Seems like Communitea Coffee has cracked the code to what I-- at least-- am wanting from a coffee…read moreshop, starting with matcha. I got the earl grey matcha which are two of my favorite flavors it was of course delicious. Food: They had just rolled out a new menu that includes a slice of sourdough bread and butter for 5$. I'm really working on cutting out the sweet treats (which they have plenty of) so it was perfect for me. They also have wholesome foods such as breakfast sandwiches and burritos which-- if I didn't have dinner plans after my study session-- is always appreciated as too often the food at coffee shops are sugary pastries and a bunch of empty calories. Service was friendly and personable. Communitea shows its dedication to being a warm, welcoming third-space environment. There is a shelf filled with board games and a kids play area (if you have one of those). They have assorted merchandise like coffee beans, plants, mugs, chips & snacks, etc.. There were flyers for all types of events throughout the month. I don't often write reviews I don't even live anywhere near Brea, but I would love to see this business thrive if not expand.

They have a kiddie corner area where kids can play while the adults can enjoy their beverages. We ordered their lavendar lemonade and it was so pretty to look at and quite refreshing to taste. I also ordered their Headliner which is Viet coffee with vanilla cold foam with sprinkles on top. This drink wasn't as strong as a typical Vietnamese coffee but it had a nice flavor. The Apple danish was quite delicious. Overall all 3 items rang up to be around $18 a bit pricey but the service and ambiance make up for it. Will be back here again soon to try out other beverages.

It was made with bourbon reduction, maple, hickory, sea salt, and of course, espresso & milk. Although I couldn't really taste the bourbon, all the other flavors were present from the sweet maple, smokey hickory, and occasional bursts of sea salt. Oh, and a great roast of coffee. This was a coffee drink I'd come back for again and again. The pastry case looked inviting but I was stuffed from lunch so passed. But dang, they amazed me with that smokey maple latte!

Baked goods - 5/5, I LOVE the new chicken pot pie croissant-like pastry!!! The filling is sooo delicious. Sconkies - 5/5, the scone x cookie hybrid is also a favorite. I like the density and their flavors are so fun and unique! Kimchi musubi croissant - 4/5, is very unique and savory. But can be quite salty, better heated up. Yuzu black tea - 5/5, I appreciate their decaf menu because I don't usually drink coffee or caffeinated teas. This iced tea is my new go-to. I like that it's not as sweet as their usual decaf selection.

Long-time customer, first-time reviewer…read more Smoking Tiger has one of my favorite pastries around - the Garlic Cream Cheese bread. Honestly, it's the main reason I keep coming back. The bread is soft, the garlic flavor is just right, and the cream cheese filling brings everything together perfectly. Their coffee drinks are also consistently good. My personal favorite is the Smokin' Spaniard, probably because I'm a sucker for anything made with condensed milk. It's rich, smooth, and just sweet enough without being over the top. On a recent visit, I decided to try their new Pineapple Express. It was a hot day, and I was in the mood for something fruity and refreshing without any caffeine. It was decent - light and refreshing, though it didn't quite stand out as much as their coffee drinks for me. Overall, this is still one of my favorite bakeries and coffee spots. Between the delicious pastries, solid drinks, and cozy atmosphere, it's a place I find myself returning to again and again.

This is my 5-6th time here and Ive finally perfected my order!…read more Pros: To start off, today I got the Iced Vanilla Latte and it's my new go-to! It's incredibly delicious and perfect this us my second day in a row here. My friend usually gets a flavored Matcha which is great, but got a Peach barley tea and said it was refreshing. The service is good, they get the drinks out fast. The menu has unique specialty options aswell. There is a good amount of seating and it's a very welcoming shop. Cons: -The sizing is very small for the price. A plain vanilla latte is $6.40 which is a bit steep. However, I understand that most cafes are pretty pricey now a day. (With that being said this is one of the only places i'd spend my money on.) -I have tried some of their specialty lattes and they are extremely sweet(I would recommend getting less sweet if youre more of a espresso person) -Parking is pretty terrible apart from early mornings Overall: The pros overlook the cons for me and I love this coffee shop! Worth the drive and is definitely my top 3. I would definitely recommend this place.

There was plenty of seating, making it a really comfortable place to hang out, work, or catch up with friends. Their menu had a great variety of drinks. I ordered the Horchata Latte, which was smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet. My friend and I kept going back and forth trying to decide between one of their seasonal summer drinks and something else because we knew we didn't really want another latte. The staff was incredibly patient and actually took the time to understand what we were looking for. They ended up making us a frozen banana drink with cold brew instead of espresso, and it was exactly what we wanted. Honestly, it might have been even better than the original version! That level of customer service really stood out. They didn't just make a drink--they helped us find something we'd genuinely enjoy. Both the espresso and the cold brew were incredibly smooth with no bitterness at all, and every drink tasted well-balanced. Between the welcoming atmosphere, amazing customer service, and delicious drinks, this is definitely a coffee shop I'll be coming back to. Next on my list is trying their matcha!

Vanilla Thesis is the best better than probably all the rest…read moreThe coffee is so tasty Not nasty or pasty Their cheese and ham croissant is also bomb better than being made by mom One thing to note about this place, the parking sucks. But fear not, you can go into the structure, park in one of the "employee only" spots, and just tell them which spot and you're golden (wish I knew that before I came and parked across the street). Also, another reason why this place is great is that it's not full at all. Might be because of the parking situation, but the place is near empty which makes it have a nice luxury vibe. Their Vanilla Thesis drink at 50% sweet is soooo good. It's a great blend of coffee and tastes great. You can totally taste the vanilla. Their ham and cheese croissant is also great.

However, today's visit felt different. We ordered our usual strawberry coffee drinks but they weren't pink. When I asked the barista about it she said the syrup has changed. The drinks barely tasted like strawberry and we were disappointed. I immediately regretted upgrading my size to 20oz too. SO I looked up other recent yelp reviews, and I saw that someone posted a picture of their drink 17 hours ago and it was still pink. That makes me question what happened to our drinks.

This tea house is located inside Brea Mall and has a beautiful, modern, and upscale interior…read more It can get pretty busy on weekends, so expect a bit of a wait. The staff member who took my order was nice and pleasant. I ordered the Matcha Latte. It was good, but I didn't find the flavor particularly unique or signature compared to other matcha drinks I've tried. The price was also on the higher side, especially for a medium size. One thing I really liked was the detailed nutrition information printed right on the drink label, including calories, caffeine, protein, and sodium. I haven't seen many tea shops do this, and it's a thoughtful and useful touch. Overall, the atmosphere is beautiful and the drink was decent. The nutrition labeling definitely stood out, but for the price, I was expecting the drink itself to feel a little more special.

They were doing a BOGO 1/2 off deal on their matcha drinks, so I tried the peach matcha first. Unfortunately, I couldn't taste any peach at all. It honestly felt a little gimmicky because if I didn't know it was supposed to be peach, I probably wouldn't have guessed it. For my second matcha, I got the jasmine matcha. I liked this one more because I could actually taste the jasmine tea. It was floral but also subtle and didn't overpower the matcha. That being said, I do think their matcha is on the lower quality side. I could see grains of matcha along the cup, and the drinks themselves were on the grainier side. The matcha also had a noticeable bitterness to it. I also ordered their peach oolong citrus tea. I wasn't able to adjust the sweetness, which I normally prefer to do with fruit teas. Fortunately, it wasn't too sweet, probably because of the amount of ice. I also wasn't able to adjust it to a lower ice level. I also didn't taste much citrus, so mostly tasted like a peach green tea from starbucks. Overall, this visit was a disappointment, especially since I enjoyed their Boya Jasmine Green Tea Latte so much the first time. I would still come back for that drink, but I probably wouldn't order their matcha again.
