The porch was cracking and pieces were falling off of it. The sidewalk was uneven and pitting. I looked into several contractors and landed on MI Remodelers. Due to minimal concrete deliveries, I originally was sold on a replacement porch & walk, with a cement evergreen edging and a large pad to place trash bins on. After agreeing to the contract, I just did not have the funds to cover everything and had to cancel the day after signing. Gary (the owner) came to my house discuss the cancelation. He said he would wave any minimal concrete requirements, do a custom concrete porch with walkway only and made me a good offer to do it. I agreed and Gary handled the job details himself. A month after signing the new agreement I had a great porch and walk. Thank you Gary and your team at MI Remodelers. I highly recommend this company.

One of the driveway slabs of concrete near the fence had a buried tree stump that prevented them from completing the job. Totally understandable. Kevin told me if I get rid of the tree stump he'll come and finish the job and give me a good deal when I'm ready. Again totally understandable. I foolishly paid him the total balance for the entire job even though they didn't do everything that was promised with the expectation they'd come back and finish the job they were paid for. Big mistake. I've been contacting Kevin for now over a year and half trying to get him to do the right thing and finish the work. He has upselled me on a new cost to get the remaining job done after I have already paid him. I reluctantly agreed because of the position I'm in and he still hasn't honored his commitment to completing the job despite me agreeing to pay him twice for the same job. He called me on the phone in November and gave me his word he would make it right. Still nothing. Just a repetitive cycle of ghosting and poor communication. The driveway is chipping already and flaking to the point I will have to pay for repairs on top of trying to get the job done. This job was done in July 2024. Very frustrating and downright insulting that this company doesn't honor their commitments and disappears on you. I paid 12k for the entire project and it is devastating when a contract company can't deliver on the work they promised but have no problem taking all your money from you. To these companies 12k may not seem a lot but to the everyday person like me who works a normal job this is a huge amount of money to spend that is taking me years off to pay, all with the job undone. All you ever ask is for people to do the right thing and this company hasn't. If I were a new customer I would have them sign a binding document that holds them to the entire scope of the project otherwise they might disappear on you like they did with me. We had Joe out in early spring to take measurements and make the estimate. What a guy, but I would expect nothing less from Sal and his crew! Sal and his team arrived in July and started working, tearing out the old beds including plant materials. Forms were made, concrete was poured and finished, all on day one. Next day they returned to expose the aggregate, stain and seal everything up. Beautiful result completed in just two days. Amazing work! The installation process was long, disorganized, and full of unnecessary delays. The person who came out to measure forgot to template the riser for our basement bar, which immediately stalled the project. Later, (after one rescheduled install due to staffing issues), an installation crew refused to enter the house after being instructed to use the basement entrance in the back. They left without completing any work. That decision alone pushed our remodel back another two weeks and disrupted the schedules of our other contractors. When installers finally returned, it was around 5:00 p.m. just before the Fourth of July weekend. Instead of simply completing the job, they immediately started making excuses about why they couldn't install the riser and suggested another reschedule. Fortunately, my painter was there and called them out, making it clear there was no reason the work couldn't be completed. They ended up installing it, allowing the rest of the project to finally move forward. If you're coordinating a remodel with multiple contractors and working on a timeline, I would not recommend Hard Rock Stone Works. The lack of communication, poor project management, and repeated delays turned what should have been a straightforward installation into a frustrating experience.
