You order at the counter but the service doesn't suffer. The woman who took our order was very pleasant & helpful as this was our first visit. The restaurant has plenty of parking in front of it. It was well-lighted, clean. You can observe it isn't some nationwide food chain and that pleased us. No hype, just great food. We'll definitely will be going back and soon!

There was a rumor we were supposed to get a Martin's but that never came to fruition. Luckily we now have an Edley's, but that's over in Gallatin. When Jim 'N Nick's was announced, I was excited because although it's not "local", it was my 2nd barbecue experience when I first moved to Tennessee back in 2009. I like everything about Jim 'N Nick's, especially those killer, unlimited cheese biscuits that are like crack when you dine in. When I walked through the doors for the first time, something seemed different... I couldn't put my finger on it until I realized they morphed this restaurant into a fast casual style vs at actual sit down with a server. To be honest, most other barbecue restaurants follow this design around here and I prefer it for barbecue. You order once at the counter and get your own refills. They do have a bar here and a pretty efficient drive-thru, but I dined in with my kids that night. My daughter got the pulled pork sandwich kid's meal with a baked potato and my son got chicken tenders and mac 'n cheese. I usually get ribs but seeing how I ate barbecue earlier that day, I just got a 1 piece catfish plate with collard greens and a side salad... I know I know, kind of blasphemous but I vouch to return next time and try actual barbecue. I did order an appetizer of deviled eggs though. The salad was good (I mean it's a salad but it wasn't wilty, so that's all that matters.) The collard greens were tasty and not too bitter. The deviled eggs were fantastic, delicious and creamy with a slight sweetness to it. My catfish was excellently fried with a good base corn meal seasoning and the tartar sauce was icing on the cake. However I made the mistake of ordering 1 filet. The cashier told me they were big but they were NOT. It was a chicken tenderloin sized filet, which left me hungry that night. For the record, just pat a couple bucks more and get 2 filets. Hopefully they will be bigger than what I got....my kids let me have a bite or 2 of their food and I liked the pulled pork and the chicken tenders. The chicken tender was juicy and not at all dry (an indication of freshness). Overall I will come back. I have had their actual barbecue before and I know it's good. Everything was great, even down to the service. A great new restaurant in Hendersonville.

The girl with blue hair working the grill starts cooking her food that she brought from home on the grill. 10 minutes after we placed our order she finally throws down our meat. All the workers were complaining about a customer trying to use a gift card. After 10 more minutes the girl with blue hair takes off her gloves & walks to the back. Our food is just sitting on the grill BURNING. After 5 minutes go by she comes back to the front & completely ignores our food sitting on the grill. She grabs the spatula & starts preparing her lunch. My husband & I had to walk out. We drove down the street to the Gallatin location where they were nothing but a 10 out of 10 crew. The Hendersonville employees can take notes from the Gallatin crew from professionalism to customer service. We agreed the Gallatin location gave us the best sub we have ever got from a Jersey Mikes.
