This Dunkin is within Maryland House on Route 95. It is one of ten or so food/service outlets in that spacious facility. Used to be you could count on the former DD to provide consistency in coffee and their baked goods. Not so much anymore. Probably because public water systems are too heavily treated with chemicals for health reasons, their java can now be based on "hard" or "soft" water that completely change the bite from the brew, usually to bad effect. Here, at least, the joe is stable and decent, and carries well on the long drive home. Same can't be said for their donuts. We sampled a few (sour cream, glazed sticks, blueberry)and found them all to be overly crumbly. Each bite or broken off small part of their circumference had pieces of dough and sugar falling in our laps no matter how careful we tried to be. Even attempts to vacuum each bite with focused inhalations failed to capture the runaways. Not wanting to deal with the cleanup, we opted to roll the bagtop closed and wait until we were free of the car to finish them. read more

Waited over 25 minutes for breakfast, which apparently gave them plenty of time to make sure the hash browns were soggy and the sausage, egg, and cheese were cold. At the Maryland House rest stop, and a hankering for donuts took me to the pre-re-branded Dunkin' Donuts occupying the East Side of the food hall. A strawberry glazed and a chocolate glazed, both with sprinkles (of course!). All as expected, but they did NOT accept the Dunkin' app. Ugh - big disappointment, I have to say. I normally like stopping off at the Maryland house rest stops for breaks, food and to fuel up. But the Dunkin' Donuts inside Maryland house has become HORRIFIC!!! #dunkindonuts I pop in for a coffee and a wrap- the line is 10 people deep- can't use the on the go app it doesn't work inside there. So you have to wait 20 min to get through the kiosk line (they shut down counter ordering so allllll those non digital people who don't know how to order? Yeah you're waiting for them as they figure it out) to wait another 15 min for your overpriced (yes!!! Way More expensive here. $4.77 for a Medium hot coffee) and then when handed to me? Luke warm bath water coffee. And worst part?? Because you can't use the on the to app, I can't get the rewards for spending!! I paid $30.00 for 2 coffees, 2 wraps and 6 donuts. Other than death is there a human speed slower than reverse. This rest area pickpocket otherwise known as Dunkin' is stupefyingly slow - or at least 95% of the way towards full blown rigor mortis. A medium coffee with milk and Splenda should not take 25 minutes to make on a sleepy Saturday morning. I adamantly avoid Dunkin' because they defiantly refuse any form of self-service thinking their customers are going to make bank absconding with an extra creamer. However, on this highway to hell there's simply no choice in the matter. So here I stand nervously waiting for an overdue Amelia Earhart to check-in and bring my coffee at the same time. I rolled in here about 11:00 pm one evening on the way down I-95 Southbound from PHL towards Washington Dulles International Airport. I still had a couple of hours of driving left and needed to keep the ole eyelids propped open and the brain alert. Horrible avoid if possible! On my way to Arlington with my sister we stop to grab my favorite DD and there are signs posted the app not available. I ask the person taking my order how long its been down he said TWO WEEKS!!!! Really! Then said its best not to use your app at this location because you wont receive perks!!!!!! Well I had perks already on my app that I wanted to use and before I saw the signs the app was not working I just added value to my card on the app. Tables dirty flies around. This place is a disorganized disaster. There's a sign at the back of the line saying there's two lines so people were forming two but then it was a free for all deciding who was next because the cashier was clueless. There was no order in which the drinks came out, we waited 16 minutes for a single latte (I didn't get food because they didn't have anything! Judging by the other reviews, I'm glad they didn't.) During the ridiculous amount of time we waited for our order I witnessed every woman employee roll her eyes at customers and the man just laughs in their face. They seemed to be understaffed but hello, remove the two line sign if there's one line and make the orders in order. read more

One star is exactly right here. If you see the automated order system and no actual cashier run run run. It looks new and cool but is the worst automated order system I have ever used. It took forever to click through to order a simple coffee. And at the end it told me order cancelled and then gave me an order number (which was actually fulfilled). We stopped at this location which is inside the Maryland house to fill up and grab some tea and breakfast before jumping on the road again. First I will say I completely take into consideration that currently hiring is tough and there are a lot of understaffed companies right now and as a result to expect longer wait times. When we arrived there were only 2 other people waiting for their items and one of the young ladies working did advise us we had to place our order at the Kiosk first as she was not taking orders at the register. It took about 30 minutes to receive our items. We ordered 2 Chai teas, a bagel, and an egg and cheese croissant. All of it was bad. The Chai teas were made incorrectly and tasted like coffee. I told the employee the order received was incorrect and she tried to convince me the Chai teas are supposed to be made with espresso. I told her I just wanted a plain chai tea and I was wondering if perhaps I ordered incorrectly? She told me no, every other location else was just making it wrong...ok sure. I asked if it could be remade without the coffee and she advised then that would just be hot milk and chai syrup and proceeded to make it as such which may have been fine if it was equal parts but it was definitely more hot milk. The bagel was hard and tasted stale, as well as the croissant. $14 is a little tough to swallow for a meal that wasn't satisfying at all. We ended up stopping at a Starbucks and Mcdonalds later at another exit just to replace that meal before continuing our trip. I really hope they can resolve their staffing issue and are able to fulfill the orders more timely especially being that this location is at a stop that is mainly geared to travelers. But also perhaps they only offer a very selective menu in the meantime to speed up service and provide more quality items. read more

All I have to say is that I have been in line for 20 minutes. TWENTY. There are 6 people behind the counter and only one of them is actually working. The others seem slow and distracted. It's a Dunkin at a rest stop...staffed by some young kids. Give me a consistent cup of coffee and I'm a pretty happy guy. So this DD works...I mean, it's clean, the staff is friendly enough (though a little scatterbrained), and the coffee was fine. I've been here twice over the past week and don't have any gripes. I will say, as with everything at a rest stop on the I-95 corridor, the coffee and food here is expensive...but as long as you know that going in the door, you're fine. Normally, rest stop businesses are pretty quick, knowing that people are on the go. Unfortunately, this Dunkin location is a disappointment. On our way to ny, we stop here for breakfast. They were the only ones open at the early time. There were more than enough staff to operate each station. There was already a huge group of people waiting for their food when we placed our orders. It seems that even though they take your name for the order, the ones who prepare the beverages still get confused as to who gets what. I timed it, it took almost 20 minutes for us to get our order (2 breakfast sandwiches, a tea and a sweet tea). My friend and i even switched places to each use the restroom. I'm not entirely sure what the big hold up is. I had to do another trip a day later, and we found ourselves at the same dunkin. Before i could recommend another location, my companions were already set to go there. I wanted to give this location a second try, but again, very slow service. 13 minutes to get a medium coffee and sweet tea - and they had plenty of staff. They didn't want to replace the creamer that had gone low after 6 people mentioned it, and also caught attitude with some of the customers. This dunkin may be convenient since it is in the rest area, but i would avoid this location and go to another one. read more

Good lord it's painful watching this crew work. If you told me that they were not Dunkin' Donut employees, I would believe you. I've stopped here everyday for the past week, and they have yet to get a drink right. Not just mine, mind you, but ANY drink. Like a well oiled machine, you simply stand off to the side and watch customer after customer hand their drink back and ask that it be fixed. Lattes come out looking like a coke, and coffee comes out looking like a sandwich. I have no idea what is happening here. WORST DONUT PLACE IN THE PLANET! Cashier Djohn (thats him on the picture) is so slow he can beat the sloth as the slowest moving creature in the planet. He just stared at us holding the box of donut pointing at the donuts like Vanna White. I guess he wants us to read his mind instead of asking "what donuts would you like?". Big rip-off!!! You have to order from their kiosk which has a hand written sign next to stating "no bagels, no hot drinks" and several other no items. As I was standing in line to order, I heard a customer arguing with the woman behind the counter. He was complaining that he spent $25. I didn't get the whole story but he was very upset and walked away. I ordered a muffin and went to the counter. Loretta, the woman behind the counter, told me that the order didn't come up on her screen so she couldn't give me anything. We gave her the order number and had two witnesses that said we paid but her attitude was "too bad". When I asked for a manager she said was a supervisor. Another employee had watched the whole thing and came forward. VERY reluctantly Loretta tossed something in a bag and flung it at me. 4/17/2017 2:40pm. The most poorly run Dunkin' Donuts I've ever been to. With over thirty people on line and at least seven employees and two managers I still waited on line for over twenty minutes at this I 95 rest stop. There was only one cashier. She and the one guy preparing the coffees seemed to be the only ones working. The manager finally put another person on register who promptly took a phone call from his cell and went to the side to chat. Another manager started to shout his name for him to return and he ignored her. When it was my turn he had returned to tell me that they didn't have caramel lattes. This place has terrible customer service. People are desperate for coffee when they are at a rest stop. The people that work at this Dunkin' Donuts don't care.
