Said they would be here between 11-1. Arrived around 1:30. Less than 2 hours of work and the bill was $500 for labor. Cleared the kitchen sink, 2 sinks in the master bath, and for the small leak around the base of the toilet (installed in 2018) - claimed the wax ring needed replacing. There was no smell - just a little bit of water. $250 to replace a wax ring and supply line (that's what was on the invoice, but did not see any parts coming in or old parts taken out.) (My daughter was home and hadn't dealt with repair before - didn't know to ask, and the person didn't tell her until it was time to pay. Checked the security camera footage. No parts coming in, no trash/old parts coming out) Was here less than 2 hours, and $500. Maybe they are great and worth the price for more technical jobs that some other reviews describe and were so happy with the work. Maybe other reviewers aren't concerned with pricing. Really disappointed that is the way they do business. read more

We had a fly-by-night American Home Shield(called on time plumbing) come to the condo to replace/adjust the handle on our toilet as it was running slightly and the handle was stiff. The repair person did not do a good job and the toilet continued to develop problems, until today when I could not use it. I called to ask for a reapir person to come out. Nope, they still have not contacted me despite knowing that I can not use the darn thing. So, I called Dumbar Plumbing. They sent Henry(what a great guy)and he fixed it. I was doing some weekend plumming repairs and ran into something over my head and needed help. I called yesterday (Sunday) and received a call back within the hour. I told Michelle the problem and that I had to turn off my water until fixed. She gave me an estimate as well as told me someone would get out to me Monday. Sure enough, Monday morning someone was here, fixed the problem and charged me what they say they would. What makes this an even better service is I was in a panic with my water turned off and called other plummers on Sunday. I received a call back from another company, was told of a service call charge as well as it wasn't their policy to give quotes, a ballpark estimate or anything!?!? I had called 3 pervious plumbers, 2 no-shows and one (from Anji's) just replaced the cartridge (which I told him I had already done) and then said he needed to drive to San Jose and left. I am sad to report my disappointment in Dunbar Plumbing. I have used them before and always found them honest and performed good work. I had a slab leak and scheduled a leak detection company to come out, followed by Dunbar. I scheduled both of these services two weeks out since I was out of town. Two days before the appointment, Michelle from Dunbar texted me to cancel the appointment, stating that they were in the middle of a very large job and no longer available. The soonest they could come out would be in one month. She went on to state that she was out of town when the appointment was made and she just saw the notes about my appointment. This left me high and dry scrambling for a new plumber that I thought I secured weeks ago. This appears to be an unorganized business and will jump at the chance for the biggest job to come along with little disregard to keeping the appointments they have. I will no longer recommend them or use them, and I would be hesitant that they keep your appointment because they will jump at a bigger opportunity, if one were to present itself. read more

I had a water leak from a pipe on the outside of my house and decided to call this place up since there are a number of positive reviews here. I don't know much about plumbing, but I find it very strange that my toilet stops working right after the job was complete. I called Dunbar right back, maybe 20 minutes after he left, and his initial response was that it had nothing to do with him because "he never even came in the house". Whatever the case may be, he was unavailable for the rest of the weekend and I had to get someone else to come out and take a look at my toilet. The work itself was ok, but not that great. He also seemed pretty bothered by the fact that I asked him to quote me a price before he started the job, stating that he always treats people fairly. Its totally reasonable for a customer to want that information though, especially if you are first time customer. I definitely won't be using them again. read more
