Located in a downtown area, place is pretty big, with a lot of cool seating. Woman working behind the counter was friendly and worked me through their coffee choices. I went with their house dark roast, they roast their own beans. They also use real mugs for customers that are staying to enjoy the coffee. That really adds to the experience. This time I stepped away from my usual order and tried the Mediterranean Salad, and I'm glad I did! It comes topped with grilled chicken and is served with pita slices and hummus. Everything worked together perfectly--it was fresh, flavorful, filling, and just really good! My usual go-to, though, is The Hurdle--turkey, bacon, Gouda cheese, sesame ginger dressing, lettuce, and tomato on panini bread. I definitely customize mine : no tomato, extra bacon, no dressing, and I prefer it cold instead of hot. So good! I also had a mocha with an extra espresso shot and extra chocolate , while my daughter and my mom enjoyed breakfast. What really makes BeanRunner special is the atmosphere. You can sit inside or outside, and the whole place gives me a cool Brooklyn lounge/café feel. Inside, you have beautiful authentic brick walls, plants thoughtfully placed throughout the seating areas, and curated artwork displayed on the walls--some of which is even available for purchase. Smooth jazz and R&B playing in the background just adds to the vibe. They cater to and strongly support local artists and musicians which is very cool! There's also a back patio, a quieter separate seating room away from the main floor, and outdoor seating with umbrellas. The outdoor area gives me a little Fort Greene/Lafayette triangle vibe, which I really enjoy. And BeanRunner is more than just a café. They have live music on weekends, and from what I'm told, they have a GOOD time! They also host poetry slams and open mics, which adds even more character to the place. They serve desserts and smoothies too, so there's plenty beyond coffee and sandwiches. The location is tucked back on Esther Place in Peekskill, across from the large Assumption Church building, and that may honestly be BeanRunner's biggest disadvantage. I truly believe that if this place weren't so tucked away, they'd be packed every day. Great food, great coffee, beautiful atmosphere, music, art, plants, indoor and outdoor seating--BeanRunner has a little bit of everything. Definitely a Peekskill spot worth discovering! 5 stars from me!

PCM is located on Main Street and is home to several different vendors. The building itself is a 3 story, century old industrial building (maybe historic/landmarked). The PCM has been brought back to life as a mixed-space marketplace. It is now the home to a few businesses and vendors. For my NYC folks think Chelsea market vibes but smaller. There is also an event space located in the building that can be rented for any special occasions (weddings, banquets & etc). The building is beautifully restored and visually intriguing while maintaining its rustic charm. It is so nice to see old become new and useful again. Just A Note: Kurzhals Coffee is a must try!

There's an amazing manager there, which I don't know her name. She's great, and when she's present, things are smooth. I literally buy my coffee at least twice during my day at this establishment and everytime I go at night time and said manager isn't there, it's a shit show, to say the least. Not only are these young girls, but everytime I go and the manager isn't present there is a young man always there speaking and hanging out with them. Usually I always get a passive aggressive attitude from this light skin female, dirty blonde. And the other worker, Maria. Today. I went in about 10 minutes ago tonight, earlier then usual. I walked in, and this individual was there again sitting on his phone, no one at the register or front to see if costumers are entering. I waited about 5 minutes before I proceeded to ask the boy if anyone was there, he looked at me with a nasty stance and shouted "Evelyn" she responded, and he followed with "there's a costumer" I proceeded to wait an additional 2 minutes after the fact until I got frustrated and walked out to drive to the next dunking donuts. These two girls are very passive aggressive and make me dread even walking into the establishment when the manager isn't present. I am fed up, and reached the point where now I need to speak up. Let's work on better customer service and less CHILDREN doing NIGHT shifts. read more

Being bi-lingual myself it's always good to remember many people hablan espanol even if they don't look like it. The incident occurred on July 13, 2026, at approximately 3:24 p.m. The order was placed inside the store. I want to begin by noting that the female cashier who assisted my wife was very nice and professional. The concern involves a young, dark-skinned male employee working behind the counter. I mention this description only to help identify the employee involved. He appeared young enough that he could have been my son. My wife ordered a grande beverage, but her order was not prepared correctly. She also noticed that her name was not called and that the male employee did not make a reasonable effort to communicate with her about the order. When my wife asked whether there were any napkins, the employee responded by asking, "Did you check?" and then handed her a stack of napkins. His tone and manner came across as dismissive. Immediately afterward, he returned to warmly engaging with another customer, who was a white woman, and her child. What troubled my wife was the noticeable change in his behavior. With the other customer, he was friendly, attentive, conversational, and apologetic while discussing a drink that had been made incorrectly. With my wife, however, he appeared abrupt, dismissive, and uninterested in assisting her, even though her drink had also been made incorrectly. I hate to raise the issue of race, but my wife could not understand another reason for such a sudden and significant difference in the employee's behavior. She walked away feeling that she may have been treated differently because she is brown-skinned. We cannot know the employee's intentions with certainty, but the contrast in his tone, attentiveness, and overall treatment was obvious to her and left her feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. Both my wife and I frequently visit this Starbucks location, as well as the Starbucks located at 3025 East Main Street, Mohegan Lake, NY 10547. My wife regularly visits both locations and has never experienced anything like this before. My wife told me about the experience afterward. She did not want to file a complaint, but I felt compelled to submit this review because customers should not leave feeling as though they were treated differently or dismissed without reason. I am not requesting an investigation or disciplinary action. I am bringing this matter to Starbucks' attention so that the employee can receive appropriate customer-service training and understand the importance of treating every customer with the same level of courtesy, patience, and respect.
