Stopped by for a couple of iced coffees and was seriously impressed. I ordered the four leaf clover latte with Irish Crème, and my fiancé got the Snickerdoodle Latte. Both drinks were incredibly creamy and smooth, with a rich flavor that never felt overly bitter or overly sweet. The Lucky Charms had a fun, nostalgic taste with just the right amount of Irish crème, while the Snickerdoodle Latte was perfectly balanced with warm cinnamon-cookie notes. What stood out most was how well-crafted both drinks were. You could actually taste the coffee without it being overpowering, and neither drink felt loaded with sugar like some flavored lattes do. A friend of mine told me about Red Kettle and I finally got the chance to stop by. It's a cute coffee shop that has plenty of parking outside. When you walk in, they have lots of goods from local businesses for sale. At the register, they have lots of options including seasonal and regular flavors. For my first visit, I needed a little pick-me-up so I opted for Celina's Mexican Mocha. After a few short minutes, my order was good to go! I took a sip and it was sooo delicious. One of my complaints about mochas is usually they're not chocolate-y enough but this one was perfect. As the sip settled in my mouth, I got a nice kick from the cayenne pepper. It was a perfect sip! Overall, Red Kettle Coffee is a very cute coffee shop with some yummy beverages. The baristas were very kind and helpful. I'll definitely be back! read more

This was a random stop on the way back from Solvang. It's located right next to a gas station where we got gas from. They serve Mizuba matcha and I got mines hot, oat milk, and unsweetened. When we checked the menu online, we saw the peanut butter latte (peanut butter powder, agave, espresso, and milk). The barista let us know it's from the old menu, but can make it for my girlfriend anyway. We both enjoyed our drinks. They don't charge for nut milk which is what I am thankful for. They sell pastries and empanadas. Wish they had vegan pastries as well. It's a really cute spot. There's a little shop inside where they sell cute gift items like stickers, keychains, kitchen towels, cups, cards, and pictures. The baristas were really nice. There's a gender neutral restroom. We didn't get a chance to check out the patio but there is outdoor seating. Will definitely be back! read more

Nice little coffee shop and more. We didn't actually plan on stopping here but my kid really had to use the bathroom and we weren't too far from here. This is convenient for the road trip since it's super close to the freeway. They had one bathroom and weren't super busy which was perfect my kid. There's a small parking lot next to the place, maybe three cars. It looks like street parking if those are taken up. In addition to coffee, they also do matcha here. The and more part is that it seems to be a bit of a gift shop vibe since they sell lots of random items. If you have some time, there's a nice outside seating area with good amount of seating. read more

Went to this place because I checked out their reviews and was going to be in Summerland for the day. Super cute place, the coffee was horrible, the barista added too much white chocolate and raspberry syrup and to top that, I should have known not to trust a flavored drink with fake syrups. It was supposed to be iced and it was water down and so much syrup it tasted like alcohol rather than a coffee drink. Almond Croissant was amazing by Debbie's Delights. Their coffees definitely needed a large touch of love, the customer service seemed so off putting and for the price of the coffeee it was extremely not worth it. read more

Loved this little spot! They make a matcha latte perfectly!! The barista suggested making it a white chocolate matcha and it was delicious! The empanadas were great, heated up perfectly and not microwaved like some places do when heating a pastry. The sitting area in the back of as adorable and comfortable and the gift shop had a great collection of local art, greeting cards and a whole lot of gift items. read more

Stopped by on our way to San Luis Obispo. Quaint little place with minimal off-street parking and an outdoor patio. Inside had merch from local artists. Very eclectic selection of hipster knick knacks. Ordered a coffee and tea. Someone had placed a water bottle on the counter and the cashier rung it up with my order. Didn't even ask of it was mine. Anyway, I took it since I already paid for it. The person taking my order should have been a little more attentive as to who's stuff was on the counter. I guess it was an additional sale item for them and it didn't break the bank for me, but I would have rather walk off with stuff I wanted. I honestly think it was a water bottle the cashier left up there since he was stocking/restocking those water bottles from the fridge in front of the register when we arrived. I had a lavender latte. It was alright. Had a hint of lavender. Came in your basic hot cup. I didn't get one of those cute little hot cup sleeves. Boo! My drink was warm and not hot anyway. Overall, I'll have to skip this joint the next time I road trip up the coast. Maybe this was a one off, but it was off putting enough not to come back. ADDENDUM: So, after Manager Megan responded here, I thought I'd minus 2 stars, because clearly management has missed the mark. I don't drink tea while I'm traveling, so, NO, honey, it was not a Chai. You must have noticed the cup was dirty or smudged with something dark. I noticed that, too. Did you serve me this drink with the dirty cup? I don't remember the face, but I know it was a female. Good to know the spirit of management here. Definitely avoid this place. Whilst you think it's easy to be on the road and want to deal with someone else's mistake, it's not. The male cashier did look at me when I asked if it belonged to anyone in my party. Did he offer to refund or give the slightest concern of a potential mistake AFTER he rung me up? Nope. Like I said, I would rather not. Would it be easier for you to train your employee to not place the shop's merch on the counter and ring it up as the customer's?... but, you don't see me coming at you like that, right? I could of, but I would come off sounding like you. I understand there might have been a mistake that he may not have been willing to own up to, which is fine. He was a young, distracted kid, but the response from a "manager" to place blame on the paying customer is comical. Yes, so glad you can do without my business. Hey, Megan, you "always" think it's funny when someone brings up a concern? How often do these customer complaints occur where your shop rings up extra items for unsuspecting customers? "Always?" How likely do people complain on the spot knowing an establishment handles their food preparation? Pretty alarming you find it funny, and a little tone deaf for a coffee shop off a freeway to think tired travelers would want to deal with confrontation when its typically a beeline for the restroom and coffee. Mistakes happen. I guess being dismissive and presumptive of a consumer experience can be a management style someone out there in Summerland can appreciate. Why should my experience at this establishment be worth less than anyone else's? Looking at the demographics of this little town, I can see why Red Kettle management responded the way they did. I thought the management response was a bit peculiar. Thanks for showing your true colors, Megan, Manager of Red Kettle. Hopefully this is not reflective of the establishment, especially in California in 2023. I commend your awesome attitude in light of such shortcomings. In the end, the joke is the management here. There is parking, great customer service, and you can prepare your own coffee again! Thanks to COVID, mixing my own milk, sugar, and coffee together for the best cup was dearly missed and Red Kettle made all that joy come back. I tried the dark roast and enjoyed quickly paying with my Apple Pay card on the get in and get out kind of morning I had. I slowly peered at all the awesome greeting cards and momento gifts in the front and vowed to make another trip back to Summerland when there is time! My gosh, I've been on a good coffee roll!! This place hits the SPOT. Out of all the coffee shops I've had in SB county, this one is in my top 3. I love the aesthetic of the store. Just started stopping in on way to work mornings for latte w oat milk. These guys are great. They're very cool and welcoming. The coffee they use for espresso is just strong enough flavor and caffeine wise. They are good with steaming the oat milk to a perfect latte froth. Love coming here. And they're a dollar less than all the other cafes nowadays charge 6.50-8.50 for lattes with oat or almond milk. read more
