They set me up an appointment for Thursday between 8AM and noon. Fast forward to Thursday, I recived a text message that my technician was on the way at around 830 and he showed up a little after 9. The technician was almost immediately able to diagnose the problem with the stove. He had the part that needed to be replaced in his car and fixed the issues right on the spot. The technician was courteous, knowledgeable, and honest. My stove was working and he was off to his next appointment in less than an hour. I believe the price to be fair and on board with other repair services. I also believe that I could not have gotten my stove repaired any faster. I am glad to have contacted them. My sister referred me to Duncan Home Services having used them recently for a refrigerator repair and being thoroughly satisfied. My washing machine was making a weird and very loud noise so I called them. They were able to schedule me to fit into my busy schedule. Fixing the noise turned out to be a simple job, no parts, minimal labor. What impressed me the most was the high level of knowledge and experience of the technician. I learned my washer is near the end of its life cycle because some components are worn out. It makes more sense and would be more cost effective to replace the washer than replace the worn out parts. I can still use the machine and do my laundry but I now know my timeline of when to replace the machine. My out of pocket expense today was the $119 basic service call charge because no parts were needed and the labor to repair it was very minimal. In late January of this year, Duncan replaced the ice maker in my refrigerator. The technician did an excellent job, and the entire repair took about 15 minutes. Less than six months later, the replacement ice maker failed because of defective internal gearing. The part itself was covered under the manufacturer's warranty, and once again the technician completed the repair in less than 15 minutes. My issue isn't with the technicians or the quality of their service--it was with Duncan's billing policy. I was charged $289 for what amounted to a quick replacement of a warranty part that was known to be defective. While the manufacturer covered the replacement part, Duncan only warranties its labor for 90 days. After that, customers are responsible for the full labor charge, even when the failure is caused by a defective part that Duncan installed. In many cases, service companies can seek reimbursement from the manufacturer for warranty labor, yet I was still billed the full amount. I understand that businesses have overhead, technicians deserve to be paid, and service calls cost money. I was prepared to pay a fair and reasonable charge. However, $289 for a 15-minute repair on a warranty replacement part that failed in less than six months feels excessive. What was most disappointing was the lack of willingness to discuss or reconsider the charge when I raised my concerns. A little flexibility or customer goodwill would have gone a long way. Based on this experience, I will not be using Duncan again. If you're considering them, be aware that while they stand behind their labor for only 90 days, you may still face significant labor charges if a replacement part fails shortly after that period. read more

I purchased my entire HVAC system from this company 3 years ago. Since then - they've been sold. The first issue I had on my system after they were sold was needing someone to come out to install a humidifier filter because they installed the filter in a way that it is not easy to get to. They charged me for the visit. Today - I awaken to no heat. It's 64 degrees in my house. I call - get an AI agent who is no help. Despite assuring me someone - a human - would call me urgently - no call backs at all. Still sitting here in a cold house. No response. No call backs. Nothing. Not a good look. read more

Eric came to our home about noon today because water was dripping out of our LG refrigerator and we called them to take a look at it. We had completed a manual defrost twice in two weeks and water was still building up under the basket in the bottom of the freezer. Eric came in and got right to work, within 15 minutes. He had all kinds of pieces laying on the floor and he diagnosed it as the drain line being frozen up, not clogged. He was able to get it back together and working again, even less than an hour. part of the problem is we had the temperature set too low. We were very impressed. read more

I called Duncan when my 14 year old washer decided not to spin. It's always a balancing act between fixing or just buying a new one. They were able to schedule me for service the next day. I received a text about 30 minutes before Sean arrived. He was professional and spent time diagnosing the problem, more thoroughly than a pediatrician checking out a kid. He ran some diagnostics and decided I needed a new part. He provided me with an estimate which I thought was reasonable and ordered the part. He politely asked if he could test my water at no charge. I said sure. He tested it and recommended a water filtration system. I told him I would think about it. He was friendly, we talked about kids and pets. The part came in quickly and we scheduled next day service. I was texted several reminders and notice of when Sean was 20 minutes away. This is the 1st time we have used Duncan HS but definitely will not be the last. We needed both our washer & dryer looked at. Scheduling a service call was incredibly easy & Chandra was so helpful in doing that. Justin arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problems & ordered the parts on site. The dryer repair was successful but the washer repair was not however, Justin returned the very next day to address the washer. The problem with the washer turned out to be unable to be repaired. DHS refunded the total amount of the washer repair cost on their own initiative the very next day. Justin was professional, respectful of our property, in fact he left our laundry room looking better than when he arrived, & he made every attempt to solve the problems of the appliances. When our refrigerator went out, I asked around for recommendations and was told to go here with the warning that "They're not cheap, but they're fair." That's all I needed. I submitted a request online (it was after hours) and got a call the next morning with an offer to have someone check it out that afternoon. They came within the provided window, with a link to track how far away they were when they started to head our way. After a quick assessment of the problem, they gave me a realistic timeframe for the repair (depending on when they could get the part in, understandably not within their control) and fit me in as soon as they could. Unfortunately for us they couldn't get the part in until after the weekend, but I had a working refrigerator by 8am Monday morning. Everyone I worked with was super professional, friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Honestly can't think of a single complaint. Absolutely will use them in the future. We called Duncan Services to fix our oven. We previously called A1 Appliance repair but their service was atrocious. Duncan couldn't get a new replacement for the card that failed, but they had a contact that fixed the card in two days. On the third day, they had the oven working like new. The repair was expensive ($859), but not as expensive as a new double oven ( $2-3 k). They showed up when they promised, and were very timely. We'll use them again. read more

This was the most horrible experience I have ever had with a company. They misdiagnosed my refrigerator 2 times and broke it further. They first came out to replaced 2 control boards that didn't need fixed, and recommended that we get one more control board fixed. After getting a second opinion from a certified Kitchenaid repair company, we were told the problem is something completely different. When they came out to finally fix the one drawer that was not cooling, they broke it further. I am now left with a fridge that isn't cooling and not dispensing water and ice. The issue was one pull out drawer. Clarence the owner yelled at me after they couldn't figure out how to fix it. They refused to fix what THEY had broken and got angry. It's been a 2 month process and we have been very patient and understanding even after they misdiagnosed our fridge. I have never left a negative review but I would like this to not happen to anyone else. read more

Justin K. misdiagnosed our ice maker issue as needing a new ice bucket stating the existing one was jamming. He gave me the part number and recommended we order and install it ourselves to save money. We paid a $99 diagnostic fee to Duncan Home Services. The replacement part didn't resolve the issue. Justin was back out the following week to take another look. This time he noted there is a service bulletin out that recommends a repair kit for $700. Why didn't he mention the service bulletin the first trip out? At this point we're into this project $99 diagnostic fee, $170 replacement part and now a $700 repair kit which is close to the cost of a new refrigerator. When I placed a call to scheduling to request a refund of the $99 diagnostics fee, she sited several reasons why we would not be getting a refund such as, "new service bulletins come out everyday", "you didn't have to buy the replacement part", "the technician made two trips out", and "we didn't break it" and hung up on me. I have a gas stove and a refrigerator serviced by Duncan in March of 2023. The repairman was through in his explanation of the repairs and costs. We choose to do the repairs. For the refrigerator, it was the manifold for the water filter. They came back after a week after it was fixed to check on how the appliances were working. The manifold for the filter was still leaking and he claimed it was condensation and I ignored it for a few months. Water pooled in our frig and freezer during that time. I called them to ask them to shut off the water supply. They are planning to charge me since it's been over a month. read more
