Found this place on a random chinese food craving and had to convince my Chinese husband to go. We now attend weekly. (I'm serious). The food is AMAZING, consistent and generously sized and priced. It's also BYOB like many Asian restaurants. You know it's good when you're the only Caucasian.... seriously. You will not be sad. Second street Cred fact: even my in-laws love it!!!!! Ask for Wendy- she's the best!!! It started off nicely when we arrived at the restaurant when it opened but went downhill when the dumplings took forever. We got a table right away and ordered our food without a hitch. There were hardly anyone in there so expected quick service. We got our Singapore rice noodles in a fair amount of time but our pan-fried chicken mushroom and fish dumplings took over 40 minutes to reach our table. I asked one of the waitresses where were our dumplings. She went back to the kitchen to check and never came back out to let us know the status which I found very rude. After that, our initial waitress and the other waitress ignored us for the rest of our meal until another guy bought out our dumplings. The dumplings came out soggy and bland. Also, they were barely pan-fried. It looked like they forgot our dumpling order back in the kitchen and they scrambled to cook them for us. The only saving grace was the Singapore rice noodles which were tasty. The poor service and subpar dumplings will deter me from coming back. I hope they improve on both. read more

Excellent ! The beef and onion dumplings were great, very tasty and BIG, definitely a meal, same with the chicken and mushroom. The fried rice was superb large chunks of chicken and egg, and delicious. Can't wait to try it again. read more

Great Dumpling House!!! The Dumplings were fresh, steamed really good and very tasty!! We ordered the pork chives and the shrimp pumpkin dumplings. This place definitely satisfied my craving. Food is ok, but DELIVERY SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. To be called Dumpling House and forget to send dumpling sauce with the order is RIDICULOUS. Especially when we asked for extra, but instead got NONE. Food was ordered at 5:50pm and delivered at 6:15; which is great, but we had no sauce. Called and immediately told them, no apology; they simply said they would send the driver back with sauce. I've been here 4 times and will be back again. Would go more but 1.5 hour drive is a stretch for dim sum. My wife is from China and I travel to PRC on business very frequently. With that said we are very picky with regard to Chinese food and these guys meet our standard very well. This place was great. We had dinner. When I walked in I smelled the wonderful aromas of soup. Service was good they kept our drinks filled. This restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere which I really enjoyed after such a busy day. We ordered beef and onion buns fried, beef and asparagus, steamed pork and shrimp dumplings, pork and cabbage dumplings fried, hot and spicy with beef and tendon soup, scallion pancakes. As their name suggests, you come here for the dumplings. Don't bother messing around with anything else on the menu. Dumplings is where it's at. They make simple northern Chinese dumplings. Very underappreciated - the filling is abundant, skin is the right thickness. Skin to filling ratio is perfect. You can order them steamed or fried and both are well-cooked. Each order of dumplings is deceivingly filling. I always end up ordering way too much dumplings. I only wish it was closer to my house.... but it's well worth the almost hour drive! read more

Had the onion pancake it was great. Took one bite of the steamed shrimp and pork dumplings and they were awful. Didn't touch the rest We did let the waitress know twice. She said oh ok. It's still amazing. UberEATS offered me a deal to get a free meal up to $30 and I couldn't pass up the chance to try this place again, just to see if it's still as good as I remember. Thankfully, it is. I ordered 2 orders of dumplings (1 Pork/Cabbage, 1 Pork/Leek) and the Goubuli Buns, as well as hot and sour soup and lo mein. I ended up paying about $20 for everything. The dumplings and the buns were as good, if not better, than I remembered them and were absolutely the best I've had that are not homemade or from Taiwan. They again reminded me of being in Taiwan and roaming the streets in the morning looking for a good bun or dumpling stand. Absolutely delicious and the perfect texture and temperature. You only get 8 dumplings in an order now though, but it's definitely a serving of good quality. Now the other items (Lo Mein and Soup). They were just okay. Maybe even above average because my perception is probably skewed by the out of this world buns and dumplings I had. But I found the Lo Mein to be lacking a little in soy sauce and the hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. It had some flavor but was really not as sour and I would've liked. Maybe that's just a personal preference. But overall, not too bad. So my verdict: get the dumplings, the pancakes (beef I heard was best and I remembered that from last time), and the buns. If you want as close to an authentic Taiwanese street experience as you'll get in the states, do yourself a favor and make a trip to eat here. You won't regret it. read more

We have been wanting to try this place for awhile. We ordered several dumpling and buns. Pork and beef, they were great. Not overcooked , just perfect. Everything was just okay, but could definitely improve. I had high hopes since it has great ratings. Our beef noodle soup wasn't spicy at all and I'm a lightweight when it comes to spicy. I think they forgot. The cucumber salad wasn't blended well. Some cucumbers didn't have much flavor. The handmade pork dumplings had good texture and the meat was fine, but it needed more flavor. I think they should consider providing some tasty house sauce to accompany the dumplings. Not everyone likes the usual soy sauce, vinegar or hot sauce that's on the table. Their onion pancakes were nicely made. They were just the right amount of crispy. Unfortunately, it lacked flavor too. Just needed a tiny sprinkle of salt to make them perfect. If the decor/atmosphere was nicer, I would give them a half star more. I hope the flavor issue is just a one time problem. read more

Everything is so good. We ordered a lot to try different things and it was all awesome. And I am a picky dumpling eater.

Been here a few times and consider it pretty good. The steamed buns are definitely worth trying. The fried noodles are good. We tried the string beans w/pork and that was good, too; spicy, which is different than I'm used to, but a nice twist. We always get the green onion pancake, and it's usually really good, but yesterday it seemed not quite crunchy, so don't know what happened. An order of fried dumplings was also not quite crunchy. Maybe the chef was out of town? The beef noodle soup is decent but nothing outstanding; part of the problem is they give very little soup, not sure why. Overall, nothing fancy, typical Chinese restaurant; waiters may be a bit more friendly than the usual. Pretty authentic and definitely worth a visit. read more

Decided to try a new place and decided to try Dumpling House . The service was terrible ,the beef dumplings and beef buns both tasted like they were store bought . The insides were disgusting ! Although I had a bad experience with those things , the chicken fried rice and noodles were very good along with the green onion pancake. Came in on Sunday. The food was just alright. Nothing mind blowing. We ordered the pork buns, shrimp and pork dumpling, shrimp wonton soup, and spicy string bean. The pork buns was probably the best out of everything we ordered. The inside was juicy but nothing worth coming back for. The shrimp wonton soup was bland. It comes with seaweed in it but the seaweed was extremely potent. One of our cup of water had a lipstick stain on it so I'm not sure if they actually washed the cup before. Service was a little slow. This place is awesome. It's become of my favorite spots for Chinese food in the area. The dumplings are kickass, especially the chicken-mushroom ones. I also tried the pork buns, which weren't quite as good--they were just okay. Other recommendations include the twice cooked pork, the shrimp and pumpkin dumplings, the sautéed tofu w/ three delicacies, and the green onion pancake. Took my family in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was busy! Ordered Pork and Shrimp Dumplings, Signature Dumplings, Pork Belly and Garlic, and the Pig Ears. Kids had Chicken Soup and Fried Chicken Appetizer. All were outstanding. Probably the best Chinese food meal I have had in years. This is a rating of their service. We did not get the privilege of trying their food because of the rudeness and went next door to the much superior Bavarian Grill, which always provides filling and delicious food along with friendly service. We walked in and wrote our names on the clipboard, as suggested by other yelpers. There were 2 empty tables and the servers would make eye contact with us but not say anything. Are we supposed to be waiting? Are you guys closed? Fill us in please and not just stare at us standing by the door...I went with my mom and there was another older couple in front of us also standing there for 15 minutes. We were talking and decided to share a larger table and since no one was acknowledging us, we just decided to sit down. Once we sat down THEN a server came and told us we couldn't sit there because it seated 6 and we only had 4 people. Excuse me! If you wanted me to sit at a different table, you probably should have seated me in the 15 minutes we were standing there! So, if they had multiple tables available, why didn't anyone seat us 15 minutes ago? Then they refused to give us menus until we moved, so we moved to the other available table and got no service. After another 15 minutes, someone finally brought us water. At that point, we were so fed up, we just got up and went next door. We made a new friend! But I will never be going back to Dumpling House again. I've never felt so insulted. I'm trying to give you my money and this is how I'm treated? I don't understand why they have so many stars? How good can there food possibly be for someone to put up with this much disrespect? Luckily I'm Chinese and can get Chinese food all the time.
