I've stopped here twice and I don't think I'll be back. Donuts are marginal and service is impersonal and chaotic.

Impeccable service and amazing food. The lobby was tidy and spotless. I will be here every single day no matter the circumstances.

Greenbush has quite a selection and we found out you can also place a specialty order within 24 hours of desired pickup. Longer business hours than most other bakeries / donut shops. Interior is spacious and inviting if you choose to sit down to enjoy your bakery goodies. They also have a small area set aside as a "gift shop". Staff is very friendly and helpful when trying to decide what you want from all the delicious choices. Highly recommend Greenbush Bakery!

I was excited to try donuts from Greenbush Bakery for a quick breakfast, the reviews looked great…read more The bakery was a short drive from my hotel in a small shopping plaza. The bakery is a nice combination of a new store with plenty of old school feel. The donuts are displayed both in the glass cases up front and on the trays on the back wall. The selection is very good with plenty of donut styles and flavors. I ended up getting an apple cinnamon sour cream donut and a chocolate filled stick. Donut prices were a bit expensive, $4.65 for 2 donuts. The donuts were OK, but not great, a bit dry and not as flavorful as I would expect. The apple cinnamon flavor was a bit muted and the filling of the stick was chocolate pudding rather then chocolate creme. I would have liked to try one of the apple fritters, while they were huge $5 seemed excessive. If the other donuts were better I might have grabbed one the next day for the drive home. Maybe my expectations were too high but I just found Greenbush Bakery to be a bit of a disappointment. Certainly not bad, but I have had much better donuts.

This review is for Oakhouse @ the Capitol Square Farmers' Market (CSFM) location…read more They are not exactly an underground bakery at the Farmers' Market, but they certainly don't get their deserved props. Oakhouse's delights include breads, donuts, scones and specialties are loaded. There are other bakeries at the market including Stella's. Based on the crowds and the number of reviewers on Yelp, Stella's gets all the love. However, based on my consumption of their breads and pastries while also comparing prices and customer service, Oakhouse backhands Stella's with a silicone pastry brush (granted, Stella's has the moistest and most flavorful cheese danishes in the area). I have always appreciated Oakhouse's efficiency and consistency. They are very organized package bakery perfectly. I never had anything smushed by being jammed in (like other places). They rarely struggle with stocking or maintaining an attractive display. I have never felt ignored or frustrated by cash handlers. These are amazing accomplishments factoring in the madness of the CSFM. My change your life recommendation is their Napoleon. It is the eclair's hotter sibling. Oakhouse's offering is a ginormous & gorgeous pile of puff pastry, vanilla cream and vanilla/chocolate glaze decadence. The layer offers dynamic and perfect flavor combinations vs. the eclair's often disappointing cream to pastry ratio. Next time you go to the CSFM... sting Stella's and make a beeline to Oakhouse. They may be -1 on product marketing, but more thank make up for it on their delicious delivery. Once you save time, a little cash and make your sweet tooth sparkle, you can thank me later.

I know Regent Market Co-Op carries some of their breads. Their Cinnamon bread is decidedly cinnamony, but much too dense and dry for my liking. The Spicy Cheese bread was good, but I found that it falls short of Stella's version of this specialty. Despite the less-than-spectacular nature of what I've tried, I certainly plan on giving Oakhouse another shot. I'm hoping to dig into some of their donuts next time, of course :)

I found this one after seeing all the positive reviews and thought it even had a drive thru, but turns out it didn't (I think that's more of an Apple Maps issue). No big deal, we decided to head inside instead and glad we did. The place was so cozy and fully leaning into fall and Halloween vibes! From the decor to the overall atmosphere, it felt warm and festive in the best way. Their menu was super creative and seasonal too, with lots of drink options (they even serve beer, which was unexpected but cool)! Our barista mentioned she was still in training, and I appreciated her honesty and kindness. The drinks came out okay, we ordered a Pumpkin espresso, which came lightly flavored and the other, Banana Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso was a bit strong, it tasted mostly espresso with the flavors either not in the beverage or not quite blended in. I did like how she offered different milk options, that was a nice touch. I also noticed some cups had cute pumpkin toppers, which was an adorable detail (mine didn't have one, but I noticed others did). Overall, it was a cute stop with nice service and a great vibe. If this happened to be nearby when we visit again, I wouldn't mind giving it another shot.

Our food was very very good and that's the reason this place was full. The biscuit stack was put together in a very unique way but all the ingredients tasted great. It was a nice find for someone from out of town. I recommend this place and would visit again if i'm in the area again.

It was off the highway, so I thought I would give it a go. Walked in and it was what you would expect from a Wisconsin diner -- old carpeting, waitresses who are lifers, and signage from the bygone era. I sat at the bar, with barstools that came about 4 feet off the ground, and asked the cordially waitress what was good. She rattled off about 3/4 of the breakfast menu so I needed a few minutes. A few minutes passed and I went with the Krab Cakes Benedict (why the K?) and the Cottage Platter. The crab cakes were decent (definitely better than the Cottage Platter), but very crisp on the outside, straddling the line of burnt, and somewhat cooked on the inside. Light on the seasoning. As they say on the cooking shows, it was screaming for some acidity...or in this case some Old Bay. Then the Cottage Platter, which I was very much looking forward to, fell flat for me. The hashbrowns had a funky taste to them, which I couldn't quite place. And again, overall, the dish was lacking in flavor. Would I go out of my way to hit this place up again? Most likely not. If I was in the area and wanted to try something else, I probably would.

Pistachio one was my favorite. There were many Asian ice creams. Propitious mango was a good one. There were a lot of small food places in the food hall. I tried food from a lot of different places. The food hall had a lot of seats, and was neatly maintained. It was never crowded. Kawasaki is close to the entry of Global Market. So the first time I was there, I went straight to this place. I had a Chicken katsu rice bowl. It was one of the best food I had in the food hall. Display had some very delicious and cute cakes. Next time I should try some of that. Taiwan Street has nice pho and bubble tea. I went for a pistachio milk shake, without bubbles. It was good. But I think I should have really went for a pho. They have a lots of sweets in display. I went for a peach swiss roll and a sesame ball. Both were good. From Dumpling House, I went for a chicken and mushroom dumpling and chinese chive pie. Both were good . It came steaming hot. I think I should have gone for some of their more favorite items like chive and pork dumpling. From Nice Flavor Stir Fry , I went for a sauteed sliced lamb with cumin. Generally this is a really flavorful dish which you cannot go wrong with. But it wasn't as good as I expected. Flavors were off, and the quality fo meat was not as good as I expected. Stir fry chicken mei fun was my favorite item from Bowl Bowl Rice. It came hot and was flavorful. I also had a tea leaf flavor egg. It was just $1. But it came with egg shell. I had to peel it. Egg was slightly less flavorful than I expected. Mochi donut is the main item in Glazed. There were some food items as well, but I didn't find takers for that. I went for 3 donuts - Oreo, honey dew and churro. The flavors were all interesting. May be oreo was my favorite. Donut texture was more chewy. From S&B Hmong Kitchen, I went for a fried rice from this place. It was flavorful. Cilantro and scallion on top gave a nice flavor kick. From Poké Mì, I went for a drunken noodles as my entree. It was not as good as I expected. Flavors were off. May be I should have gone for bahn mi. I haven't seen sugar cane juice anywhere else in Madison. So went for one. I thought it was just ok.
