Hole in the wall Chinese/Korean food. I come here for my jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk craving. Big portions of both. I would say this is the best tangsuyuk this part of the metroplex. Someone the pork is tender, light, and crispy. So good! Can vouch for anything else on the menu because I don't order anything else. Owners are super nice. The food was amazing the soup was slightly under seasoned but still was nice and hot. The noodles were excellent the veggies could be cut a little smaller and the broccoli could be steamed a bit longer, but the dish was delicious. Recently moved to the area and found this place from a FB group. Came here for a Friday lunch one day and it wasn't too busy. We had the shrimp with cilantro and seafood noodle soup with black bean noodles. This dish is a popular one that you often see at Korean restaurants. The noodles were warm and hearty which I enjoyed. The shrimp with cilantro dish is similar to salt and pepper shrimp. These shrimp are huge and the portions were very generous. Also, pretty tasty too. I can't wait to go back and try other Korean/Chinese dishes. While waiting for my food I was checking out their Yelp reviews. Seems like people are mad at the service. Usually, I'd be too but not the case here. This is a little hole in the wall run by an elderly couple. They're cooking the food with love so it's taking longer usual. I hope everyone can be more patience with our elders. read more

When you call ahead, you do not need to wait. Black noodles called, 'Jjajangmeon' which is noodle with lots of seafood on the top. 'Tangsuyuk' taste different from other places. You should try these two! read more

Christmas evening makes for a busy night, given that most places are closed. But the two people working had zero control over their environment. They continued to accept phone and GrubHub orders when they were already an hour behind. At that point, they still estimated '30 minutes'. It's currently one hour and ten minutes since we ordered, and have seen nothing. Online orders apparently move to the front of the line, and neither employee seems to have any conception of how time works, nor do they have any answers as to when food might be done. I've been eating her since I was 12 with my mom when Ma and Bo both ran it. Now in my in my 30's I still come here. I love that their family is keeping it up. I loved how nice and sweet Ma and Bo both were to me when I was younger, so I will always support this place. Food is amazing and cheap for how much you get. They are always so fast and efficient and just like Ma and Bo, kind. I love how they aren't the typical chain restaurant business and stand on their own as a small family owned. Will always love this place. I now live in Anna and wish I could live closer to frequent this place more often. I stopped into this little spot with a craving for some quick Chinese. I didn't expect too much, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the veggie lunch plate, which came with an egg roll. The veggie plate was pretty darn good. The veggies seemed fresher than most small places like this. The water chestnuts were soooo good. And then there was the egg roll. I mean, an egg roll is pretty simple. Fried, filled with tasty treats. Not too much can be said, right? I wouldn't suggest you drive the 30 miles to get there, but if you find yourself in the hopping city of Allen stop by and try this egg roll, and you'll know. The atmosphere is quite modest, but I like that. Nice paintings on the walls. Clean floors, clean tables. Always a plus. The best part of the place? The staff, who I'm assuming are the owners. We chatted a bit and she liked when I used some Chinese and told her I had stayed in Hong Kong once (where she's from). Very nice folks. AND, I didn't make the minimum for a credit card purchase, but she (with a bit of hesitancy) went ahead and let me anyway. Very nice. read more

We have only tried Korean-Chinese cuisine. It's a little pricey, but one of the best I've had in the States. Our favorite is the Sichuan sweet and sour pork. Huge portion and so flavorful. The gan jjajang tastes like the ones I've had in Korea. The other dishes were okay as well. We went on a recommendation of a friend, and now we recommend this place to other people. read more

I got the family meal with 3 dinners for $25.95 which includes 3 dinner sized entrees, 3 sides of rice, 3 soups, 3 egg rolls, and a 2-liter drink. I got entrees with shrimp, which was a dollar extra. The cook makes the dish the way you want it. I ordered the shrimp egg foo young 3 patties, shrimp with lobster sauce made my way(shrimp, egg, green onion, and mushroom) and the cilantro shrimp. All three dishes were OUTSTANDING!! The kids loves the egg drop soup and egg rolls. They ate them all. Most importantly the owners are genuinely GOOD PEOPLE. They are friendly and I trust them with my food any day. When I'm in the area, I will be back to Mabo for the delicious food and great service. read more

Today was my first time and will be my last. Got Mongolian Beef and it was two cold scoops of "fried rice" with mostly onions and three pieces of beef. The egg roll was paper thin and dry and the hot and sour soup lacked flavor, like very little flavor at all. Bowl and Chop Stix is much better. Surprised by other comments that this place is good. Maybe an off day but even off days at other places are still better than the food from this place. Bowl and Chop Stix is on the opposite corner so try it first. Mabo is not good food. read more

I was craving some Chinese before the turkey assault of 2012 ensued. This place has been here in Allen for decades. How do I know this? I've lived in allen my entire life. Mabo's has always been here. However, they're under new management as of last week so I decided to drop in and give it a try. About to take my first bite right now...here it goes...Still as good as I remember! Beware. This is a very small place which can probably sit at most 25 people. The staff there do not speak much English so if you go here, keep it simple. This is more authentic Chinese than most people are used to. So do not go here expecting a more Americanized meal. Does not mean it is not good though. Thus far (i took a 15 minute break to finish about half of my combo fried rice), its legit. This is strict Cantonese cuisine though. No Thai or Vietnamese here. Never coming back again. Got moldy green peppers in my sauce and the owner didn't even ask to replace my sauce. If a Chinese restaurant has sticky rice, that to me is a strike. I ordered combination fried rice and the rice was sticky. Their was no peas in it and it tasted bland. What meat was in it was on top, so it wasn't tossed with the rice. I am not impressed with Mabo Chinese. read more

The chicken had been sitting in the sauce for who knows how long and was soggy. The rice was also soggy and did not taste good. I had to pour a ton of sweet and sour source on the rice just to be able to eat it. The pork didn't taste good either.
