Our kitchen sink was totally blocked, we tried all the "home" remedies; the plunger, Roto Rooter drain cleaner etc. obviously nothing solved the problem. Mark Lee from TO plumbing snaked the line twice and it did not resolve the issue. He suggested the line needed a thorough clean out using high pressure water. He arranged to come back later that day with a team to do that. There was no charge for 2 hours he spent trying to clear the line. He and Tony Castaneda came back that afternoon did the clean out with 100% success. I've used Thousand Oaks plumbing multiple times in the past. The work has always been perfect. They are not inexpensive but they have always been competitive. I recently needed to have a faucet replaced. That work seemed a bit expensive but I did not get any other estimates so that's just my perception. While the plumber was here, I had him take a look at a different bathroom because I needed to have the faucet and a vanity replaced. I received the written estimate but because it seemed exorbitantly high, I emailed back with some specific questions. I never received a response. So I emailed again, and still did not receive a response. About a week later I called the office and asked if anyone was going to respond to my questions. The person who answered the phone said yes that the person who prepared the quote would call me back. That never happened. I moved forward with the work using a different plumber. The estimate from Thousand Oaks Plumbing was $4,700. The plumber that just completed the work replaced the existing vanity sink, faucet, and all associated plumbing for $1,400. I guess I know why no one from Thousand Oaks Plumbing wanted to answer my questions. Honestly, I was very surprised to be blown off like that. I don't know if there's been a change in ownership but I guess I won't be using them as much as I have in the past, and if I use them again, I will certainly be much more cautious about getting more than one estimate. read more

Good service, sky-high pricing I would give their service a 5 rating, but cost rating a 1, resulting in a score 3. Had a leak in the upstairs toilet drainpipe that required access from the garage below. Work was completed in under 4 hours with a 2-man crew, which is commendable. Strongly recommend reviewing their estimate breakdown before signing the contract: 1. Included a difficult access charge of $750. If this resulted in 4 hours of additional work that works out to be almost $200 an hour. (Note: job was completed in 4 hours) 2. On a $2800 estimate, parts amounted to about $200, $2600 left for labor: this works out to be more than $600 per hour for the job. 3. Be sure to tell them if you're not planning to submit an insurance claim so the bid is not inflated. These guys are good but not good enough to justify this cost. I still have drywall repair and mold mitigation to deal with in the garage. They have recommended Restorz for this work (probably to earn a commission); can't wait for their estimate! read more

I had two service calls over two days: one for a water heater replacement and the other for a whole house water filtration system. I have yet to turn the water filtration system on as it's going to prime over the weekend. Water heater tech was Christopher. I had him before to un-mess-up a sink install that previous homeowners had left in disrepair. He was prompt, friendly and professional and walked me through my options for getting a new hot water heater. I was initially hesitant about going with another natural gas model, but it was the easiest, fastest like-for-like solution for a unit that had failed last weekend. Went with the 10 year warranty so hopefully I won't have to deal with this again for quite some time. Water filtration system techs were Carlos and Angel. Again, prompt and courteous (right on time at the scheduled appointment). They had spent much of the day installing the unit and replacing piping from my main service line and properly installed the filter and earthquake strapped it. Left the unit in bypass mode before leaving for the day so that my wife and I could enjoy our newfound warm water for the weekend. Looking forward to Monday when the unit can be flushed of the carbon fines and made operational. I should mention that the value of both the water heater and whole house filter were on par with what I expected. The Halo H2 Zero unit originally sells for about $7000 installed, but TO Plumbing had quite a number of units in stock in order to avoid the you-know-who tariffs...so I was able to get one installed for $4000. Not too bad when you consider it has the potential to last upwards of 20+ years in my two person household. read more

We have used TO Plumbing in the past and had good service but had a strange experience yesterday. We needed pipes rooted and one toilet kept running so we asked Mark to take a look. He rooted the pipes just fine but said it would cost $700 for a new toilet and $600 to install it. I decided to ask ChatGPT and it sounded like I might be able to fix the problem by replacing the fill valve, which I did for $20. My issue is strictly with the pricing for this visit. I needed a simple, non-emergency gas shutoff valve replaced for my dryer during a weekday, midday appointment. The job involved unthreading the old valve, adding a short extension, and installing a new one. It took about 20-30 minutes. A very small opening in the drywall was made to extend the pipe by an inch, but drywall repair wasn't included. I was advised of the price before work started, so I did agree to it, but the quote was $525 for a very straightforward job. I didn't really have another option at the time, and if I had been there, I honestly could have done this myself. While the plumber did the job correctly, the pricing felt unreasonably high for the amount of work involved. Because of this, I probably won't be using them again.
