I am submitting a complaint regarding an experience my wife had at the Starbucks located at 3228 Crompond Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598. The incident occurred on July 13, 2026, at approximately 3:24 p.m. The order was placed inside the store. I want to begin by noting that the female cashier who assisted my wife was very nice and professional. The concern involves a young, dark-skinned male employee working behind the counter. I mention this description only to help identify the employee involved. He appeared young enough that he could have been my son. My wife ordered a grande beverage, but her order was not prepared correctly. She also noticed that her name was not called and that the male employee did not make a reasonable effort to communicate with her about the order. When my wife asked whether there were any napkins, the employee responded by asking, "Did you check?" and then handed her a stack of napkins. His tone and manner came across as dismissive. Immediately afterward, he returned to warmly engaging with another customer, who was a white woman, and her child. What troubled my wife was the noticeable change in his behavior. With the other customer, he was friendly, attentive, conversational, and apologetic while discussing a drink that had been made incorrectly. With my wife, however, he appeared abrupt, dismissive, and uninterested in assisting her, even though her drink had also been made incorrectly. I hate to raise the issue of race, but my wife could not understand another reason for such a sudden and significant difference in the employee's behavior. She walked away feeling that she may have been treated differently because she is brown-skinned. We cannot know the employee's intentions with certainty, but the contrast in his tone, attentiveness, and overall treatment was obvious to her and left her feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. Both my wife and I frequently visit this Starbucks location, as well as the Starbucks located at 3025 East Main Street, Mohegan Lake, NY 10547. My wife regularly visits both locations and has never experienced anything like this before. My wife told me about the experience afterward. She did not want to file a complaint, but I felt compelled to submit this review because customers should not leave feeling as though they were treated differently or dismissed without reason. I am not requesting an investigation or disciplinary action. I am bringing this matter to Starbucks' attention so that the employee can receive appropriate customer-service training and understand the importance of treating every customer with the same level of courtesy, patience, and respect. Last night I went to the drive through, I paid for three drinks. The Venti Mocha cookie frap did not have the lid snapped on. The drink overflowed outside and inside the car and on my clothes. So, I order almost every morning as I work from home. I noticed lately that they will turn off the doordash and option for delivery service on their app. Things get busy, but there is zero reason to turn it off. I dont know if a manager or corporate knows about this, but they definitely will. I am tired of people being lazy. I seriously can't say enough good things about the staff here. Everyone is so kind, professional, and clearly cares about creating a great experience. They are a very high traffic Starbucks and work their hardest to get everything out. I need to give a special shout-out to Patrick. He's one of those rare managers who leads by example. I've seen Patrick handle some incredibly tough situations with so much calm and grace--while always fiercely protecting and supporting his team. People like Patrick are the reason places like this feel welcoming and safe. You can tell the team respects him, and it shows in how well everything runs.. If you need to stop and grab something on the way to work, this is not that kind of Starbucks. The mornings here are pure chaos. The employees are completely overwhelmed and it shows. It shows in the customer service and quality of the product. Went in for a latte and ordered it inside. There were a ton of drinks and goods sitting on the table waiting for pickup. Took a few minutes for someone to notice me since all workers were working on door dash and drive thru orders. After THIRTY MINUTES of waiting for my single coffee, I was late for work and needed to leave. Took me a few minutes to be noticed again to get a refund. This must happen all the time because the manager actually didn't speak she just pointed to the scanner so that I would scan my app for a refund. She didn't even try to tell me it'll be right out or find out how long I'd been waiting. No customer service at all and a complete waste of my time. Now I am late for work with NO coffee for the day. Have seen "copy-cat"recipes of this particular cake even on social media. Well, low and behold after just ONE bite I've confirmed that this is an exact duplication of my late Moms recipe to a "tea" lol. No pun intended bc they do sell tea! Just wished their cakes would be packed in waxed paper within the paper bag as a good portion of the cakes adhered to the inside of the bag. The worst Starbucks in America! If you are passing through, just keep driving and find another Starbucks. Unfortunately I live in the area so I'm stuck going from time to time. It is not managed well, everyone needs to be retrained. They sit the orders on the counter and walk away without calling your name so every one has to walk over to see if it's their drink. When they put the drinks down, they down face the label where you can read it so everyone has to touch the drinks to see who it belongs to. When you order food, they make all the food at once and bring over ten orders at a time instead of bringing a few orders over as things are in the oven so some orders are fresh and others are not. Teenagers work there on the weekends and in the summer and there are unprofessional shift managers that yell at them when they mess up and try to embarrass them instead of leading by example. If the wait time on the app says 8-11 minutes bet on 20 especially in the morning or on weekends. Whatever experience you think of when you think of Starbucks you won't get at this location so just keep driving unless you have no other choice. read more

A ok Starbucks that happens to be across the street from my pals office in Westchester and while pal is doing his boring office biz shenanigans, I am sitting in a semi empty buckys at 10 pm while enjoying a hot decaffeinated cappy and a blueberry muffin with no care in the world and free strong wifi makes it even better .Good amount of seating and seats by the back area is perfect for some privacy or avoiding people you don't want to see or deal with . So this may be the best Starbucks I have been in in some time! Admittedly, I rarely do Starbucks but from time to time I order a 'venti sweetened ice coffee.' The drive-thru was slammin' so I went inside which unfortunately wasn't much better. The order taker asked me if I had the app, which I did not. He explained that if I had the app, my iced order would be half-price that day. He also answered my question that my beverage had 6-pumps of sweetener, and overheard him telling the preparer to ensure it got 6--which it did! Despite how busy they were, they were pushing these drinks out! In the (long) time I was unfortunately waiting, no one returned their drink or complained. We laughed because I mentioned that I've NEVER, EVER been able to get a simple 'venti sweetened ice coffee' CORRECT at their other location in the Cortlandt Town Center on Rt. 6 in Mohegan Lake--a store that should be closed by the company! read more

I've been to the drive through at this location maybe 40 or 50 times since it opened and I can say with authority: SLOW. AS. EFF. Probably even slower. Coffee is great and staff is very friendly, but dear lord in heaven, if there are more than a couple cars in the line, you're better off driving to the flagship store in Washington state- you'll get your drink faster. Having been a long time resident of the Yorktown Heights area, I was unable to visit this new location due to the pandemic. Needless to say, my experience today exceeded my expectations. Not only is the facility clean, bright and airy with a modern woodsy sensibility, but the staff is incredibly hardworking, cheerful, and really goes out of their way to cater to everyone's needs. The drive-through lane was consistently full of patrons, and not once did I hear a staff member complain or trade jokes. The music is wonderfully subtle, not too grating, and the internet connection was stable throughout my four hour laptop usage. I also noticed the male manager assisting whenever there was a need. This is how superb service in any industry should be done - the needs of the customer are the most paramount. The customer service is lacking. I waited 40 minutes for a coffee, but that's not why it's 2 stars. The barista was saying they're around half an hour behind so after 40 minutes I asked when my coffee would be ready and told him that I ordered 40 minutes ago. The guy behind the counter contends that if it's not there it hasn't been 40 minutes. I'm not sure challenging the customer's ability to tell time is the best response. I told him I ordered on the app (which I pulled up to triple check) and based on when the app says I ordered and the current time it is indeed 40 minutes. Then he says that someone must've taken my order by accident and "it happens". I know it happens, but that's not the proper response, especially after falsely accusing me of being wrong about the time. They then make my order next and it's the wrong size (a smaller size) so they remake it again. At least the coffee was good. read more

Sometimes can be slow at rush hours but are very thorough. One time they accidentally handed my drink to somebody else and then when I came to pick it up they remade it for me but the guy that gave it to me didn't know if it was made with oat milk or not, I'm lactose intolerant, so he remade it himself and brought it out to my car. read more

The store says it closes at 10pm and I got there at 9:25pm went to go through the front door it was locked and employees just stared at me the lights were on so I decided to try to go through the drive thru when I pulled the screen was on 30 seconds later screens were off, drove around and employees were getting in theirs car at 9:30. read more
