Orange beef, beef fried rice and chicken egg rolls!
    Katie J.

This place is getting 5 stars for food and service! I would say from the looks of it, you aren't talking fine dining, but, the meal said otherwise! We ate egg rolls, crab Rangoon, and soup, followed up by orange beef and beef fried rice. The crab Rangoon could have used more stuffings, but what was there was good. I thoroughly enjoyed the orange beef. The tenderness of the beef and the taste of the sauce was on point. Definitely don't pass on this one if you are craving Chinese food. Note: they do serve peanuts before the meal, so watch for that with allergies!

My Family went to Awesome Chinese Cuisine for Fathers Day lunch in Plano. You can tell from the exterior of the building that this used to be a Braun's or some kind of fast food chain. We ordered the half roast duck, seafood and tofu hot pot, salt and pepper squid, salt and pepper seafood, spicy pork chop, Peking style pork chop, fish fillet, and eggplant with spicy garlic sauce. We liked every dish we ordered here. Not a single one of them were a miss. We probably wouldn't get both of the salt and pepper squid again just because the salt and pepper seafood already includes it. My favorites were the eggplant, pork chop, and the salt and pepper seafood

Peking duck "s-1" with cucumber slices and sliced green onions

Plenty of parking and easy to find. Was immediately greeted when arriving. The interior is nothing special several round tables in the center for bigger parties and surrounded by booths on each side. Minimal decor. The staff is so friendly and just pleasant. We sat down at a booth and our drink orders were immediately taken. The drink menu is simple and basic. Sodas come in a can associated with a cup of ice. I also ordered their jasmine tea which is always a must when eating authentic Chinese food. We ordered their Peking duck, salt and pepper seafood and mapo tofu. Peking duck: nice this slices of duck with slightly crispy skin. Came with bao buns, sliced cucumbers, sliced green onions and hoisin sauce. The duck was good and not too gamey. The freshness of the sliced cucumbers and onions topped with their hoisin sauce is a beautiful blend bursting with flavor. Salt and pepper seafood: nice crispy salty with a hint of spice. Not too spicy mostly just squid pieces. There was some shrimp and scallops. It was okay still good. Mapo tofu: my favorite dish that I always order at any Chinese restaurant. The mapo tofu was delicious with numbing spice. A tad salty for my taste but accompanied with rice it's perfect. Jasmine tea is such a refreshing cleanser with any good Chinese meal. Staff: I love them. So sweet and friendly and just provided the best service by far. They feel like home ... like talking to your cousin that you haven't seen in a while. Overall I would definitely recommend coming here. Please be sure to try and venture out to your just typical "orange chicken" order and try something that your server would recommend.

My partner has been wanting to try this place for a while, so we came for date night. Everything was pretty much your run of the mill Chinese dim sum faire. We enjoyed some fried dumplings, bbq pork fried rice, beef with string beans, and egg rolls. The portions were generous and came out very quickly. We've heard the pecking duck is great and are interested in perhaps returning to try that. Overall was a decent meal!

    Peking Duck w/ Bao Buns

On Friday afternoon, I was craving Peking duck and bao buns and wanted to take my family out for authentic Chinese. Growing up Vietnamese, my family ate both Vietnamese and Chinese food all the time, but this was my Salvadoran girlfriend's very first time having a meal like this--and she absolutely loved it! Living in the Lewisville/The Colony area, we were so glad to find a spot nearby so we didn't have to make the drive out to Garland or Richardson. The Peking duck and bao set-up was exactly what I was hoping for, super reasonably priced, and the duck portion was a great size (we definitely over-ordered, but now we know for next time!). The only tiny issue was that it was a little warm inside the restaurant, but the amazing food and service completely made up for it. You can really tell this is a family-owned, mom-and-pop restaurant because of how genuinely welcomed they make you feel. Our server was fantastic, and the staff kept our waters refilled continuously without being asked (IYKYK!). They were also amazing with our 3-year-old son--when we asked for a spoon, one of the young ladies brought out special kid-friendly cutlery just for him. To top it off, the owner came over to check on us before we left. Warm, inviting, and extremely family-friendly. We will definitely be back!

Probably the most diverse menu I've seen. And more importantly the most flavorful. The sauted green beans had nicely carmelized onions with crispy pieces of pork. The beans were nicely blistered making them just right to eat. The service was excellent.

This place had been on my list for a while; and then I saw it popped up over social media. I finally made the time to bring my mom out here for lunch. We were welcomed in with very friendly staff. We ordered the soy chicken, Peking Duck, salt and pepper shrimp and my mom ordered the lunch Mongolian beef. Everything came out in a timely manner, great portions for the price. Honestly the Peking Duck is priced so well here and I love that they serve them with the bao buns vs the rice paper wraps. I found everything to be quite delicious. The salt and pepper shrimp was cooked very well and had the great flavors I remembered from my old favorite Chinese restaurant back home. Staff is so kind, the restaurant is very large with great seating accommodations for large groups. I definitely will be back to try more items on the menu.

Awesome 五餅二魚 is a Chinese restaurant in Plano that lives up it its name. Yes, Awesome is.... awesome. Found on Yelp, heard from friends, and thanks to a collective effort we chose Awesome for our Christmas Eve dinner and the food easily exceeded our expectations. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Awesome is a stand-alone restaurant. Inside there are 4-person booths that line the windows and, in the center, there were several big round tables for 10 people. Awesome is best experienced with a big group, family style. 1 Star. Service - Our server was so nice. We brought a birthday cake, and they offered to bring out extra forks and plates. They were very helpful, asked if we needed any accommodation, and our party was the last to leave the restaurant, but they never rushed us out. 1 Star. Food - Like many Chinese restaurants, the menu is very big. If you want the best experience, go in a big group (6 or more) so you order a lot of dishes. We ordered a lot, but two dishes stood out for me: Cheese Shrimp and Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Sauce. The Cheese Shrimp had the plumpest, and juiciest shrimp I've ever had in this dish. Battered and fried, biting into the Cheese Shrimp reminded me of the best fried chicken bite I've had. On the other hand, the Eggplant had a smooth, velvet texture that sat in a delicious sauce. We also ordered the Peking Duck which they serve without bones along with fluffy bao buns. All in all, everything we had was so good. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Best. Cheese. Shrimp. EVER. Seriously, I would come back just to order and eat this dish. Also, it's a dish you can order if you're in a smaller party. It's true, Awesome is awesome. 1 Star.

The customer service here is so friendly and sweet, you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. My fiancé and I grabbed a booth this time, but I couldn't help noticing the tables with giant lazy Susans throughout the dining room. This place is absolutely made for a group outing, and we're already planning to come back with a group to take full advantage. The food was a delight. The Singapore noodles had this wonderful curry flavor that I absolutely loved, and the combo fried rice was just as satisfying. We also ordered the Peking duck (P1 on the menu). It was good, though not quite as flavorful on its own as we'd hoped. That said, once you load it up with the hoisin, cucumber, and spring onions, it all comes together beautifully. The bao buns that came with it were soft and delicious, honestly a highlight. We also sipped on hot jasmine tea throughout, which was the perfect, refreshing complement to the whole meal. A solid spot with great vibes, tasty dishes, and room to grow on us even more with a return visit.

Amazing place!!! Everything we got was incredible! Service was fantastic. We came on a Sunday night it was pretty full but everything came out in good timing and all the workers were so kind and always checked on us. The duck and all of the appetizers and dishes were so fresh and flavorful. I cannot wait to come back and try everything! Very cozy and authentic feel to the atmosphere! Will be coming back here.

Tasty food that reminds us of home-cooked Chinese food my husband's mom used to cook. Our favorite place to come for crispy Beijing duck. The meal fed four adults well because of the huge bowl of cabbage, tofu, and duck soup that comes with S3 menu order with the crispy whole duck and stir fry bean sprouts and duck with white rice too. We ordered another vegetable side of stir fry green snow pea leaves too. Delicious and fresh. Friday night dinner at 5:30 pm and the restaurant was already 70% full. We had no wait to be seated in a booth for four adults. We had called ahead to reserve a duck. The menu suggested calling two hours ahead for fresh seafood. Service was fast and friendly. We had to leave and the servers were very busy so we did not have time to wait for any sliced oranges and fortune cookies this time so we paid at the counter to go. We will be back often but probably on a weekday again like last time instead of Friday or weekend since we like when it is quieter.

Came here with my family for a new years dinner, and have to say this is one of the toughest reviews I've had to give. First off, this is definitely one of the most authentic and family oriented Chinese Restaurants I've ever been to, it had all the makings of a Mom and Pop shop, and the set-up was set for a family style type of ordering experience, which was great because there was a lot of things on the menu worth trying. The food was delicious, the dumplings in the won ton soup were out of this world, and the broth was delicious. I saw from previous reviews the salt and pepper squid was popular and it did not disappoint, highly recommend ordering it. As the name implies it was very well seasoned and packed with flavor! All of the chicken dishes we ordered were delicious the General Tsao chicken was next level, and practically wanted to lick the plate clean it was so packed with flavor. The beef chow fun was some of the best I've had, and might have beed the favorite of all that we ordered. What makes this review tough is that the service was 2/3 stars, with them taking over 10 minutes to provide menus, forgetting our drink orders and also waiting over 15 minutes to get the check after asking. Know I say all of this understanding it was new years night, and that they were super busy with not just within the Restaurant, but also with take out orders, and with all the positive reviews on the service I will give them the benefit of the doubt. The restaurant though should have had more waiters as they only had one person working the front, and I will give credit to him as he was doing his absolute best to keep up with the demand. Once we did put in our food order it did come out pretty quickly, except for the Peking duck. Now, the Peking duck was delicious, but a bit cold but delicious none the less, and the bao buns they provided for the duck were delicious and you could eat them by themselves. The duck with the bao buns and a bit of oyster was definitely a bite to remember and one that I would come back for. Overall, it was a positive experience as the food stole the show, and would recommend it for a great Chinese food experience, and would come back here again, when it is less busy because as a mom and pop type Restaurant it might just not have been set-up to handle a very busy night like new years.

Kung pao shrimp with fried rice lunch special. Came with egg drop soup as well.

This is for to go specifically. The lunch portion was a lot of food. I also tried the spicy popcorn chicken that was a ton of meat. Definitely your moneys worth and could be split between people.

I got a lemon dropped....it came with a huge piece of cotton candy (aka "citrus candy floss") on top that the waiter didn't bother to tell me I need to push down into the glass. He did warn me it was going to be an extremely sweet drink....and it was. I then thought I'd try a white cosmo. Good drink, but they use a craft ice cube with a flower in it....and then put it in a shallow glass. So at some point, the ice cube was just resting on my nose so I could drink. How has no one noticed this flaw? He preferred the smoke signal over the long watch. He said the long watch had a flavor he just didn't particularly enjoy. Shared some appetizers: cheeseburger was pretty good. He really liked the oysters...and that they serve the mignonette on the side. And he really, really enjoyed the mignonette. I don't enjoy salmon, but thought we'd try the dip. It didn't turn me into a salmon lover, but he thought it was pretty good. I got the bucatini and it was delicious. Great chunks of crab. I was pretty full so took most of it home....it did not reheat as well as I would've like. But, it's a cream sauce, so that's expected. He got the tagliatelle. He also enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't get it again. He just wasn't blown away. Just a lot of little things that would make me drive down the road rather than come back.

Ever been hangry but can't figure out what to stuff in your belly? That's me tonight on a Tuesday…read more I ended up here and, honestly, I don't know that I'd go back. I got a small gumbo and catfish nuggets at 6.99 each. Even though they have a sign on the door for drink specials, apparently they didn't last more than like two months because they aren't offering that anymore. The water button on the soda machine sticks, so prepare for it to run for like a full 45 seconds before it magically unsticks. Gumbo came out in about ten minutes, but weirdly wasn't hot. Catfish nuggets came out about ten minutes after that (weird since they are both apps) and I asked for my soup to be reheated. I tried a nugget and it was ok, but there's like zero seasoning on them. By the way, he took it to reheat and by the time he returned it (14 min later) I needed to leave. He was nice enough to give me a lid and bag though. I've wanted to check out this place since I always drive by it. I ended up ordering the shrimp…read morepo'boy with a side of Cajun fries. The shrimp lacked flavor and the fries were nothing special. I was not impressed with the po'boy, but maybe, I need to try to seafood boil in a bag. This place was just okay to me. I'll have to try something else as I was not impressed.
