    breakfast burrito
    Baran K.

This was probably the worst meal of the trip and frankly it was never where we planned on stopping for food either. I had my eyes set on a nearby bagel shop that we were devastated to find was closed on Mon&Tue which is how we ended up here. The breakfast burrito with egg, cheese, and bacon was so packed to the brim with white beans, making masking the taste of anything else in the dish and making it texturally overwhelming. My americano was also one of the worst I've had, with that unfortunately too common sour aftertaste of stale coffee. I tried a bit of the avocado toast which was pretty decent, nothing special and I got good reviews about the matcha latte. This is probably skip for me the next time I'm in the area.

Always on the hunt for the best local coffee shops when I travel, and Dune was such a great pick for getting a feel of the Santa Barbara coffee scene. I love the color pops, the name, and the font -- it gives the whole brand a distinct, fun, retro vibe. They have multiple locations and they're generally busy, which is always a good sign. I grabbed a matcha latte and my partner got a cappuccino -- both were amazing. Would definitely come back. They also sell coffee beans to go and have some really nice merch. A great stop for anyone wanting a true SB coffee moment.

Loved my iced latte from Dune! Very cool spot in Santa Barbara, filled with students on their laptops. The coffee itself was excellent, too. It was so excellent, in fact, that I tried to find espresso beans that they were selling so I could buy them, but unfortunately I couldn't find them in the store. Would return for sure!

Hubby is a big coffee drinker. We went twice is one day here lol. He ordered the shakerato in the morning, but the afternoon one was overly sweet. He noticed the quality of the coffee beans had a lot of flavor, weren't burnt compared to other coffee places he goes to. He enjoyed the coffee so much he grabbed a bag of beans to take home (the zip zinger). I ordered the magic bowl-chamomile tea steamed almond milk and honey which was very soothing, perfect for the cold weather. In the afternoon I had the matcha latte which was a great pick me up. Both were delicious. The girl taking our orderly was very sweet and welcoming.

Vanilla latte iced x2, iced matcha, hot vanilla latte

I LOOOOVE going to local coffee shops when I visit an area and I'm so glad I did!! The coffee is 10/10 would recommend. Vanilla latte-- classic done right, not too sweet, not too milky, perfectly smooth, and the espresso is amazing! I got the hot one (as per usual) and loved it but the iced is good too!! I'm always so wary of ordering lattes because some places the milk ratio is just TOO MUCH for however much coffee they put (or it's too weak or watery or something) and it just tastes like sweet milk with a whiff of coffee. But here, the ratio is perfect! Iced matcha-- Ehhh unfortunately quite terrible and watery. They DO whisk it with the brush and bowl and all and you can watch with the open kitchen concept .... But the ratio here is off and doesn't taste great. Super mild matcha taste. Almond Croissant-- Solid would get again!! Ask for it warmed up!! There's a parking lot and both indoor and outdoor seating. Absolutely would come again for the hot vanilla latte!!! They're a coffee roaster so for sure coffee is where it's at.

Strawberry matcha was a 6/10, my avocado toast was very lime heavy and honestly bland, and don't even get me started on the breakfast burrito. So dry and tasted a week old... disgusting honestly I had to get a refund. The drip coffee was so watered down. I will never be coming back.

I've been a fan of Dune Coffee Roasters since the early French press days, so watching them grow into four locations across Santa Barbara and Goleta has been pretty cool. Proof that good coffee and consistency actually matter. Ordering online is easy, there's a great outdoor patio, and plenty of indoor seating. It's one of those places that works for everything. Catching up with a friend, hosting a meetup, studying, remote work, family hangouts, locals, tourists, cyclists. Yes, there's a bike rack. Let's talk about the real stars. I'm obsessed with their toast and jam. Simple, perfect, no notes. And as someone who drinks iced vanilla lattes regularly, theirs always hits. Not overly sweet, perfectly balanced, and consistently smooth. Staff is cool too. Friendly, efficient, and never weird about explaining the menu or answering questions, even when it's busy. They've also got solid merch if you're into taking a little piece of your favorite coffee shop home. Parking is what it is. There's a small lot and a paid city lot across the way, which feels very downtown Santa Barbara and not worth stressing over. As for some of the negative reviews I've seen... high chairs? This isn't a restaurant. Hipster prices? Starbucks is charging over $7 now, so let's all be serious. Pet friendly too. Just keep your well-behaved, leashed pup outside since health department rules are a thing. Reliable, welcoming, and always a good cup. Dune is a staple for a reason.

Love the space and natural light. The atmosphere is so lovely and friendly. Staff were sweet! We tried the tres leches latte and it was really good. I definitely liked sitting here and starting my morning on a nice day with delicious coffee.

Presidio decaf mocha iced Cafe latte with whole milk.

Dune Presidio coffee beans are my favorite decaf. They make a wonderful luscious creama and don't give you the jitters. My morning coffee is the Zip Zinger which is a little fruity so you have to brew it a little bit longer and yield a little bit more than the traditional 1:2 ratio in order to get some more sugar and bitter notes. The coffee is roasted on site, which is absolutely fascinating to observe as you watch the little green beans go in and then the dark roasted coffee beans come out. Fresh green coffee beans are roasted daily and when I purchased my bag of Presidio decaf, the roasting date on the bottom was just four days earlier. The manager I spoke to told me that the roasting operation was moving down the coast to Carpinteria. And that this coffee shop would be expanding its dining area.

A spacious coffee shop with a pleasant and sunny patio. Service was a bit curt. Coffee was good, but the pumpkin spice iced latte was too sweet. I added some black coffee to lessen the sweetness. The coffee beans we took home are delicious.

been coming here 15 years and still love it. toast is shockingly underrated. they've become way more corporate over the years but still a solid spot with good indoor and outdoor seating

Great place to pick up a coffee and small bite for breakfast! We got our coffee and food very quickly. The place has a few seating areas indoor and outdoor. Everyone was super friendly as well!

Great customer service. I was in need of some caffeine after the drive up from Ventura County! I got an iced latte and it was perfect. I got my perk back. Great customer service and nice space with seating inside/ outdoors. The shop is clean and staff was friendly! I would def be back when back in town. There is parking but I believe it's limited to two hours fir customers only.

On June 5th between approximately 9:00 AM and 9:15 AM, at State st location, I ordered a Strawberry Milk Matcha at the State Street location. The drink I received looked significantly different from the advertised product and appeared improperly prepared. When I politely asked about it, the employee immediately became defensive and repeatedly insisted that the drink was correct instead of taking a moment to understand the concern. Fortunately, another employee stepped in and offered to remake the drink, which I appreciated. What disappointed me most was the customer service. When I asked the employee for his name so I could provide feedback, he told me that I did not need to know his name and that it was irrelevant for me to know. I found that response surprisingly unprofessional. Mistakes happen. Drinks can be remade. What matters is how customers are treated when they raise concerns respectfully. I spoke with a manager afterward, who apologized for my experience, but I left feeling that the issue was minimized rather than truly addressed. I choose local businesses over large chains whenever possible. That's exactly why this experience was disappointing. I hope this feedback is taken constructively because Dune has built a strong reputation in our community and I would like to see that standard upheld.
