The lady that sits at the desk in front of the color samples did the bare minimum and comes off annoyed when asking for help finding a paint color similar to the one I painted my interior trim with. If you like Dunn Edward's I would recommend trying another store if you want genuine service. Customer service, please? Not here. Clueless, uninterested, and slow. Manager is tucked away in his cubby in front of a computer while a "do the minimum" employee struggles with one customer and two other employees are in the "employee only" section chit-chatting with zero concern of the mounting customers. In need of a special paint, I took the preemptive measure of calling a few days before to assure that they carried it. Well, when I arrived at the store, there were approximately 4 customers in the store, so I took a number, as the sign on the dispenser stated, and took a seat. After about 20 minutes of waiting, I looked up, and noticed that the Customer number being served was set at 0. Gee, why have the ticket dispenser when it isn't used? And why wasn't I told that by the clerk behind the register when I entered? Anyway, after about 25 minutes of waiting, it was my turn. I went up to the clerk, and asked him about the paint, to confirm that it would work. To my chagrin, he stated that they carried no such paint, and blew me off. Isn't that parochial? I spoke to 2 of their employees and received 2 different opinions. I was so hesitant to walk into a paint shop because I'm absolutely clueless about exterior paint color combos & schemes , but to the rescue Katrina (interior designer) guided me and explained to me what colors pair well and explained to me in detail about the paints I would need from the trim, accent and walls , I emailed her a picture of my house and she gave me a "color by number for dummies" that I really needed because if not for this, I would've forgot and I would've got lost in translation by the time I would have to explain it to my contractor. read more

I want to thank Sam, a Dunn-Edwards Paints Associate, for all she did to help me get the right paint for my house. I had painted my place nine-years-ago with a special blend. I was hoping Dunn-Edwards would still have my file, but it was not coming up in their computer. Sam did a hand search though old records and found my paint. Sam also helped me with the gallons needed, the trim paint and some patching material. She was so helpful, polite and trusting. Horrible Customer service. Do NOT expect to be in and out of this Dunn Edwards with the slow-pokes working during this time. Took time to call and make a will call for my clients samples. Went to pick them up, and turns out they DIDN'T place the order. Decided to place the order again, waited over 40 minutes and walked out with nothing. Turn out they hadn't even started making it--Complete waste of my time! They Obviously do not care that theres a line of customers waiting outside in the direct sun, they will spend their sweet time, regardless. Exceptional service! Not only did I get a free color consultation by a color specialist named Rosie, I also got superb pricing on paints using account of the painter company I hired. My painters are from All Los Angeles Painting, another GREAT company I will recommend along with Dunn Edwards paints. From what I gathered, quality of Dunn Edwards paint is just as good as Benjamin Moores but they only cost 1/2 to 1/3 of the price. I got a gallon of Suprima Eggshell for just $30 because my painter gets great discounts with them. As if that is not good enough, my painter got Dunn's sales to personally deliver two extra gallons we needed for the job. Overall, I was highly satisfied with their paint qualities and services provided. One note about this particular store - bright, big, and air conditioned. It makes a huge difference that their floor to ceiling windows let you see colors under natural light. Color sample costs $5 each. It is always a good idea to test samples on your own walls before painting because color will look very different on the wall than on color chips. read more

I don't normally leave reviews for paint stores but Dunn-Edwards quality and more specifically one of the associates there named Julian Bravo is consistently awesome. I drive miles to come to this particular Dunn-Edwards store for their quality and ability to color match under the most difficult of circumstances. Julian portrays the can do attitude who accepts ridiculously small paint chips as a challenge to try and color match, and goes above and beyond in every instance in which I've had the pleasure to work with him. While most stores are simply interested in selling paint Julian is truly interested in trying to solve your problems as the customer in the best, most cost-effective manner possible. I always know the paint color, brand, finish, and amount I need and still I won't come in unless I have a good 1.5 hours to wait. Sometimes I get lucky and if there's no one in line I can get in and out in about 45 mins, but that is usually rare so I plan on 1.5 hours. read more

I went into Dunn-Edwards Pasadena today to get some color matching done for interior house paint. Rosie helped me set up the color matching and also advised me on what my options are for the cabinet paint conundrum that I'm currently stuck in. While I waited for my color-matched paint, I saw her handle so many customers with so much patience and resourcefulness. She's really on top of everything. This paint store has a 70's auto body shop atmospere meets used car lot vibe that just won't quit. So ladies - you might want to bring a friend. Men are just kind of loitering around waiting for their paint. It's all white inside for a sterile halfway house feel. THe good part is, they will copy any paint. You can call in with a Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams color and they will clone it. AAA card gets you a discount. Their Enduracryl paint forms a tough rubber like shell- perfect for outdoor trim. read more

This is not a review about the quality of their paint. This is a review about the service of the store, or lack thereof. There is no reason for all 3 employees to be hiding behind the counter when there are no customers paying. I know you see customers walking around the store. Would it kill you to come out from behind the counter and see if we need help? When I did ask for help, they looked at each other with the, "I'm not it" look. Very very bad customer service and experience. I came in around lunch time and they were overwhelmed due to the amount of customers and only having 2 front desk workers. Front desk workers were working the cashiers as well as taking phone calls/ phone orders simultaneously. I ordered my paint but the font desk worker charged me a double amount of paint. Upon noticing her mistake I addressed it but she stated it was too late to refund the money since she already charged the credit card. She tried to blame me for the mistake. She most likely misheard me since she was taking my order and a phone order at the same time. Kind of shady but now we are stuck with double the amount of paint. read more
