BeanRunner Café - A Peekskill Gem!…read more I've been to BeanRunner many times, and it continues to be one of those unique spots in Peekskill that has its own personality and vibe. This time I stepped away from my usual order and tried the Mediterranean Salad, and I'm glad I did! It comes topped with grilled chicken and is served with pita slices and hummus. Everything worked together perfectly--it was fresh, flavorful, filling, and just really good! My usual go-to, though, is The Hurdle--turkey, bacon, Gouda cheese, sesame ginger dressing, lettuce, and tomato on panini bread. I definitely customize mine : no tomato, extra bacon, no dressing, and I prefer it cold instead of hot. So good! I also had a mocha with an extra espresso shot and extra chocolate , while my daughter and my mom enjoyed breakfast. What really makes BeanRunner special is the atmosphere. You can sit inside or outside, and the whole place gives me a cool Brooklyn lounge/café feel. Inside, you have beautiful authentic brick walls, plants thoughtfully placed throughout the seating areas, and curated artwork displayed on the walls--some of which is even available for purchase. Smooth jazz and R&B playing in the background just adds to the vibe. They cater to and strongly support local artists and musicians which is very cool! There's also a back patio, a quieter separate seating room away from the main floor, and outdoor seating with umbrellas. The outdoor area gives me a little Fort Greene/Lafayette triangle vibe, which I really enjoy. And BeanRunner is more than just a café. They have live music on weekends, and from what I'm told, they have a GOOD time! They also host poetry slams and open mics, which adds even more character to the place. They serve desserts and smoothies too, so there's plenty beyond coffee and sandwiches. The location is tucked back on Esther Place in Peekskill, across from the large Assumption Church building, and that may honestly be BeanRunner's biggest disadvantage. I truly believe that if this place weren't so tucked away, they'd be packed every day. Great food, great coffee, beautiful atmosphere, music, art, plants, indoor and outdoor seating--BeanRunner has a little bit of everything. Definitely a Peekskill spot worth discovering! 5 stars from me!

My go-to will always be the strawberry matcha latte; it's that drink I keep coming back to; but lately I've been branching out and trying new things, and they've all been just as good. The blueberry matcha latte was so good, and their spring special, the fig and honey matcha latte, was on another level. When I say you really can't go wrong here, I mean it. Everything I've tried has been consistently good, and that's what keeps me coming back.

All had chestnut popping bubbles because they had no regular boba available at the time. Yes.. a boba milk tea place without boba. Assam milk tea-meh, not all that. Ube latte-it is Just milk with a little ube extract, no tea flavor whatsoever and barely even any ube flavor. Pumpkin milk tea- i like pumpkin spice, but holy heck this tasted like they poured 15 pounds of it into a small cup. All i tasted was a ton of pumpkin spice, not even a tiny amount of tea. Overall: likely won't go back to, was not a fan, rather go to matcha thomas in cold spring.

The donut was very crumbly and a bit hard to eat but having it around the straw helped especially at an event like this where you don't want to get your hands too dirty with finger foods. I felt that there could be more apple cider flavor because despite what you can see in the picture, there's a LOT of ice cream in there!! But overall loved the creative seasonal options!

As a…read moreloyal customer of over 20 years, I have had consistently positive experiences with their bakery for every occasion! However, the recent visits for my daughter's graduation cake were unsatisfactory. During both my initial visit and follow-up visit, the staff seemed unwelcoming and gave the impression that we were an inconvenience. I showed the baker a pic of my daughter's high school graduation cake and said I wanted almost the exact design but different logo and he made a disgusted face when he looked at a picture of it. I saw the look on his face and asked him what was wrong. I told him I got the cake from them and he didn't believe me because he doesn't remember making it. When I requested a cake featuring my daughter's school logo in fondant, the baker was hesitant due to the heat. I completely understand fondant doesn't do well in warm weather but the last one in my opinion was excellent. My suggestions for the design were not given due consideration. Given the $300 price tag, I believe customers deserve better than to feel dismissed and expect a more accommodating service. I will update my review once I pick up the cake to see how it comes out.
