It appears that Dunham's has cured Covid 19 because no one and I mean no one wears a mask in this store. Some of the staff doesn't even have one hanging around their necks let alone the ones that have it under their chin yawning and coughing. If your looking for sporting goods other then fishing or hunting you can almost be assured they don't have it. Be careful looking that you don't trip over skate boards laying on floor and a huge pile of weight belts stacked on floor. Will not waste my time here again and would not recommend anyone else does. read more

Asked to see a firearm specifically a pistol and the worker (older white lady) told me that I can't even hold it because it's impossible to get a pistol transferred from Indiana to ohio that I'd only be eligible to look at long guns and that would be the only thing I could transfer to a FFL dealer, I Will never buy a gun from here or anything from this place, I'll take my money where it's not going to a lazy business run by lazy people who definitely had a $1250 sale their loss. This place was really busy while I was there. I must have seen 30 people in and out of the store in just the 5 or 10 minutes I was in the store. They apparently do tremendous business. I wonder if they're still open because of the paintball business. Walking into the store, it was impressive to see more than a dozen small boats (kayaks?) out front. It seems even more packed than you'd think, as everything is too close for comfort. The aisles just seem so very narrow, and I'd wonder if things would fall from the upper shelves. That's just an impression, as I've heard nothing of the sort happening. They seemed to have just about everything you'd expect in a big sporting goods store, but in a smaller area. The automatic doors, that were probably installed during the 1960s when Gateway Shopping Center was new, are operated by people power. I can't imagine a person in a wheelchair being able to enter or navigate the store, even with help. They run quite a few advertisements in the Sunday newspaper. Their specials seemed okay though not overly inexpensive. Considering that sporting goods in Richmond go for high prices, it's good to see some discounts. read more

I was called by someone not sure if he was corporate or not. He told me that the person I talked to Saturday knows the policy and that they have been there for a long time. I reiterated that I was not told it can only come from their website. But he stands by the claim that I was. Well me being heated about it I had some choice words for him. In the end I'm out 50 bucks. Should I have handled it better? Yes. Just like they should have as well, the lady I spent most of the time talking to seemed annoyed and rude about it. I'll just let me wallet do the talking and take my business elsewhere. From the way it looked in that store, I don't think it will be around much longer. read more

I had a very disturbing experience w a young assistant manager at the Richmond indiana store named Hunter. He was visibly angry and slammed a clothes rack out of his way and into a barrier near customers. He continued this behavior and jumped over a counter. I overheard another customer comment on his behavior and when he returned, I cal)d him on his behavior of acting out. At my criticism of his actions, he became confrontational and actually approached me in an aggressive manner. I actually thought he was going to assault me at one point. I asked to speak to the store manager only to find out that he was the ranking manager in the store. I did speak to another assistant manager who actually said that Hunter has anger problems. I intend to discuss this with his store manager and general manager and corporate. I've nevervhad an experience like this in a business. read more

The customer service here is wack! I was carrying my toddler in one arm, purse and keys in the other arm. Nine year old daughter tried pushing one of the glass double doors open, didn't budge, she tried pulling, no luck. I was pretty sure they were open, there were kayaks and other items on the front sidewalk. I tried tugging at the left door, it didn't move, then I tried the right door, but with both my hands full, I didn't push hard enough. To my relief, an employee was within view and saw my daughter struggling with me and my toddler standing by. The employee TURNED AROUND AND STARTED WALKING THE OTHER DIRECTION! I yelled through the glass twice "What time do you guys open?!" It was a Sunday morning at 10:30 AM, so I thought maybe they opened at 11? The employee FINALLY walked over and pulled the door open, apparently my daughter and I didn't push hard enough. But the employee missed the WHOLE point, whether they were opened or closed, you would think she had brains enough to either 1.) Help open the door, or 2.) Come to the door to tell us they weren't open for business yet. Unfortunately, the brain cells and sense of customer service were completely lacking. The store itself was your typical discount goods store, lots of different sports gear crammed into a small space. It wasn't "neat" or "spacious" like other larger sports stores, but I get its a discount store so you will sacrifice aesthetics in order to have low prices. If my girl didn't have to cheer that afternoon, I would have purchased her cheer shoes elsewhere due to the awful first impression with the ridiculous door debacle. But Sunday shopping in Richmond is scarce, we didn't have much choice. I guarantee the next time I need sports equipment my dollar is going elsewhere. It's really too bad, their prices seemed good and they had some ice skates that were well priced. But I refuse to reward bad customer service. Going to Kessler's next time, they were actually our first choice but they are closed on Sundays. read more

I have been very happy with this local store yes it's busy. But that's a good thing. Service is always great went to local Dicks Sports. No one ask to help me. Manager was rude to me when I went in 45 minutes before closing time. They had goods out in the aisles to restock and when I tried to step around them, he intentionally blocked my way and asked me what he could help me find. Maybe he thought I was up to something nefarious, but it was a very bizarre display of behavior. Almost appeared like they didn't want any customers. Probably go to Wal-Mart next time.... read more
