Dumpling and Noodle Cart is a lovely restaurant towards the beginning of Cary Street. The menu is very straightforward offering dumplings, noodles, soup and 2 bigger entrees. They have some seating with some nice light streaming from the window. My partner and I opted for the pan fried dumplings and the Double Cooked Pork Belly which came with rice. The dumplings were phenomenal and the house sauce on them was delicious. The pork belly was also yummy, would definitely recommend getting the house sauce to add onto it which really elevated it for us. We were able to feed 2 of us and get a drink for about 20 dollars which felt like a bargain! Definitely reccomend this place if you want a quick meal as the wait time was only about 8 minutes. The service is amazing and the staff is so nice. The food is absolutely great and hits hard for different reasons. The steamed pork buns are good and come with a sauce in top. The buns themselves are airy and the pork inside is well seasoned. The pork dumplings were great the noodle had the bite.that home made noodles have, little thicker in a good way and a great appetizer to share. The pad Thai I asked for hot it had a decent bite to it. Tasted wonderful and I really liked it. Lastly the sesame cold noodle. Wow oh wow! Was light, refreshing, nutty with a creamy feel. The food was amazing!! This was my first time coming and I'm soooo glad we took a chance to come in! I ordered the sweet and sour spicy noodle and fried dumplings ! I never had cold noodles before so I was hesitant but omg!! And then the added apple slices was an interesting touch, we even took some to go! The dumplings were freshly fried and tasted amazing with their house soy and spicy sauce. The fillings were good and seasoned appropriately. Their cold noodles as advertised were indeed very cold my teeth. However once it began to come to room temp it was quite good. I personally preferred the sesame noodles over the sweet chili but both were quite good. I wish there could've been some type of meat with it, but for $5 it was still quite a deal. Sometimes smaller menus mean the food is gonna be really good - and this is definitely the case here. The pork buns were warm, fluffy and comforting. The twice cooked pork belly was truly delicious - the medium spice level was perfect amount of kick. However we absolutely loved the crispy pork dumpling - juicy on the inside, flavorful, and crisp exterior comes with their dumpling sauce and side of chili crisp if you ask. So good we took two bites and decided we had to get one more order. Price of dumplings was $6 for 7-8 dumplings. The pork belly was the most expensive dish about $15. The staff were already helpful offering to help us carry our stroller in because only entrance is up quite a few stairs, but we managed fine. Menu is limited to what the name is, dumplings and noodles (with a few extra items). I really enjoyed the pan-fried dumplings here. It's flavorful, pan fried perfectly and great amount of their tasty sauce. The sesame noodles were missing something. Either some salt and/or sweetness. Located closer to the center of the city, street parking is the only thing available and can be a bit of hassle depending on the time of day. Inside you'll find a quaint little restaurant with a counter right at front for you to order at. Menu options are limited so finding what you want won't be much of a challenge. I had the pan fried chicken dumplings, the pork bao bun, and the sesame noodles. The food came out very quick (hence the quick bite suggestion) and was very delicious. Staff was very friendly and courteous. My only complaint was that the sesame noodle left me a little lacking but other than that the food was delicious and I'd be more than happy to go back and try other options. read more

I was hoping for a dumpling house treat and found white bread versions. For the price (almost $40 for 2 dumplings 2 bao and 1 lackluster soup) I was disappointed and still hungry. The menu is super simple with literally dumplings, noodles and some bao. I appreciate the simplicity and they do what they are good at. The food is cheap and yummy. Honestly, I think what makes this place unique is the sauce that's on the dumplings and baos. The sauce is like a sweet and salty thick brown sauce (maybe soy sauce and either some type of plum/oyster sauce.) The baos are served with a similar sauce but with the sweet and spicy chili pepper sauce on top of it too. The baos and dumplings aren't anything out the ordinary but the sauces make it extra yummy and different. You can also tell the dumplings are def homemade with from scratch instead of a store bought dumpling wrap. A few bar stool seatings by the window and a little bit of a wait for the actual food.
