Our first visit will be our last. We waited over an hour to be moved into the room for our visit. Everything was very unorganized-the receptionist, getting the cats weighed, and the actual exam which was about 2 minutes. People in and out of the room constantly instead of coming in prepared and completing the tasks quickly. As anyone knows, cats are super scared and freaked out at the vet. The initial tech used a pen to poke my cat in his carrier when he was hissing at her to "see if he will bite". I've never seen anything like it. This was just a check up and shots. The entire team here is so nice and friendly! They've always managed to fit me and my little kitty April in for appointments when we need them. Dr. Nesbeth is very kind and professional and handled April's teeth surgery last year. Since then, we've come in for regular check ups and blood work. They are open in communication and listen to my concerns, while also giving superb customer service. Well, I understand it causes a business difficulty when a customer does a no-call no-show, but this place would not allow for a reschedule when I did call to explain the circumstances which caused the appointment to be missed. On top of an apology I offered to pay any missed appointment fee. Instead of letting me reschedule they bluntly told me that "that's not how it works." They cut me off and would not accept my business and they weren't polite about it. Are they this literal with all the people who miss appointments? Anyway if they are this cut and dry about stuff I can't believe they would treat my cat with much understanding. I accept missing the appointment, that's on me. I was referred to this cat clinic by a family member who said they loved this vet so I scheduled an appointment for my cat who has been very irritated in the nether regions. I went and the staff was phenomenal. From the front desk to the technician to the veterinarian herself I could not have asked for a better set of hands to put my cat in. They handled him with care and were able to see that his anal glands needed expressing which I have not been familiar with before since this was the first time it's happened. Worst place on earth not only are they terrible with customer service, but there communication is beyond poor, took a day off work to get my cat's annual checkup and they denied me service for not having a carrier, have never owned one, have never used a carrier before to bring him in but the moment I arrive sorry we can't help you need to go buy a carrier sorry nothing we can do, no loaner no facilitation, no help whatsoever except we can accommodate once you get a carrier...I understand COVID has changed a lot of our daily activities but I'd your going to have these guidelines in place, have that thoroughly explained to avoid returning customers the frustration before arriving to their appointment a simple sorry does not cut it, and the fact that you don't have a loaner to accommodate your customers is just plain dumb. We began using CCC as an alternate vet with emergencies because our primary vet was a bit far for us. Dr. Nesbit and her staff saw us promptly. They are kind and compassionate, and truly love the cats they take care of. They have seen two of our special needs kitties quite often through the years. They have always helped us make the right decisions for treatment, and when it was time, euthanasia. When it was time to let our kitties go, they were all so kind and supportive. As a cat person who deals with feral cats, abused cats and elderly cats who get left behind when their elderly owners pass away, I can honestly attest as to how much of a blessing Dr. Nesbitt and her wonderful staff have been to these cats and me. Several times I have been placed in difficult situations where one of these cats got sick and needed immediate help, especially most recent this week 7/13/20 When I first called Catonsville Cat Clinic they were booked up. I then called every veterinary clinic in the surrounding area. Due to Covid the vets were not taking new customers or were booked up. It was suggested I go to the emergency animal hospital. When I called and got their prices which were more than double a veterinary clinic I knew I could not afford the fees since my job ended two weeks prior. My heart was breaking over this sweet cat who desperately needed veterinary care. I then got a return call from Danielle at Catonsville Cat Clinic to bring the cat in. This is how compassionate C.C.C. Is, they truly care about cats. Dr. Nesbitt did an exam and gave me the options and allowed me to make the decision, no pressure no making me feel guilty. This has always been my experience with Dr. Nesbitt each time I have come in with a sick cat. One amazing fact is Dr. Nesbitt's ability to diagnose without running a ton of tests. She uses her expertise and good old common sense. She has always been spot on. The good thing is the clinic does have the necessary equipment to do diagnostic testing when necessary. Once I had to have a cat euthanized and was taking the cat home to bury it. Dr. Nesbitt asked if I needed help to bury the cat, they would help me. Now who would offer that now days? They even mailed me a sympathy card signed by the staff. I have been to this clinic many times under Dr. Nesbitt's management and have never been disappointed or had a bad experience. The cats sense they all care and are more relaxed and put at ease because of the way they are handled. In closing I highly recommend Catonsville Cat Clinic and would say as a person who has been to many vets through the years Catonsville Cat Clinic is the best and far superior in everything they do from the first point of contact on the phone to the end of the visit. read more

Went for the first time with my senior cat. She was recently adopted and I was concerned about how she would be handled and her reaction to the staff. They spent time allowing her time to warm up to them and didn't rush with her. The vet was very sweet to her and she was comfortable around her. This made me comfortable with the as well. Happy with the fact that only handle cats as my former vet had an open waiting room and often dogs would bark and she was more frightened but now only other cats. Would highly recommend them after my experience today. Still going and she had to have a tooth pulled and I felt very comfortable leaving her in their hands. All the staff are super. I've been to CCC twice. Each time for both my very senior cats (16+). The visits were always due to an acute issue: bad nail and skin rash. Both times I was given honest, direct, and helpful information. The medication needed for my cats worked and did so quickly. As a huge cat lover, nothing is worse than seeing your cat uncomfortable or in a bad mood (not the typical cat mood :). Getting immediate relief for them at a reasonable price (I'm unemployed) is even better. Plus, I never liked bringing my cats into a vet lobby where there had clearly been dogs. If dogs were present, it really stressed my cats out and made the visit worse. Going to CCC and only seeing cats is much more calming. read more

My wife and I were very excited to find a vet that just takes care of cats as most vets tend to be dog centric. In the last year we have taken both of our cats there several times for different treatments and have always had the best experiences. The entire staff is friendly and the cats always feel well treated. Dr Nesbitt is truly a caring cat person and will treat your little furballs to the best of her abilities. Fantastic experience at CCC, figured I would give it a try with my newest adopted cat as it is closely located to my home. The doctor was very patient and thorough with my cat and made me feel comfortable. She cleaned her ears as requested as well as went above and beyond to give me a quote for what a full dental cleaning would be. My cat became diabetic so I took her here .Dr. Nesbit pitched a brand of insulin from Lantus to me and of course I said ok . The Lantus product is $400 a bottle . The insulin from Lantus is never consistent in strength or price . I told the Doctor the stuff was not good and even had to go to her office many times with my concerns .I also called Lantus and they even told me they have quality control problem and arranged for me to pick up a free bottle where I payed for it . I also went right to the doctor with this info . Long story short , after two years of $400 a pop I found out i could of walked across the street to Walmart and got Novalin insulin for $20 a bottle and did not need a prescription to get it . Thats 16 bottles to 1 in cost . Bottom line I got robbed by this Doctor and she knows the gig is up now . She would even make me bring my cat in to get new Lantus prescription. They all have good bedside manner but it's part of the game with this breed of people . Bottom line is buyer beware you won't even know your being robbed and your pet will be sold off to drug company for kickbacks. My cat is doing so much better now out of clutches of Greed . Beware ! What really makes this ugly is I had not gotten the diabetic cat food or the glucose test strips yet and she urged me to go out and get this Lantus insulin right then or she would of gave my cat a $35 dollar shot of her insulin . I was shocked when I got to the pharmacy and they told me how much it was going to be . I did not have a nuff money to even buy it since I had just gave Dr. Nesbitt $930 of the 1100 total savings I had . I called my mom for help for the first time in my 53 years of life at the time . Again I could of walked across the street and got insulin at Walmart for 20$. I had to decline a complete blood work up that Dr. Nesbitt suggested but I feel my cat needed because the Dr. chose to get me on the continuos money she was going to get every-time I filled her prescription for the Lantus insulin. The actions of this greedy person hurt my cat she was treating and my other cats at home of course because of the cost involved. I had to let car care and many other things go because the love I have for my pets and thats what Nesbitt played upon . The crazy thing is I had it all covered for at least a year with the money I brought, with no hardships and that should of been her aim . I was lucky , today my cat is healthy and I can afford the very best for her and my other pets now . In my 55years of life i can not think of a more despicable person but she does it with a smile . read more

The Catonsville Cat Clinic now has a new owner, Dr. Pam Nesbitt, and she and her staff are amazing! All of the negatives mentioned in the previous review no longer apply. If you went to CCC several years ago and were unhappy, I would urge you to give it another try! Through her inquisitive and methodical care, Dr. Nesbitt identified and is treating a rare illness in one of my cats. She carefully examines all possibilities before just making the symptoms go away with medication. The offices are clean and professional, and the staff is compassionate and very knowledgeable. They routinely go above and beyond the usual standard of care every time I visit, and I have multiple cats, so I'm there quite a bit. I also love that they are a cat-only hospital, so I never have to worry about my skittish cat being terrified by a dog in the waiting room. The care at Catonsville Cat Clinic has extended and/or improved the quality of life for several of my cats now. I wouldn't switch vets for anything! read more

I wanted to write this after seeing a negative 1 star review which I feel in my experience is totally inaccurate . Dr.Nesbitt and her staff have always been wonderful to my cat and myself,in fact I had taken my cat to several vets before the catonsville cat clinic and they totally misdiagnosed my cat's problem (which as it turn out was extremely high blood sugar)But Dr.Nesbitt was the first vet that I've encountered that was more concerned with the health of my animal than getting me invoiced and out the door. Honestly, if I could give 0 stars I would. Most of the people who reviewed this clinic positively did not have a pet who was very sick or with a chronic illness. I have been coming to this clinic for a while out of convenience and that its close to my house. She is very good at charging you for unnecessary services and tests and then afterwards forwarding you to another clinic. My cat has a chronic illness that needs to be medically managed. However, she refused to provide care and follow up treatment after the visit from the PET ER that she recommended. Although, she stated she would be more then happy to refill any prescriptions. She was even bold enough to suggest that I take out a loan for invasive tests for a cat who has an extremely poor prognosis. Very unprofessional and uncaring. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. In a follow up to my review. I contact the Veterinary's office twice the next day because I wanted a follow up appointment. I was promptly told by the Vet tech that "We do not do follow up appointments for that, but we can fill prescriptions from other vets". I asked to speak with Dr. Nesbit, but apparently she was busy, and when I called again, same thing. Her vet tech also suggested I "take out a loan" for some additional consults. I'm sorry but that's not how you talk to people if you want to keep their business. If she had even bothered to talk to me on the phone the times I called she would have known that I had got an echocardiogram like she suggested, but she didn't, because she kept telling the Vet tech to talk to me instead. So this review is absolutely accurate to the way she runs her business and it also appears that professionalism is lacking as well since she seems to find it professional and appropriate to put every detail of the events thereof to make it appear as if she did nothing wrong and that somehow she and her business is being slandered, which they are not. Poor service and poor communication and lack of empathy gets bad reviews. I am certainly not someone that writes reviews, so if I am writing a negative one, the service was very poor. read more

Went twice...very EXPENSIVE. Bills were never under $200. You're better off standing because the3 chairs in the waiting room are full of cat fur. The owner won't refill meds without you coming in for 2 follow up appointments per month . The office finally started burning sum candle to eliminate the horrible odor. read more

I took my new cat here recently and couldn't be happier. The doctor is attentive, answered all my questions, and called me back promptly when another issue came up. I have a cat, and love the cat, of course, but I'm not personally what you'd call a cat nut. Because this place only does cats, I'm comforted by the fact that my little kitty is being taken care of by someone who's actually way more into cats than I am. Also, about the other review: It's my understanding that Catonsville Cat Clinic has changed owners since that person went. I have not found the bills to be excessive at all. It is a vet clinic, though. Anyone who has more than a goldfish understands that healthcare for our four-legged friends is not cheap. But I don't think CCC is more expensive than average. read more

my name is mama.i am a 17-year-old cat who had some dental issues including a growth on my upper gum.i was taken to catonsville cat clinic where dr. pam nesbitt told my human that i had a bad heart and that i needed some tests before she could perform dental surgery.i was in pain and had to wait for 3 months for the results of the tests which showed my heart was fine but then dr. nesbitt said she couldn't help me because i had lost weight and was elderly and she was afraid i could die during the procedure.so my human took me to a hospital where they hooked me to machines to monitor my heart and vital organs.the dental procedure took 4. hours,the growth was not cancerous and was successfully removed and soon afterwards i started eating again with no pain.i regained weight and i am doing great.i wish my human hadn't taken me to catonsville cat clinic.i suffered for 3 months for no reason and my human shelled out nearly $500 in vet bills for nothing. read more

There aren't words that could possibly describe how much I love Catonsville Cat Clinic. My whole family has adopted from them and taken our pets there. They are knowledgeable and compassionate--the two most important qualities for a vet, in my opinion. Even if the vet bills are a little bit high, you know you're getting quality service. They even took care of my guinea pig--he lived a VERY long time thanks to them. Recently, I took my cat in for dental work and a biopsy of his foot. They got back to me as soon as the results were in and they took care of his foot beautifully. He's pretty much completely healed now. I'm so grateful. read more

I will say that the prices are a little higher than some other vets. Overall though, I am more comfortable with a practice that specializes in cats. Since the clinic has changed ownership the look, feel, and care of this hospital have all improved greatly! Dr. Nesbitt is wonderful, easy to talk to, and very thorough. I take all my cats here even though I live in White Marsh because the staff and the doctor are worth it! One of my cats had major surgery here about a year ago and the experience was stressful but Dr. Nesbitt did everything in her power to make it easier and when he started to have problems a week after surgery they took him in right away and fixed him right up! I feel as though medical care is not something you can be cheap about, so although a previous post complained about the cost of the clinic, it is well worth the money to receive QUALITY care and genuine compassion. read more

She was consistently given great care and we were given good and useful advice whenever asked for. I have nothing but praise for this practice. The facility has been updated and is pleasant to be in. The staff has, without exception, been responsive, kind, and caring. We had to have our cat put to sleep yesterday, and the empathy and sympathy shown by everyone made the experience as good as one such as that can be. My experience have been very positive. Ownership of the clinic changed hands about 1 1/2 years ago. Both current Vet/Owner and prior Vet/Owner are very knowledgeable about cat health. Prices are comparable to other area clinics. The staff is also knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. Routine visits as well as emergency visits were handled with skill and professionalism.
