I found this Jewelry store four years ago, and everything I have purchased, or had repaired, have been nothing short of amazing. Chuck, Hilary, Anne and Lucy always go above an beyond, to ensure that you are 100% satisfied. Oh and I would be remiss if I didn't mentioned the vast and gorgeous selection of fine jewelry that is available for the most discerning customer. Please indulge me for a moment, for I would like to share my most recent experience with this team. I own a beautiful diamond and sapphire ring that my mother, who is now deceased, gave to me. I had the appraisal done by a jeweler, that I used prior to finding Dunbar. Unfortunately while on vacation one of the diamonds fell out and was lost. I wasn't too worried since I had the ring insured. I brought the ring to Michael and Hilary, along with the appraisal to have the repair completed. Unfortunately the appraisal that was given from a jeweler who will remain anonymous, was incorrect and quoted the diamonds as half their actual size. Therefore the insurance company was only willing to reimburse me for one-third of the total replacement and repair cost. Chuck and Lucy having listened to my story, offered immediately to compose a letter for me to send to my insurance company, along with the corrected appraisal. Today I was notified that because of the letter and new corrected appraisal, the total repair will be paid by the Insurance Company. Can you imagine my surprise and joy? Especially with the holiday season upon us, this additional expense was going to be difficult. I can't tell you how much I appreciate Chuck and his entire team. They did this for me, with no financial gain for them. The integrity and kindness shown by the Dunbar team will keep them forever, as my number one choice for jewelry!!! read more

I can't say enough about Dunbar Jewlers! My boyfriend and I had my mother's engagement ring and two wedding bands, as well as part of his great grandmother's engagement ring. We wanted to get them all reset into one engagement ring and one wedding band. We had gone to Kay's the previous week and were told this would cost $7,400. We loved the meaning and sentimentality behind what we wanted to do, but certainly couldn't afford that price tag - we thought we would have to pawn them off and buy new. Nearly thirty years ago my late father traveled to Europe with my mother. They had a wonderful time, and he purchased a special gift for her - a beautiful wrist watch with a gold mesh band. My mother loved it and wore it often, and she spoke of the trip with a smile. The mesh band was badly damaged several years ago, after my father died. My mother was told that it would be nearly impossiblee to repair. She put it away in her drawer; she always felt a little sad about it. Dunbar Jewelers is near a restaurant that she likes, and one day she brought the watch with her. She spoke with the owner and mentioned her watch. After carefully inspecting the damage, he said he thought it could be repaired. Mom was willing to try. I wasn't so sure: the damage was very bad. Mom received a phone call about a month ago. Her watch was repaired. We had lunch at the local deli and then went to retrieve the watch. It was as though the watch had never been damaged. The shredded metal mesh band was like new. I knew where the metal band had been torn away from the watch housing - and the damage was gone. My mother was more than delighted: the watch had tremendous sentimental value, and to have it back was nearly priceless to her. The repair was intricate and time-consuming: the cost for the repair was reasonable and appropriate. I can't recommend Dunbar and its owner highly enough. Most recently they put four prongs on a ring that has great sentimental value for me. It looks great. read more

I can't say how pleased my fiancé and I are with the quality of my engagement ring, which was only matched by the customer service my fiancé received from the entire staff at Dunbar and especially Charles. Charles was so patient with my fiancé, helping him find the perfect diamond to design my dream ring at a reasonable price for a quality piece of jewelry. I think it can be very easy for couples to get ripped off at mall and other jewelry stores when shopping for engagement rings. However, Dunbar has a small town, friendly feel to it that I'd recommend to anyone, especially when shopping for an engagement ring that will be worn for a lifetime. Looking to kill some time, I spontaneously decided to take care of an errand I had been putting off a while: getting my rings cleaned. I stopped in Dunbar, which felt a little like being in an earlier decade in terms of decor, but I was impressed by the breadth of styles of jewelry they carried. I was greeted by Renee, who had no problem taking in my rings right on the spot (though it sounds like they had had a wave of customers just before I arrived there around 2pm on a Saturday). In cleaning my rings, she did a routine check of the gems, and she noticed one was loose. She could even show me how it was jiggling! I ended up leaving my engagement ring there to get fixed plus new rhodium plating. A week later, it was ready for me. The whole procedure was under $60. I walked into Dunbars and was greeted by the nicest sales associate (terrible with names) . I told her I was looking for a roped wedding band. Showed her a picture of one I was going to order (didn't order because I wouldn't have in time). She ended up saying let me try to and order for you. I went into the store the next day and found out that they would run into the same shipping challenge. However, they had a variety of choices and books out and were so helpful and knowledgeable. Chuck showed me a beautiful wedding band that complimented my diamond. Absolutely beautiful and a perfect fit. Overall, the staff was attentive and caring. I had a family heirloom ring with a very scratched stone that needed to be polished plus I needed the ring sized. The manager was helpful , polite, enthusiastic, very friendly and professional. My ring came back two weeks earlier than anticipated and it looked shiny and new and it fit perfectly. My boyfriend and I stopped by the Saturday of mother's day weekend to check out the engagement rings. We had looked else where, but I never found anything I loved. As soon as we walked in, about a half an hour before closing, we were warmly greeted by Renee. She showed us all the different engagement rings in the showroom, and listened to what I liked or didn't like about each one. Then she showed me THE ONE. The setting fit all my needs, and it was ME, not just "what you are supposed to have" when get engaged. She then spent the time to explain and show us different diamonds, since the setting had no stone yet. We left there ringless, or so I thought!
