White Duck was founded by a couple of Seattle transplants, who wanted to bring the "two windows in a shed" model of Pacific Northwest coffee shops to the Bay Area. But there's parking behind the building, if you want to sit and savor a bit. The shop is way up on North Dale Mabry-near Van Dyke-on the east side, right next to a Wendy's. It wasn't busy when I first got there but there at 8:30 on a Wednesday morning, but it soon picked up. I can see why... it's so convenient and the staff is so nice. They really stand out. I can't wait to stop in again and try more! I read on the website that the owners lost a child to cancer and part of the proceeds from each purchase goes to research.
