We arrived Saturday evening to a burgeoning parking lot and a boisterous Asian crowd singing karaoke. Most of the singing was in Mandarin. What the singers lacked talent they made up for in enthusiasm. Now that we're here, we realize that this may be the first authentic Chinese restaurant we've ever been to anywhere. The restaurant interiors are modest with red plastic-covered tablecloths. The menu was ample and the offerings were a la carte. DH and I have differing tastes, but tried to share so we'd experience more new flavors. All in all, our dinner was delicious and graciously served by smiling waitstaff. read more

We had a positive experience for the most part. This place used to a piano bar but now it has a ton of room for Chinese food diners. We were quickly seated at a table. It is not fancy or frilly but it has a positive vibe overall. They were playing traditional Chinese music The menu is HUGE! It has all of the standard Chinese food you expect to find and then layer upon layer of food that you might not expect. I spotted several exotic dishes but opted for the familiar vegetable fried rice. It was a huge serving. I had enough to eat the next day. The only other dish we ordered was the hot and sour soup. I didn't like it at all. It was oily and really sour. The soup for two could have fed four. I'd like to think it was an off day. The jasmine tea was just a standard tea bag but I did enjoy it. Was visiting the family down in Myrtle Beach, SC and the folks were hankering for some Chinese Food so we decided to visit the relatively new "Dumpling and Seafood Restaurant". This took the place once held by a popular steak house and the space itself is very large. There is a huge full bar to the right when you walk in and some small stage for karaoke and other music performances. The dining room is large and since it was on the early side we were seated quickly and not too many other diners were present. Since dumplings were in the name of the place we all ordered a small portion of them for ourselves and shared. I had the pork and fried ones and surprise surprise, they were delivered to our table by a robot which just made it a lot more fun. I've seen these mechanicals at trade shows but this was the first time that I witnessed it in the wild. Dad had a shrimp dish and my mom I think ordered chicken with broccoli and for me I opted for chicken with mixed vegetables. This was fine but had far too many onions for my liking. I mention this since it didn't seem like a normal part of such a dish and I just cannot handle them anymore. Stomach sensitivity I guess. Yes these plates arrived via the friendly robot who also said something but I couldn't make it out based on the surrounding noise from the now crowded restaurant. We came across Dumpling & Seafood Restaurant through a FB group for food recommendations and have been eager to try it out. We first dined here on a Friday evening (we are currently here again) and we were surprised they weren't busier than they were as everyone seemed to have nothing but good things to say. They do have live music on Fridays as well which was very nice to listen to while dining. When we were here on our first visit, we ordered the pork pan fried dumplings, beef with broccoli, General Tso chicken and chicken fried rice (we ordered this after seeing someone else order it...lol). The pork pan fried dumplings were some of the best we have ever had. Perfect amount of filling and the flavors were so well balanced. I ordered the General Tso chicken and I can honestly say it was the best general's I have ever had. It wasn't overly sauced like you may find other places and the chunks of chicken were well proportioned. The hubs ordered the beef with broccoli and thought it was good and definitely more flavorful than your run of the mill Chinese restaurant however, after he tried my chicken he said he would be getting that next time. lol But the biggest star of the meal for us was the chicken fried rice. Y'all!!!! I can't tell you the last time that we had fried rice as good as this. I would say it's easily been 10-15 years since we've had fried rice as good as this. Needless to say, we had plenty of leftovers to take with us and they were just as good reheated. On our current visit, we had the dumplings, General Tso chicken, chicken fried rice and the egg drop soup for 2. The soup is very delicious and rich. They add sesame oil to it which I wasn't a fan of but would definitely order it again but have them leave the sesame oil off. Everything we ordered was just as delicious as before. I am confused that this restaurant has 4 stars. The food is horrible and lacks any flavor. My son ordered Sweet Chicken and it tasted like cardboard as the sauce on top was the only flavor on the chicken. We were confused if it was chicken at all. My daughter ordered curry chicken which didn't taste or look like curry as it was watery and the chicken was dry. It was a take out order. I've visited this restaurant maybe 2 or 3 times in the last year. And it is so good every time. This is the first authentic Chinese restaurant I know of in the Myrtle Beach area. It is tucked away in the corner of the Kroger Shopping Plaza. If you have lived in Myrtle Beach for some time, you know a lot of restaurants come and go in this plaza, there was California Pizza Kitchen, an Italian restaurant, and another place I think at one point. But I do not see this restaurant closing anytime soon. They have almost every option you could think of a Chinese restaurant having, and all items are fresh and made to order, you can tell. I've tried a few things here but my favorites have to be: the fried soft shell crab, lo mein, hunan beef, kung pow chicken, house fried rice, orange chicken, pepper chicken, and beef and broccoli. All are great, and something I would order again and again. Our waiter last time was Andrew or Peter? He was the tall gentleman that was very knowledgable about the menu, and pleasant to work with. My expectations for food in the Myrtle Beach area are low, but I was very pleasantly surprised with the somewhat generically named "Dumpling & Seafood Restaurant" during our visit during a long weekend trip to North Myrtle Beach. Things started off on a high note with a hot, crispy, and flavorful scallion pancake. When served like this, a scallion pancake is a delicious start to meal. Next we moved on to dumplings; we tried an order of steamed beef and chive dumplings and an order of panfried pork dumplings. As promised both orders had clearly been made from scratch and were loaded with flavor. Both varieties were excellent, but we preferred the very lightly panfried pork dumplings as one side was allowed to cook until lightly crispy. They were outstanding and worthy of being featured in the restaurant's name. We finished up with the Pickled Mustard Pork Noodles. I don't run across this dish very often and despite being listed in the noodle section of the menu, it's a soup. It took an extra 15 minutes to arrive at our table, but the made-from-scratch noodles were worth every minute of the wait. The serving was easily large enough to share. The occasional bit of somewhat bitter mustard greens were an outstanding compliment to the shredded pork and broth. This was easily one of, if not the best, versions of this dish I've ever had. The restaurant is a bit of a study in contrasts. On one hand is a somewhat traditional Chinese restaurant complete with plastic-covered red tablecloths, but on the other hand, a robot served our meal dish by dish to the table. The very polite and helpful servers made sure it was a positive experience. All in all, Dumping & Seafood Restaurant was a great find and a great meal. Pro tip: the restaurant adds a 20% tip to your bill, but also includes a tip section on the receipt if you wish to tip more. There is a service charge to pay with a card. read more

We have visited this location multiple times and had decent experiences. Back in April 2025, we got our favorite dish (chicken and string beans) and really enjoyed it. However, on tonight's visit, 9-6-2025, that dish tasted COMPLETELY different and was very disappointing. We got take-out and we were told a 15 minute wait. We arrived 30 minutes later and the order wasn't ready (it took an additional 10-15 minutes beyond that). There were only a handful of people eating there and I saw a few leave without eating (as I was waiting) because the restaurant appeared to be greatly understaffed or needed kitchen help. Definitely not a good sign on a Saturday night. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. I'm giving 2 stars with the hopes that we just caught them on a bad day. read more

Absolutely disgusting Chinese food. We spent 120 bucks and got catfished on each dish. The pictures are not what you will get( see my pic of our slimy grey putrid Mongolian beef)! Beware! Also the entres come in the very slim black rectangle bowls with clear lid's and a small what looks like a 6 oz pack of rotten rice. I can eat that tiny rice portion in just two spoonfuls. I almost vomited once realized how rancid it tasted. What a joke! I can tell the restaurant is dirty just by how the food smelled, like old oil that hasn't been changed from the grease trap and roaches and mop water. I'm so disgusted, please don't waste your money here or risk getting you or your family sick. They need to be reported to the health department. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

Had high expectation when we visited, it was the worse restaurant experience we've had for years. Service is super bad, the waitress barely speaks English and she didn't get our order in for over half an hour. The food tasted strange, it was overly spiced with too much sugar and sauce, it is the type of the sauce that doesn't feel good. The ambience is fine but very badly maintained. We are here now, and it's a hot mess. Waited 20 minutes for the wrong dumplings.. We agreed to keep them sincecwe were so hungry. After we ate them, all our silverware was removed. The waiter came over and said they hadn't put orders in right, and asked us what we ordered. I had a view of the kitchen, and they were arguing. One worker was walking around crying. Our dishes came and we had to ask for silverware. When that came, we had to ask for rice. My orange chx had a partially gelatinous sauce clump. Food tasted ok, but we've now been here almost an hour for 2 people and they brought us a full bill. It's getting fixed now, so we will see what we get charged. We have been to this place before and no issues. Food is not the problem. Tonight, I tried to order on their web site (as I have done in the past, with no issues). I tried MULTIPLE times to check out and could not check out at all! It was an issue of "country". I tried EVERY version for the USA and it would NOT take and let me check out. My husband called in our order. That "worked". He went to pick it up, gave his name, waited 20 minutes, to be told "they could not find our order and he could redo our order". Needless to say, he was so angry after giving his name and NO ONE telling him the order could not be found, and walked out. Not sure this is the best way to run a business, especially when very few people were in the restaurant. Definitely will not go/order from here again! read more

To come to a restaurant and get an experience this bad is frankly comical and tragic. The service was frankly terrible. The food was worse - given the amount of time they spent preparing it, I would have expected something of even moderate quality. I was tragically disappointed. I WAS, I admit, pleasantly surprised by the dumplings but the general tso chicken was soggy, chewy, and fairly obviously bulk ordered from a food distributor which I would be absolutely fine with IF it wasn't $18 for a plate of just that and three pieces of broccoli. I tried one of the seafood soups as well, and the whole dish tasted fishy and not in a good way. If you want my opinion, the only thing worth ordering here are the dumplings. read more

Wow! What a place. Couldn't of expected a better time. We walked in and immediately were sat for lunch. We got our orders in within tens minutes. The servers kept in contact with us and made sure we had our drinks refilled and food was good. The pan fried pork dumplings are filled and amazing. We also got the seafood soup, spicy beef soup, general tso, chicken and broccoli. I would say you would not be disappointed by any of the food. It was quite and clean. You order your meal using a tablet. The servers are available to guide you through this. On the tablet there are photos of each dish organized by category. Each category name and dish name is in both English and Chinese, which was helpful for my wife (whose primary language is Chinese). The food came out very quickly via a robot. This is a good Chinese restaurant in North Myrtle Beach. It seemed geared towards events, with a bar and DJ booth. It had tons of capacity, but was sadly very empty. The food was pretty good. I ate here while visiting Myrtle Beach on vacation, I chose the restaurant because of the rating on Yelp. The place looks nice on the inside, it appears clean and well maintained. The menu is really big with lots of choices both meat and vegetable selections. We placed our order and my wife's came ten minutes before mine arrived, when it did it was a completely different item than I ordered. I sat there for a few minutes waiting to start on my meal but no one came by so I started eating what they brought. After I had eaten part of the food the waiter came back, I asked if what he brought was what I ordered. He was visibly flustered and began looking at his iPad, then said no I put your order in wrong. He asked if I wanted what I ordered but by that time my wife was nearly finished with her dinner. Honestly I was concerned that it would take another twenty minutes to get something else so I just ate what he brought. My food was not very good, really it didn't have much flavor. My wife said her dinner was okay but not great. After the mixup the management never came to speak with us or offer any kind of comps, I ate part of what I ordered but I would have thought management would at least apologize for the way dinner went. The average price of our meals were about $18 each and really not worth half of that in my opinion. read more

It looks like a Chinese restaurant took over a steak house which is a little confusing but if you sit down and order you'll have some of the best dumplings and Chinese food in myrtle Beach hands down. They told us they had only been open two months and hadn't locked down the liquor license yet but they had beer for sure. We were also served by a singing robot. It was so cute. For the best Szechuanese restaurant, and possibly most authentic, in Myrtle Beach, you should visit Dumpling & Seafood Restaurant. While I was planning my trip to North Myrtle Beach this summer, I searched to see if there were any Chinese restaurants in the area with a menu that goes beyond Americanized Chinese fare. To my good fortune, I found this gem of an eatery. I should note that some of my other Yelp reviews have revealed my addiction to málà (numbing and spicy) flavored cuisine. And so, I was thrilled when I discovered I could get my fix while visiting the Carolina shores. If you are a first timer to Szechuanese málà dishes, I highly recommend Szechuan Boiled Fish or Beef. You should have a somewhat decent tolerance for spicy food before trying it, but trust me, you will be in flavor heaven with all the aromatics they add to this dish. I ordered the fish during my visit, but you cannot go wrong with either protein option. Also, as dumpling is in the name of the restaurant, my wife and I had to order Pork & Cabbage Dumplings to share during our dinner. These dumplings were sensational. They have many different ones to choose from, so there should be something for all palates. The last thing I need to mention is the entertainment factor. They have robot waitstaff that brings your order to your table. You still have human waitstaff, who were very attentive, but the robot will bring your dishes to you. I'm giving 5 stars because the food is undeniably great and I want this spot to be a true success. Food has been delicious and well made every time we've gone. Plus, sometimes it's delivered by a robot. The downside: The service is bare minimum and not great. You'll never get a refill or a stop from the server to see if you need anything. Ours never even looked in our direction again after taking our orders. We drive up from the Murrells Inlet area because the food is so good. The service makes us think twice about if we want to go out of our way to visit and unfortunately often the answer is no. If they fixed the service issue we'd be back monthly. read more
