Love this place. The brisket is wonderful! So is the chicken, ribs, and catfish. Haven't tried the pork. They have a few different sauces. Have tried the white sauce and sweet bbq sauce. Loved both. Good sides like collard greens, green beans, Mac and cheese, fries, etc. Have liked all the ones we've tried. Good sweet tea. They have outside or indoor seating and they are doing a good job following Covid requirements. Very friendly owners and staff. Always a great experience. read more

Really good BBQ. One bonus is it's open on Sunday when most BBQ joints are closed. Their sauces are great. I get the pork sandwich and fries usually. The brisket is pretty good too. I love banana pudding but theirs isn't all that great, stick to the Bbq. :) read more

Very inconsistent service and experience. If the owner is there, things are moving along like a charm, but if he is not, no one seems to be in charge. You must place your order at the register, and never have I encountered anyone with any personality or sense of urgency there. On to the food...they are pretty consistent with fish and shrimp, although they suffer from inconsistencies in the amount of salt. Could hardly eat shrimp because they were over-salted. I've never tried any of their pork bbq, BUT have had their brisket. It is just ok - feels over-cooked and under-seasoned, perhaps rushed in the smoker. Smoke ring non-existent, and just overall not moist enough. In addition, some of their kitchen staff appear to not know how to properly cut brisket. Hope this place can become more consistent. They make a great recovery when/if you call them on something that is off...but they should try to avoid things being off to begin with. Also...when will they start serving beer? read more

This has quickly become one of our favorites in Newnan. The owner is very personable. Most of the time we do take out. Everything we have tried from the banana pudding to smoked wings is excellent. My husband loves their fried okra. I have had their shredded pork, Mac and cheese, and Brunswick stew several times. It's quite rare for me to like a BBQ joint but this place is fantastic. You're always greeted by a very friendly, inviting staff at the front counter to take your order. I've tried the loaded potato, the fried green tomato BLT, and the brisket. Every single bite was fantastic. The owner is a great guy who makes regular rounds to make sure you are happy with everything you've purchased. The restaurant is spotless and very nice. Went to Dunc's for my first time today. Menu has a lot of variety and mine was very tasty. Big portions and staff is very friendly.

The first time we saw this joint was when we were heading south on 29 into Newnan on an errand. I reversed directions at the next driveway, and pulled into the parking lot. My wife has COPD, so finding a Handicapped space, especially in this Summer heat, was critical. There is only one designated space, and it was occupied. In fact, due to the layout of the parking lots, there are only 8 or 9 usable parking spaces that are within 100 feet of the entry walkway. Every one was taken, so we came back a few days later, at mid-afternoon. The handicapped space was taken, by the same vehicle as earlier (hm?), but we parked in one of the other 9 spaces. Once we arrived inside, we were greeted by a very friendly young man, who was very instructive as to sauces and the vision of the owner and fellow employees. I ordered 2 pulled pork sandwiches, a shared order of fries, a shared order of Brunswick Stew, and a shared order of cole slaw, at the counter. I noticed an item in the menu, Alabama White Sauce, but I have yet to try it. What we were served met our expectations and more. Except.....for the Brunswick Stew, which was adequate, but capable of brilliance. My Da's family are from Brunswick, Georgia, and he created bubbling cauldrons of culinary heaven twice a year, a process that required 3 days of smoking meat, chopping ingredients, crafting the Magic Sauce, and lovingly blending it all into a flavorful concoction with a unique texture. That texture, which I have found in only 3 or 4 other BBQ joints (there are only BBQ joints, not BBQ restaurants), is what is needed to make this joint's stew great. I'll go back, for sure. BEST BBQ in Newnan! I went with the roasted chicken plate (comes with two sides) and I was pleasantly surprised it was a pulled bbq type consistency. Not at all like a rotisserie chicken like I expected. My favorite bbq sauce was the spicy one, and the mac n cheese has little bites of bacon or something delicious in it. Yummm. Chicken salad was fresh and cold... Not a heavy mayo base, really tasty. The people here are outrageously friendly and the prices are right. All around fantastic experience. Sat in drive thru for 15 minutes then ordered waited about 10 more then received my food. I ordered a pork sandwich and it wasn't what I expected. It was just chucks of pork on Texas toast and mostly fatty pieces couldn't eat the sandwich. I also had fried green tomatoes and they were soggy and fell apart when I tried to pick them up. I've been here three times and I've tried just about everything. I haven't had a negative experience. I commend the owners for giving this a shot, dealing with 1 star reviews, and powering through this growing phase in a town that's in dire need of new places to eat, that's not "franchised." I will continue eating at Dunc's Bbq Kitchen. I will continue spreading the word about my positive experiences, great tasting food, and I wish this small business a great success. This place is worth a try. If you don't have a great experience just bear with them. They're not out to give you a bad experience. Its a busy time for the first weeks/months... This is a brand new restaurant in Newnan And OMG The food is fantastic! Unlike some of the other barbecue places in Newnan this is the real deal! They smoke their meat over Pecan wood and take great care to trim their ribs so they are super lean. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was so delicious. Their coleslaw was made from scratch and not overly processed. They're baked beans are wonderful and the price for our meal was very reasonable! You won't be disappointed! read more

Cannot express enough how great this place is. I moved to Newnan from Texas about a year ago and have been crazy disappointed with the BBQ in the area and haven't found one place that I really consistently enjoy. I finally found the place. Not only is their food top notch their service is just as good. The owner was out front waving us in and introducing himself and the rest of the staff from the cashier to the bus boy was just as hospitable. Will be back here very often. read more

This place has changed since the last time I was here (about a year ago). For one thing, customers now give their order at the counter. Previously they had standard waitresses. Also, I think the prices had really increased - for instance a pork sandwich was $7.50, drinks were $3.00, pork plate was $14.00 and the sides were costly. The food wasn't bad, but for those prices it should be prefect. Maybe I am cheap (or poor), but I simply can't afford these prices. One can easily spend over $20 to eat. Lastly, $20 for 10 wings is mind-boggling. I wish you success, but please remember us po folks!! read more

I've had the ribs, pulled pork and shrimp and all were exemplary. Sides are all great - hush puppies especially so. MUCH better than all other local BBQ and particularly Sprayberry's (which I find bland). Mixing spicy and sweet BBQ sauces in what I find the best. WOW! I'll say it backwards...WOW! Moved to Newnan about 4 months ago. Popped in to Dunc's on a Sunday afternoon for lunch because I'm always in search of the best barbecue and pizza. FOUND THE BBQ!! Brisket is amazing! Tender. Flavorful. Pork plate also very good. The Stew is classic and so good. Clean and service is spot on. Can't wait to get back and try the fried catfish and shrimp. Clean with a friendly, efficient staff. Struggled a bit with execution. I arrived for lunch and ordered the brisket plate. The order came with typical, run of the mill potato salad and cole slaw. But they served very generous portions of brisket, cut in three slabs--just like I used to get it in Texas. (This beats other local restaurants that serve it shaved or chopped.) The brisket was most and tender--but also tepid. I asked if they could reheat it for me. One member of the staff looked at me and said she did not know how to do it. She turned to another staff member who then explained that because they do not cook anything with a microwave, they do not have one in the kitchen. She tried to make if right by bringing out a fresh plate. It, too, was barely warm. She thought the halo or warmer might be bad. She offered to reheat it on a flat iron but warned it might not be as juicy. I told her never mind. I needed to leave and did not want lunch interrupted a second time. I do not know if this is a problem with other meat entrees. Perhaps in the future I will order take out brisket so I can heat it at my home, but I doubt I will return for dine in. read more

We are visiting from Boston and craved a good authentic barbecue. We found Dunc's via Google search and diverted off I-85. We win! It delivered in every way. Food was delicious, fresh, interesting flavors and all homemade. The facility was super clean. The staff very friendly and prompt. The baked beans have pulled pork in them, the Brunswick stew is great, and the fried okra was not too greasy. The Mac and cheese could use just a little more salt or extra sharp cheddar.
