High quality painting supplies! High quality staff! I have been coming here for years as I've lived local for a while and been here to help witj many projects never been disappointed! I am a lover of dark Decor including black paint and came to them many times for a signature color they have called TriCor black which is phenomenal, also my second favorite color is a gray paint shade that is called gray matters I like that a lot of the paints have memorable names. When it comes to paint you get what you pay for and I highly recommend their paint and painting supplies. read more

What's the point of having operating hours if you don't follow them? I drove here from South LA specifically to get two gallons of paint only to find the doors locked and nobody answering the phone, and this is by the store's actual operating hours of 6 PM and not 7. I'd rather go out of my way to the Inglewood one, where I've had good customer service before. read more

I love this store. Even though there's been times where I've gone there to make a purchase and their system was down and they couldn't sell anything or other times where the store was not open during hours of operation, I have had excellent customer service Experiences every time. The most recent was yesterday when I visited the store to purchase additional paint and Ryan was so patient and doing a color match for me and then another canned that I needed it which they didn't have in stock for him to locate at another location and tell me that he could actually drop it off first thing tomorrow morning on his way to work as I am two blocks away from the store customer service at its finest! Very helpful workers at the Westwood store. High quality paint! Very satisfied with outcome of paint job. Only complaint is they don't carry every color of large stick samples in stock. Ryan is awesome!!. He was so helpful and professional. He not only mixed a very difficult paint in advance of my arrival (denim blue which required multiple colors) But he then gave me pointers on how to make it appear as a stain despite the fact that they sold a similar product. He gave me the ratio and told me if it didn't work out to come back and then buy their product. He also answered many other questions. A small shop with a comfortable feel like this is rare to find these days in Los Angeles. Ryan and his staff definitely fit that bill. wow what a difference of stores! Yesterday I went to the one off Pico and La Cienega and it was the worst experience with the team to get help. Today I went to this location and Joe, the store clerk was BEYOND helpful. He helped walk me through color options, sheens, and helped me problem solve trying to match my current paint in my house. I need to paint my apartment and needed a custom blend that had been originally bought at the store in Santa Monica. This store is much closer to my home so I went there and talked to Ryan. He was able to order it from the Santa Monica store and have it in this location the next day. I returned the next day and he mixed the paint and carried it to my car as well. Very helpful employees here on this fine Sunday morning. They gave me all the discounts they could and also showed me how I can get even more with my professional license. They were courteous, honest and friendly-- what more could anyone ask for?! The selection is great and the product turnaround to make a gallon of paint was 3 minutes. I do prefer this small-scale business environment to the impersonal, massive-scale operation of the Home Depot. At Home Depot, you're just a number. At this place, your a human with a heart and a face. Support your local paint shop, even if it costs 50 cents more! Save humanity by not always opting for the cheaper alternative. What a great experience! I came into the store looking for swatches to repaint my bedroom and bathroom. Vidal helped me. I locked in the bathroom color immediately, and I picked up some paint samples for the bedroom wall to take home. Sadly none of them worked out. They came out too light on the wall. I came back in and showed Vidal some photos of how the colors actually came out, and told him I thought I needed a MUCH darker shade to compensate b/c the room was so bright. I got more samples to paint on the wall to take home. Sadly, those were too dark. I came in a 3rd time in 3 days and showed him the photos, yet again, and Vidal picked out a shade he said would be a perfect mix of the light one and the dark one I liked. I was walking out and he said, "I just know this one is the winner." He was RIGHT! He was the most sincere and most patient person I've met in a long time. Large retail stores sometimes don't lend themselves to people who TRULY care, so I wanted to make sure people know what kind of experience you get when you come to this Sherwin-Williams. read more

Don't go here! They will leave you standing waiting while they take long orders by phone! It takes 2 of them to pack and ring up cash register while a 3rd is on the phone with another customer waiting! Very inefficient. Watch they will upgrade your paint selection on you "by mistake" and try to charge you more!! Dont trust the big older guy. He thinks its funny. I made the mistake of going here. read more

LOVE this paint store! Compared to other Sherwin Williams stores I've been to, the customer service is superb! And they really know their colors... Picking a color for the nursery is difficult, especially if you're particular like me and can notice subtle undertones. I had already gone to other stores and liked a specific color but wanted it lighter. Other stores would just hand me other color sample cards, but JOE immediately informed me that they could just make the color I like lighter in shade.. to 50%, 75%, etc. No other stores mentioned that! And when the computer would make subtle changes to the color formula, Joe worked with me for a long while manually trying to find the exact color I would like. He found the perfect color! And of course when making this newly made perfect color into a gallon, the computer subtly changed it again so ALEEN spent even more time manually correcting it to match it to the exact color I wanted. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! They spend time with you even if you're asking for very subtle minor changes and even if you're not a contractor/painter who's buying 10-20 gallons. read more

From the first time I met Joe, I realized I was in front of someone who really wanted to help a housewife with dreams of being a contractor. He was knowledgeable, kind, patient and so helpful in helping me choose the right products. The last time, he even took all the paint to my car! And today, when I needed more of some paint he no longer had, he went the extra mile by ordering it from another store for me. I was feeling a bit dejected but after I got to the Westwood store I was assisted by Joe and he turned my day around! What a shape contract I experienced with the Santa Monica and Westwood Stores today. My refinisher uses the Santa Monica store so I went in because the two stains they mixed was too grey. Not like the stain samples Toasted Barrel and Smokewood shown to me by the wonderful Sherwin William color consultant Anna Qzmale. Brianna helped me, she was unfriendly and had a negative attitude. I left confused and with other stain color samples which I did not like as well as TB and SW. Also I was not satisfied with her product knowledge, so I went to the Westwood store where I had always received excellent customer service. Aleen Serna Assistant Store Manger helped me. After explaining what happened with the two stain colors, she immediately figured out a way to customize the formula to remove the grey. The end result was perfect. I now have 2 cans of the correct stain color to give to my refinisher. What an amazing contrast from these stores. Westwood with "How can I help you" or Santa Monia "I don't care" Congratulations to the Westwood Store in believing in going the extra mile for your customers! read more

My husband and I were refreshing the paints we used in our home that we initially bought from this store about eight years ago. At first, we were hesitant and went into the store not knowing if it was even possible to retrieve our color matches after so much time had elapsed. Well, we had the good fortune to work with Aleen. Aleen immediately made it her mission to search their multiple data bases to try to locate our colors, and we are thrilled to say, her efforts, after much persistence on her part, were successful. Aleen then mixed our paints and they were a perfect match to the existing colors in our house. Not only that, but she organized our account in her computer records and ran off documentation that would help us locate our colors more easily in the future should we need them. Aleen not only was quite knowledgeable, but a patient and pleasant person to work with who clearly knows her job and enjoys helping her customers. Usually places like that are so busy, employers don't have time to explain things to you, so basically you are by yourself until you go the the cashier. After wasting 30 minutes of my life while being ignored at the Santa Monica SW location, my sister and I decide to come to this store. Once again no greeting. WTF? This time an angry black woman with a paper boy hat, who was clearly an Asst. Manager looked like she hated her job and wasn't courteous whatsoever. She did help us probably only because we were the only people there. I used to work at SW as an operations manager so I know what good customer service is at SW *GUEST* and these new managers never used any form of *GUEST*.
