    Iced coffee
    Marissa D.

So I have been coming to this Dunkin for a while now. They used to be on my commute to work and I would stop at them regularly. I stopped going to them all together and started going to the Starbucks down the road due to their inconsistency in the quality of their iced coffee. Fast forward, it has been several months since I last visited them and decided to stop since I was in the area and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Well, nothing has changed. I ordered a medium iced coffee with caramel and cream and the cup is 70% ice. This was a consistent issue when I used to come to them. If the cup wasn't entirely ice, then the iced coffee was watery and bitter. My boyfriend ordered a strawberry coolatta which is so bitter it is undrinkable, and has so much ice it's more the consistency of a snow cone. The staff is hit or miss. Some of the staff is very friendly and happy to fix the drink. While other staff is rude and annoyed that you said anything. Half the time even if they do remake your drink it is the same poor quality as the first. I waited a long to write this review as I used to be a barista and understand we all have bad days. But this Dunkin is consistently poor quality and seems to have made no efforts toward improvement. Save your money and go to one of the other Dunkin's in the area.

You are telling me this is 7 DOLLARS?!!?

TRASH AND RUDE! Like this place is just trash like that is the nicest way I can put it. I didn't want any ice because I had a 20 mins drive to a friends house and it would have been water down and she refused to even fill it half way because "ice is a filler"

OAT MILK. She thought it was funny?

Not sure who hired "Ebony" I ordered an iced coffee with oat milk asked her for more oat because my coffee looked black, she gave me a cup of oat milk instead! I walked inside she wants to quickly correct herself before I start going off talking about "I mixed up your order" so can someone confirm that they go thru Dunkin to order straight oat milk? Please do better with hiring your workers. And I have a name and it's not "queen" I am not the one you want to play with thank you!!!

I asked for it toasted and I got burnt . They need to ask them selves would I eat this before serving food to others.

I go here every morning between 8 and 10, and they are always so quick and polite. Their food is as good as you would expect from a coffee place, and it always makes me feel luxurious. Thank you to my Dunkin' service workers! They are worth waiting in the construction that is going on right now lol!

Towards the rear, there are racks of spices, a very small frozen food section (one freezer) and some produce. I'm guessing they don't actually sell any of the produce - it's probably just there as storage until they cook everything? The real magic of the store is in the back, where there's a small counter serving all sorts of delicious goodies. On a Saturday for lunch, there was a steady stream of customers picking up orders and eating. Just be aware that this is a family owned establishment that takes time to prepare food - lunch was supposed to start at 11:30AM, but they didn't have most of the menu ready until around 12:30PM. For people who are less patient, there is a prepared food counter with various meats and stews and a display with some fried foods. We opted for a couple of items: Fritura Mixta ($18.50) - Wow, this is a giant plate of fried meat and tostones. Deep fried beef, pork, chicken, longanisa, each one seasoned and drained well. Not greasy or oily at all. This is seriously a meat overload, in retrospect, we should have ordered a couple of additional sides because, to be honest, we aren't huge meat eaters. Still delicious. It took about 20 minutes to come out because everything was fried fresh. Cheese Bollitos ($2.50) - Think of a fried mashed potato croquette with a slightly different yucca flavor profile. These fried pastries aren't fried to order - instead they are probably fried in the morning and stuck in a heated display cabinet until they are ordered. They don't have the best crisp exterior and aren't exactly piping hot, but they are still good. Chicken and Cheese Empanada ($3) - These were definitely differently shaped vs. other empanadas I've had. Quite a long half moon filled with well seasoned chicken and rich cheese. Similar to the bollitos, these are not fried to order. We went back a couple of weeks later for some of the items on the dinner menu (only available after 5PM) that aren't served during lunch. It took around 25 minutes this time for the food to come out. Chimi de Pierna ($13) - This sandwich consisted of pulled pork, red cabbage, onions, and tomato on a super pillowy bun. The ingredients were heavily seasoned with a sweet and somewhat vinegery sauce that was quite similar to a bbq sauce. Be careful eating this one - since the bun is so soft, the ingredients start spilling out with every bite. Mofongo ($20) - Super garlicky, pretty classic mofongo mashed with chicharrones. Our meat of choice was additional chicharrones - super well fried with a great crisp and chewy fat. It came with two small containers of sauce that was not a normal mojo de ajo. It was limey, porky, very fresh, and paired perfectly with the carbs and proteins. I would definitely get this again. As a side note - they charge a 4% credit card fee. La Bodego is a great addition to the area. Definitely stop by to get some good Dominican food!

The owner is community orientated and likes to give back to the youth that need it. I love supporting businesses that put their money towards causes and initiatives that help build people up. The feel inside the shop is welcoming and feels like home. It is clean and bright. The location is in a nice friendly neighborhood. You can tell the meals are prepared with love and aren't made with bulk ingredients instead they are all fresh and savory. I would highly recommend supporting small businesses and especially this one! Go in today to get authentic Dominican cuisine you will not be disappointed! I recommend the empanadas they are great!

He also mentioned pepperoni rolls, which I haven't had in a long time and Is pretty popular among folks in the Detroit area! The lady at the counter was fantastic with her Midwest welcoming approach! I order a loaf of fresh baked Italian bread along 3 pepperoni rolls. Counter lady mentioned to heat one up with cheese to eat on the spot! Which I did! Bread was soft and so tasty, reminds me of Cuban bread of south Florida. The warm pepperoni inside with melted mozzarella of the pepperoni roll hit the spot! I know why they are so popular now! All day!!! Tried a slice of the Italian bread too. Exactly how I figured it would taste but much better than any store bought! Places like this should always be around to create these great memories of good food!

Jack's Italian Bakery is very recognizable off the street with the Italian flag colors on full…read moredisplay. The interior of the bakery is quite small - it only has enough space inside for a couple of customers. There are several small display cases with a small amount of various cookies and strudels, and one hot case with $1.75 slices of pizza. To be honest, the sweets and pizza don't seem to be very high volume, so I only went for their famous pepperoni roll. Double/Double Pepperoni Roll ($5) - Wow this thing is massive! Basically a huge 8 inch sub filled over the brim (literally - there were cheese shreds flying all over the bag) with pepperoni and shredded cheese. They offered to heat it up for me in the store, but I elected to take it home cold and heat up later. This thing barely fit in my toaster oven. Fluffy bread with salty and slightly spicy pepperoni and melty mozzerella. I ate a little over half and was pretty full. Delicious and cheap - what else could you ask from a pepperoni roll? You definitely can't go wrong with Jack's for the pepperoni rolls.
