Having eaten at Duman before, I had high hopes for an incredible pizza, a few cocktails and a solid Caesar salad. Salad and pizza - 0 for 2. Because my girlfriend only likes pepperoni, I ordered a medium with 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 supreme. No problem, right? Wrong! The "chef" refused to make this particular hybrid pizza and, as a result, we were REQUIRED to order something else. Something else? Who's paying this bill? Ordered 1/2 pep and 1/2 pancetta. No problem, right? Wrong! After our server (bless her heart) put in the order, I saw the "chef" tearing into her backside in the middle of the dining area. That set me off. Because the "chef" is apparently an "artist", he refused to compromise his pizza by preparing what his paying customers ordered. Because I have a general rule that I don't give money to proprietors who don't value my business, I decided to cash out and go down the street for the pizza and salad I craved. After all, if you want good pizza in Mandeville, go to McClain's. Want good Italian? Go to Nuvolari's! Apparently, if you order what the "chef" wants to prepare for you, you are in for a treat. Order something else and he is too good to do it. If he wants to maintain the "integrity" of his product, perhaps he could explain to his paying customers the virtue of doing it his way instead of embarrassing his wait staff in front of a 1/3 full dining room. Anything else is simply unacceptable. And, it wouldn't hurt if he treated his employees with respect and dignity in general. Kinda important. Bottom line: I'm done with Duman. Period! In a small town, it's not a good idea to tick off the people who eat out 4-5 nights a weeks. I'll spend my money elsewhere. And, I'll tell everyone who will listen that they should avoid Duman. read more

Seriously, this is the best pizza on the Northshore. The crust is perfect - my favorite pizza so far is the meat trio. And I really love the spaghetti... the meatballs are off the hook! I've been coming in Wednesday because they have half price bottles of wine, which is pretty sweet bc the list seems to be pretty good. read more

Went to eat at Duman for the second time on 2/15/20 to give it one more try since location is so close to home. First experience was bad due to food quality ( got food poison) and this time food was decent but waitress seemed upset since we didn't want to order her 10dollar Grey goose cocktail with 1 strawberry. We decided on app and ordered a round of drinks. Before drinks or app even came out she was pushing for main course and we wanted time to enjoy a glass of wine and a cold beer. After drinks arrived she asked for order again while we are still waiting on cauliflower app. Finally after 15 minutes or so our first course shows up and we are drilled again for 4th time and decide to place Entre order. Before we could cut half of the app and share she's brought out side Caesar which I didn't get to eat because as we were halfway through the app the main dish arrives. The point of waiting tables is to space out meal and try to get a couple rounds of drinks in so that the likely hood of customer spending more money increases your bill as well as possibility of coffee, deserts and after dinner drinks. We were rushed by a server who didn't care there was hardly room on table for plates and their was 6 tables open in the dining room area. Won't be going back and I will give them 2-3 years till gone read more

Tried it for the first time today with my parents. I love the atmosphere and decor! Very friendly staff and loved the food. You can tell every single ingredient was fresh. We split the spinach salad and pepperoni pizza. My dad said it reminded him of the pizza when he was a kid delicious! There brand new so just a little short staffed so be patient with them. Amazing crust!!! Not too crispy not too soggy.That's hard to find. Also shaved Parmesan not just grated. So fresh. So wonderful. The ONlY thing is it is too bright! Hard to have a relaxing dinner when it seems like you are in a office setting. Lights are beautiful, but if only they had a dimmer? This would really do a lot for the place. Also there is no research to say that organic is healthier or that GMOs are bad, (look it up) so they should just save the $ and use conventional produce. Will be back! read more

Excited for our Friday night pizza night. This was our first visit to Duman. The plan was to split an xlarge pizza- half cheese-less (Darn lactose intolerance!). The waitress was friendly and accommodating to our request. She convinced me to try their dairy free cheese..so I decided what the heck! After taking our order, she informed us that they could not fill the half and half request with two different cheeses. So-no biggie...we just ordered two separate pizzas. When I inquired about the type of cheese, she would not give any specifics- just a vegetable based non-dairy substitute. Well...the cheese substitute was absolutely stellar! What a game changer...I had to find out what this cheese substitute was...I inquired again-but was told she'd find out if the chef wasn't busy. My daughter asked a third time after our check was delivered (also lactose intolerant and loved the pizza) but was brushed off again. What a disappointment! This clearly would have been a 5 star review- because folks I tell ya- that fake cheese was amazing- but to be blown off was quite disappointing. I'd still like to know the brand- I've had several and none tasted like this! What's the secret? read more
