We picked the kids' favorite dishes: bbq roast pork, fried rice, sauteed string beans, beef flat noodle, and a pot of chrysanthemum tea. The food was on point and with the variety they had, even the pickiest eaters were satisfied. My kiddo loves the steamed white rice... and when that came out to the table, she was so happy! The fun part was the owner came by and gave us handful of fortune cookies - each! And a few of us got light up bunny ears! All in all we had a great time. This place is quite appropriately named because it is in fact awesome! We saw all the great reviews and decided to stop in. We were greeted right away and the restaurant is welcoming with an assortment of booths and some large round tables. The server was friendly and she provided great service throughout our meal. We started with the steamed dumplings which were honestly middle of the road and we the weakest part of our meal. The entrees were uniformly outstanding. We had the Beef Chow Fun which tasted great and was less oily than versions we have had elsewhere. We also had the combination crispy noodles which were well prepared with tender beef and some great shrimp. We capped it off with the General Tso which was delicious. Saw this place on Yelp and immediately thought, "There's no way this is good." The name doesn't sound remotely Chinese. But the reviews were suspiciously glowing, so curiosity (and hunger) won. We pulled up and I took one look at the building: older, unremarkable, zero curb appeal. Classic "meh." Inside, several large round tables with lazy Susans, red tablecloths, and Chinese lanterns. They first sat us in a booth but I requested later on to be moved to a large round table since we ordered A LOT. But back to when we first sat in the booth - As a Chinese woman, the second I spotted the older seats with ripped upholstery, it hit me like a culinary prophecy: this place was going to serve me some incredible, authentic Chinese food. I don't know what it is, but there's an inverse law of Chinese restaurants: the less fancy the exterior (and the more the booth looks like it's survived several natural disasters), the better the food. Apparently they skip Instagram-worthy renovations and put the budget where it belongs--on the plate! This is now hands down in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurant in North Dallas - I can even say it's on the very top. I haven't forgotten about the staff. They deserve 10 stars. This place is getting 5 stars for food and service! I would say from the looks of it, you aren't talking fine dining, but, the meal said otherwise! We ate egg rolls, crab Rangoon, and soup, followed up by orange beef and beef fried rice. The crab Rangoon could have used more stuffings, but what was there was good. I thoroughly enjoyed the orange beef. The tenderness of the beef and the taste of the sauce was on point. Definitely don't pass on this one if you are craving Chinese food. We ordered their Peking duck, salt and pepper seafood and mapo tofu. Peking duck: nice this slices of duck with slightly crispy skin. Came with bao buns, sliced cucumbers, sliced green onions and hoisin sauce. The duck was good and not too gamey. The freshness of the sliced cucumbers and onions topped with their hoisin sauce is a beautiful blend bursting with flavor. Salt and pepper seafood: nice crispy salty with a hint of spice. Not too spicy mostly just squid pieces. There was some shrimp and scallops. It was okay still good. Mapo tofu: my favorite dish that I always order at any Chinese restaurant. The mapo tofu was delicious with numbing spice. A tad salty for my taste but accompanied with rice it's perfect. Jasmine tea is such a refreshing cleanser with any good Chinese meal. Staff: I love them. So sweet and friendly and just provided the best service by far. They feel like home ... like talking to your cousin that you haven't seen in a while. On Friday afternoon, I was craving Peking duck and bao buns and wanted to take my family out for authentic Chinese. Growing up Vietnamese, my family ate both Vietnamese and Chinese food all the time, but this was my Salvadoran girlfriend's very first time having a meal like this--and she absolutely loved it! Living in the Lewisville/The Colony area, we were so glad to find a spot nearby so we didn't have to make the drive out to Garland or Richardson. The Peking duck and bao set-up was exactly what I was hoping for, super reasonably priced, and the duck portion was a great size (we definitely over-ordered, but now we know for next time!). The only tiny issue was that it was a little warm inside the restaurant, but the amazing food and service completely made up for it. You can really tell this is a family-owned, mom-and-pop restaurant because of how genuinely welcomed they make you feel. Our server was fantastic, and the staff kept our waters refilled continuously without being asked (IYKYK!). They were also amazing with our 3-year-old son--when we asked for a spoon, one of the young ladies brought out special kid-friendly cutlery just for him. We ordered the soy chicken, Peking Duck, salt and pepper shrimp and my mom ordered the lunch Mongolian beef. Everything came out in a timely manner, great portions for the price. Honestly the Peking Duck is priced so well here and I love that they serve them with the bao buns vs the rice paper wraps. I found everything to be quite delicious. The salt and pepper shrimp was cooked very well and had the great flavors I remembered from my old favorite Chinese restaurant back home. The customer service here is so friendly and sweet, you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. My fiancé and I grabbed a booth this time, but I couldn't help noticing the tables with giant lazy Susans throughout the dining room. Tasty food that reminds us of home-cooked Chinese food my husband's mom used to cook. Our favorite place to come for crispy Beijing duck. The meal fed four adults well because of the huge bowl of cabbage, tofu, and duck soup that comes with S3 menu order with the crispy whole duck and stir fry bean sprouts and duck with white rice too. We ordered another vegetable side of stir fry green snow pea leaves too. Delicious and fresh. Friday night dinner at 5:30 pm and the restaurant was already 70% full. We had no wait to be seated in a booth for four adults. We had called ahead to reserve a duck. The menu suggested calling two hours ahead for fresh seafood. Service was fast and friendly. We had to leave and the servers were very busy so we did not have time to wait for any sliced oranges and fortune cookies this time so we paid at the counter to go. Came here with my family for a new years dinner, and have to say this is one of the toughest reviews I've had to give. First off, this is definitely one of the most authentic and family oriented Chinese Restaurants I've ever been to, it had all the makings of a Mom and Pop shop, and the set-up was set for a family style type of ordering experience, which was great because there was a lot of things on the menu worth trying. The food was delicious, the dumplings in the won ton soup were out of this world, and the broth was delicious. I saw from previous reviews the salt and pepper squid was popular and it did not disappoint, highly recommend ordering it. As the name implies it was very well seasoned and packed with flavor! All of the chicken dishes we ordered were delicious the General Tsao chicken was next level, and practically wanted to lick the plate clean it was so packed with flavor. The beef chow fun was some of the best I've had, and might have beed the favorite of all that we ordered. What makes this review tough is that the service was 2/3 stars, with them taking over 10 minutes to provide menus, forgetting our drink orders and also waiting over 15 minutes to get the check after asking. Know I say all of this understanding it was new years night, and that they were super busy with not just within the Restaurant, but also with take out orders, and with all the positive reviews on the service I will give them the benefit of the doubt. The restaurant though should have had more waiters as they only had one person working the front, and I will give credit to him as he was doing his absolute best to keep up with the demand. Once we did put in our food order it did come out pretty quickly, except for the Peking duck. Now, the Peking duck was delicious, but a bit cold but delicious none the less, and the bao buns they provided for the duck were delicious and you could eat them by themselves. The duck with the bao buns and a bit of oyster was definitely a bite to remember and one that I would come back for. Our entrees were soon her and they were so tasty. My wife said this is the best broccoli beef she's ever had and my General Tso's chicken was tender and nicely seasoned. This review will specifically be for combination fried rice. I think the restaurant's specialty is Peking duck. But let me just say this restaurant is a hidden gem. But I regret that it took me this long, because Dallas is a foodie paradise. It combines all the best aspects of Houston, Austin, and San Antonio as food towns. We will definitely be coming back again and again. So combination fried rice is one of those things that I crave and can't usually get something of good quality. So when we were in Dallas, I was determined to find good Chinese food. And great news where we stayed in Plano, Texas in Northern Dallas is like a little Chinatown of food choices. I did an AI deep dive specifically about combination fried rice in Plano, Texas. Spent hours narrowing it down and arguing with AI. This place kept coming up. AI said that their fried rice had umami. Decided to give it a shot based on all of my input and based on the fact that my favorite fried rice in the world is actually Ecuadorian Chaulafan. Well, this review is kinda ranty but the combination fried rice exceeded all my expectations and it's definitely worth a 4 1/2 hour drive to Plano, Texas. It's grainy, not too light in color, cooked in a wok, the vegetable ratios are good, the shrimp, pork and beef are appropriately portioned and all the flavors combine together for that elusive umami or deep flavor. 3.5 stars really, but there's no half stars. Authentic Chinese food. There were only two members of the waitstaff on the weekend before lunar new year, which was wild. The place was busy and the poor employees were running non stop. Literally running. Because of this, it took a while for them to take our order, but the food came out in a reasonable time afterwards. It's one big open area with booths along the side and the larger tables in the middle. It gets pretty loud when there's kids screaming. It's also cheaper if you pay cash. Canned drinks were reasonably priced at $1.50. The Peking Duck wasn't bad, it had good flavor and plenty of meat. The cucumber was old and tough though. Sauce was good and the baos were fresh. I prefer the crepe style Peking Duck, but this was fine. The beef chow fun or beef flat noodles as called elsewhere, had good flavor. I was skeptical at first because of the color, but it was pretty good. Probably better than First Chinese BBQ. Not a huge portion, two people can easily share it. The Singapore style rice noodle had an incredibly strong curry smell. I hate the smell of curry, but my parents ordered it. They said it was alright. Overall not a good Chinese restaurant, but they need to hire more staff instead of working the ones they have to death. read more

The service did rate 5 stars as the young lady behind the counter was helpful, courteous and was kind enough when she noticed I was using a cane to carry my take-out to the car for me, a gesture MUCH appreciated. If only the food matched the service! I ordered BBQ pork and wonton noodle soup and chicken wonton noodle soup. The pork had a good flavor, but was tough and chewy. My wife's chicken had several small bones in it. The wontons were undercooked and greasy in both our dishes; as was the yellowish liquid in a "dipping style container" that accompanied the chicken; the vegetables were overcooked and the noodles looked and tasted like the had been taken out of the package, thrown in hot water for 30 seconds then placed in the take-out containers. Overall, I would rate both meals a 1 or less. VERY disappointing. read more

This unassuming, plain building holds within it some of the most delicious Chinese food I have ever had! I went here at 4:30 on a Sunday and there were only a couple other tables with people, but by the time we left at 6 it was nearly full! My friends and I shared the Chinese pickled cucumbers (10/10 delicious!!), Edamame, Beef Chow Fun, Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables, Stir Fried minced pork with string beans, and Peking Duck. Highly recommend! I came here on a whim the night before thanksgiving and lucked out on getting a seat. It was full and you could tell there were a lot of regulars. The staff was seemed short staffed so we had to wait a bit for our food to arrive but we didn't mind given the nice ambience and the tasty peanuts we got to munch on while waiting. The staff were attentive but the kitchen was backed up. Made sense given every table ordered at least 6-10 dishes. We had some bbq pork and duck and it was delicious. We paired it with some lo mein and it was enough to bring home some leftovers. The owners are so kind and you could tell they really love serving their customers. Just moved to the area and as a Chinese I'm always looking for good, home style cooking. Needless to say I've found my favorite spot for Chinese food especially the ones where you order dishes! The menu has a good mix of American Chinese and more authentic Chinese dishes. The owner is super friendly, maybe too friendly but jokes aside the service is great. I really enjoyed the Peking duck two course and we got the stir fry duck with bean sprouts which was really good! I also liked their Peking Pork chops and green beans. We had dinner here on March 30, 2026. The service was excellent. Hot and Sour soup and the Egg Drop soup were both very good. Eggplant in Garlic Sauce was the best thing we had and it was awesome. We also had General Tso's Chicken and it was good. The only issue was the chicken was cut into different size pieces so some was cooked well but smaller pieces were overcooked and very dry. A more consistent cut size of the chicken would help with consistency of the cook. We'll definitely eat here again but may not order the chicken. read more
