. I've been in 3 times now, and each time, the service has been prompt and friendly, and the drinks and food have been delicious! And wow - what a large selection! From hot lattes and coffee drinks to cold smoothies and milkshakes, to sandwiches, salads, soups, paninis, burgers, crepes, pancakes, waffles, omelettes, there's a huge variety. I tried the Hawaiian panini and it was absolutely delicious! Ham, pineapple, lettuce, tomato, onion & avocado with a chipotle sauce. I like how they arranged the fried toast sandwich into a cute heart shape on the plate. And it was served with a nice little pasta salad on the side. I've tried their hot lattes two different ways. The "to go" way was great - tasted wonderful and was nice and hot. The "dine in" way was beautifully presented, with the rim of the cup dipped in chocolate sauce and a cinnamon dusting, and a cute cinnamon word "love" on the foam on top! I've also tried their iced latte (in a "to go" cup), and it's wonderful. Every bit as good as (if not better than) your mainstream coffee shop lattes! They've done an amazing job with the space too - maximizing the natural and historical beauty of this building. The decor, lighting and atmosphere is beautiful. And the whole place has a friendly, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I love how they've organized the second room at the back with so many more tables to fit more people in. And they've created a cute space for toddlers to play in with baby gates surrounding a nice little play area. And there are lots of fun things on the menu for kids, including pancakes, waffles and a variety of fun sounding milkshakes, including "cookie monster", "bubble gum", "sweet pink", etc. And I'm so glad their hours are plentiful - being open from 8am - 9pm! They'll catch a good variety of people, for breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffees/snacks in between. I just moved across the street and it looks very sweet and welcoming. This place has room for a lot of potential to be great. When I walked in the first time I'm not greeted by anyone and sometimes I just get weird vibes from the workers in front. I always respect service workers but I don't know why I feel like it could be a little more welcoming. The second time I came with my family we were served and waited but the server took too long to come back, and a different server had to ask if we were okay. It can easily fix those things to be an amazing place where I'd like to come back. The chai is delicious but the sweet lattes like oreo and other gimmicks are just too much to handle. I think it needs to chip away at a few things and refine it more sophisticated drinks with a balanced topping than feel like something out of tiktok. read more
