My cat was a patient of Everhart beginning in 2017. A few weeks ago, she developed symptoms of increased drinking and urination. I called during normal hours to have her seen. They told me they could not see her right away but recommended I take her to an urgent care. I was surprised, because isn't that the reason you have a relationship in the first place, for when there's an emergency, to get her seen? It turns out she was diagnosed with diabetes and then had to go to another place for an overnight at the Cat hospital. I was told she should be seen by her regular vet for follow up. Everhart was unable to give me a follow up appointment other than having come in all day and stay in a crate to be seen. I did that, which severely traumatized her.It also made her blood sugar, skyrocket, which is exactly the condition I was coming into have get better, not worse. A few weeks later, she developed breathing problems. I again called Everhart during normal business hours explained the situation and was told I could not bring her in. They said "we are closing soon", even though I live five minutes away and they were still open for another hour. They told me repeatedly how shortstaffed they were because one vet was out on maternity leave and another was on her honeymoon. I'm sorry, this is a staffing issue that was completely foreseen and should have been planned for in advance. I ended up taking her to the emergency room, had an absolutely traumatizing five hours there. One of the questions was what is her regular vet and when I told them it was Everhart, they said "oh yeah, we've been getting a lot of their people here." Long story short, my cat was so traumatized by that experience, and I was so discouraged by the complete lack of access to non-traumatizing medical care (which should have been provided by her regular vet, with whom I had a relationship going back to 2017), that I made the difficult decision to have her put down at home. she died in my arms. Everhart failed me in the most important three weeks of my cat's life. Don't let them fail you and your cat. Go elsewhere. read more

I will never take my dog here again, they are terrible! My first issue I had with them back in February, I called to make an appointment, I spoke with an employee over the phone to schedule my dogs next appointment. My dog Hunter was supposed to be coming back in 4 weeks for his second dose of lepto vaccine, so I thought! Usually I get a text or email a few days prior before the appointment, as you can guess this time I did not! I called Everhart to confirm his appointment, the receptionist proceeded to tell me they did not have any appointment for my dog Hunter! My dog Hunter had Lyme disease! The lepto vaccine was very important for him to receive! They did not care, didn't even say sorry! So my dog had to suffer because whatever idiot receptionist they had didn't schedule my dogs appointment in the computer! So then I had to schedule another appointment and start the lepto all over again. The first dose again and then wait 4 weeks and come back again for the second dose all because it was out of the time frame of the 4 weeks originally because the receptionist didn't put Hunter in the computer! Why should my dog suffer because of a mistake they made? Then they proceed to ask me what was the girls name, like I remember some woman's name from 4 weeks ago. Which by the way ALL CALLS ARE RECORDED! So they could've went back or there end to see who took that call and didn't schedule my dogs appointment! Second issue: my boyfriend and I are taking a family emergency road trip to Florida the beginning of June with Hunter. However Hunter gets car sick easily, so I called Everhart last Friday the 23 to get some Maropitant Citrate prescribed to him. The receptionist told me she let the doctor know and they will contact me in a day or 2 next week. Which is now this week. It's Saturday the 31st I still have not heard from Everhart about the Maropitant Citrate medication! Third issue: this weekend (weekend of May 30th) I am watching my father's dog, she is very old and has heart problems. She is on 3 different heart meds for her condition. Hunter got into the medication and ate 3 pills, one of each! My father's dog however goes to bayside animal medical center in severna park not Everhart. I called Everhart with the names of the heart medication and dosage ready to give to them so they could tell me if it was a emergency and I need to take him to the hospital or if he will be ok. Everhart tells me they can't help me and I have to call poison control and ask them and they will charge me $100 fee! RIDICULOUS! You're my dogs vet! Why can't you tell me if meds will harm my dog? Mind if I have the medication and dosage written down of the ones he ate! I mean I wasn't asking for them to do rocket science! What's the point of having them if they're no help? Then I called bayside animal medical center and ask them and they were able to confirm that it will not harm my dog Hunter. Mind you bayside has never met Hunter, but they were able to tell me and reinsure me that it will not harm him after giving them his weight a breed! Everhart Hunters own vet couldn't even do that! RIDICULOUS! I will never take my dog here again! I will never recommend this place to anyone! read more

I have just started taking our two kitties to Everhart. I experienced their kindness a couple of years ago when my friend had to put her kitty to sleep. I was amazed by them then, and I continue to be amazed now after taking both our cats to get established there. It is so great to feel good about a Veterinary practice. I mean how often can someone say 'Hey Buddy' and scritch your head and let me keep my fighting trim. And they give my big things stuff to shove down my throat using a garden hose! Or something. And then when my Big Things go there to pick up more bad tasting stuff to shove down my throat, everyone says "how is Lord Poopington" as if they do not cower in fear at the thought of my making a return visit. On October 11, 2020 I was forced to make a decision to end my pugs suffering from a terminal illness. It was the most emotional thing I have ever had to do in my life. I had this dog for more than half of my life, he was 16 years old. From the moment I called them the receptionist were so understanding of my grief and they spoke with me in a very polite manor and explained to me what I needed to do and scheduled my appointment. I had many questions and there were multiple calls from me to them and they assured me I wasn't bothering them and answered every question I had. Upon arriving for the procedure the techs came to my car and took my angel in and prepared him. When I was invited in to see my pudgey he was brought to me wrapped like a sweet little cherub. The Vet handled him with the utmost respect and and gently handed him to me and explained the process and assured me I was making the right decision for his better well being. (I desperately needed that) she let me have as much private time as I needed with him before they began the process. I can't express enough how comfortable the vet made me feel she definitely is in her right following in life with her career. No one wants to ever put their animal down but I'm glad I went there because it gave me peace of mind and I feel they were just as gentle with him when I left as they were when I was there. They also work with a great crematory in Maryland that offers an array of urns and memorabilia that you can have made in memory of their beautiful lives. I can't thank everyone at Everhart enough for helping my dog, Sophie. She initially went in for an emergency appointment because she tore her doggie ACL and then started to decline (not eating, etc) for unknown/unrelated reasons. She spent 5 days at the hospital and though a specific reason couldn't be determined they still were able to create a treatment plan and I'm happy to say she is feeling so much better now! Everyone who came into contact with Sophie, or spoke with me, was so kind and caring and I really felt like she was not only getting excellent care but that everyone truly cared about her. I love that they helped her feel better but also that she was happy while there with them because she is normally terrified at the vet. It just shows how caring everyone at Everhart is. My pup has been coming here since before he was born so I decided to keep him here after I bought him home to be part of my family. They have you check in with your parking space number and come get your babe from your car, and bring them back when done. We don't get to go in due to COVID Procedures but you know your fur baby is in good hands. The customer service is awesome and I always get all my questions and concerns answered. I am new to the area and went to Everhart based on dog community recommendations, however my experience with Dr. Farris was pretty terrible and ultimately when I left and got to my car, I was very shaken up. Dr. Farris was incredibly rude and aggressive during our visit. She didn't introduce herself, ask my anything about the dog, our lifestyle, etc. She didn't examine my dogs ears, teeth, etc.-- really anything I was used to coming from the Midwest for an annual check up/inoculation appointment. We waited two months for an annual check up after I had called since my dog sprained her paw. (They would not see her for an an injury before a check up and the soonest that was would be 1.5 months later.) In the meantime, the paw/limp healed and so we were just there for shots and an annual exam. She came in guns-a-blazing and gave me a monologue about how they were "super busy" as if they can gotten me an appointment like it was a favor. At one point she had gone on so much about how all vets in the US are overworked and being "screamed at by stressed out owners", that I actually told her I felt like she was attacking me and she was making me feel uncomfortable. What did she do? Stop? Realize how she had "greeted me"? Apologize? No, she kept on talking over me and being just downright awful. Has Covid been hard on people? Sure, but I still am confused on what happened at the appointment today. How I was treated was truly unacceptable. I am relived that we don't have to go back for a year (now that my dog has her annual shots) and we will be finding a new vet for next time. read more

This is a long overdue RAVE review of Everhart. We've been coming here since I was a kid - seriously, 15+ years. When I was in college with my own cat, I tried two other vets that sorely disappointed me (both in customer service and the care of my cat) and I began driving all the way back to Everhart. I've seen many vets here throughout the years and every single one has been kind and thorough. They always take the time to walk through your options when you're faced with news you didn't want to hear. My mom is also basically a frequent flyer at Everhart - she's had a spell of very unfortunate pet health. Whenever she calls me with updates about her appointments, she always speaks SO kindly of her vet (Dr. Key, I believe) and techs who take time to answer her questions, and very importantly in my mind, explore integrative and alternative care options. Everhart, you rule. I recommend you to all my friends, no matter how far they are, because you are worth any drive. Love this vet, they have always taken care of my Nala girl when something goes wrong. Last time, Nala split her nail and the quick was exposed. The doctors were able to get her in quickly and bandaged her up. A couple weeks later and she was back to normal. read more

These people are beyond awesome!!! Currently my husband and I are at the airport moving to Germany with the military. At the counter checking in the AMC people say that we need to either 1. Buy a 10 digit reader or 2. Rechip our dog which takes days due to requirements in Germany. We are unable to do number 2, so we get on the horn and beg and plead people to buy theirs. I had a positive experience taking my dog to this clinic. I called on a Sunday at 9am to get my dog a same day appointment for his foot infection. The staff, vet tech, and vet were all wonderful to interact with. I am glad that I brought him in that day and not waited. I want to also give a heads up that there is one entrance to the parking lot. I accidentally jumped the curb to the lot at what looked like a second entrance but is not (I was kindly reassured that I was not the first person to do this). Unfortunately, I got a flat tire as a result. The staff let me know that I could wait in the large air conditioned waiting area until help arrived. They brought out a water bowl for my dog as well. PHENOMENAL. As a new-pet owner, I had many questions that I needed reassurance of in addition to all the research I did for my new baby pup. The staff here is wonderful and extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. I am really glad this is just around the corner for me because I want my pup to have the best care possible and this hospital seems like the best place for that. Since we are in the COVID era, they provide curbside service only. Basically you park in a spot, and they pick up your pet from the car and provide telehealth in the comfort of your own car. Technically, this is for Everhart Wellpet Center in Pasadena, the sister location to Brooklyn where alternative medicine is done. My 13 year old Collie/Shepherd mix had acupuncture and an Adequan shot for arthritis it was, no exaggeration, ah-mazing. For days after, she walked like she did before arthritis and hip dysplasia set in. She's building up the Adequan with shots I give her at home and her acupuncture is also having a cumulative effect as we continue treatment, but MAN, she was much more comfortable and easy in her movements after one treatment (I know that sounds like BS, but it's not). Dr. Key and the staff are top drawer: professional, but not condescending and informative, but not stuffy. The place is clean as a whistle and really has dogs with mobility issues in mind: scale embedded in the floor, padded beds in the exam room so my girl never had to get on a table or lie on a hard, cold surface. The price was great, too: $75 for acupuncture, $100 for a month of Adequan (first month was $200, but that's because she gets double the shots to build up the fluid around her joints, establish a base level) Totally worth the drive from Baltimore and the cost. If your dog has arthritis, GO. JUST GO. read more

I brought my Yorkie the first time she showed difficulty breathing. I am grateful for the first diagnosis however, the Veterinary Doctor who saw her was forceful in getting her to a heart specialist. Knowing my dog's past history that this was a wrong way to do. I canceled the heart specialist 3x times and spare an expense for unnecessary medical. I know in my heart that I am correct. My Yorkie now is doing great with simple medication and never had gone to the heart specialist as the Vet Doc strongly suggests. read more

I use to go to this veterinarian a long time ago. I had a different dog all together and she has been having some issues with her eyes, ears and skin. I was taking her to Eastern Animal Hospital but I was unhappy with how they were treating my Mochi. The rash was getting worse and her face was all torn up. So I took a chance and decided to take her to Everheart and I'm so glad that I did. Her rash, eyes and ears are doing so much better now that she's on the right medications and her face is almost completely healed and she's not scratching it so much. So I have a mostly good review about this place. The girls up front are very nice and caring. The assistant or vet tech not sure what their job title is are very nice 2. The lady who helps when you have to put a pet down is very caring I think her name is Emily. Alot of the staff show they care about pets and care about you, and tour feelings for the pets. I had the sad experience of a stray I rescued having to be put down, everyone was nice expect the vet. She delivered the blood test results in a way where she goes im.glsd we did the blood work, long pause your pet has leukemia and I recommend putting him down. End of story she didn't like questions gave basic answers of I don't care, a real heartless snob. This would be Doc Hess she either lost her passion or never had it, and gives off the vibe of I ha e better things to do then answer your questions your paying me for. Now I did have to go back to have my other cat tested, once again the staff was nice and the girls were caring and asked how I was because I was broken up over my other pet. I got lucky and got Doctor Karr, " pronounced Care" this vet answered all questions showed he cared to the highest degree possible and went over stuff the other vet show have done. Doc Karr made me realize the decision to put my other pet down was the best for the pet any why. He went over the recovery rate which was 5% or less based on the blood results, doc Hess aka doc itch with a B added did no such thing. Nor did she care to try and explain. I strongly feel that lady should get another profession. If you come here try your best to see a different vet other then her, my personal experience is Doc Karr a friend of mine says Doc Goodmen, this friend and her mother both go her and both highly dislike Doc Hess aka snob Itch. Overall I'd say this is a great place minus the one vet. But what can I say every place has 1 bad apple and Doc Hess is the bad one here read more
