As I entered the office to register I was greeted by Jody who said to me "welcome Hime". That picked up my spirits quite a bit. As I was driving here I thought about my site and how to back in was a hill which I thought could be a bit muddy which it was. As I was guided in by Geoff one of the great crew and an RV tech I got stuck and bogged down in the mud. Things look bleak at that point and we talked about getting a tow truck to move my 45' coach. Suddenly the Calvary arrived and we and they devised a plan to free me up. Oh did I say it was raining quite hard. After two hours using planking and more digging I was freed. Now they decided to put me in a pull through for the night which I did. Now the plan is to wait until the ground dries a bit and go back to the site I love. Bottom line I e traveled all over North America and never had the service I get here and always with a sincere smile. They always seem to know what to do to make the customer feel happy and satisfied. The main difference here I believe is the fact it's a family run facility third generation and it's not the same as being a name and number in a corporate campground. The point I'm making is recommend anyone to stay here at Pinewood Lodge. I'm here and hope to be for time to come. The amenities and activities are wonderful. So I hope this review helps people looking for a campground close to Cape Cod and convenient to travel to Boston would consider them. Happy Camper

I can honestly say that I have never had this much fun camping in my life! They accommodate both tent and RV campers, there is a spot to please anybody. The facility is secure, and you will feel good knowing that people that don't belong will not get past the gates. They have an amazing store, with all sorts of camping gear, food, firewood, and plenty of ice. They also rent golf carts for use around this beautiful, massive park. There is a beach, swimming area, food shack, and even an ice cream shop. Not only do they offer a variety of regular and seasonal events, they do an amazing job of putting them together and getting people involved. We had the pleasure of being there for their Halloween celebration, including a massive golf cart parade, costume and decorating contests as well. Considering all that you get, their fees are very reasonable. So why not give camping a try and get yourself to Maple Woods to join in on the fun!

Stopped in the Cape Cod area for a few days to visit the sights and scenes. We chose Shady Knoll…read morebased upon a Good Sam review. When we arrived, the staff was ready for us and gave us our welcome packet and explained how to get to our site. We drove to our site and it was amazingly spacious. We are here for five days, but the first three are with no sewer hookups. Not to worry, because three times weekly, the management pumps tanks out at no extra charge. We backed into our space which was shaded for nearly all of the day. It was level and very private, surrounded by a privet of wild grape vines. Adjacent to our site was a nature trail that went into an area that used to be a cranberry bog. On the third day we relocated to a site with sewer and again, it was quite spacious and very easy to back into. The entire park is clean and inviting. There are two bathroom/shower/laundry rooms. All the floors have been covered with a slip resistant epoxy that makes them look amazing. The showers and toilets, washers and dryers are immaculate and tended to throughout the day. All of the staff was courteous and helpful. The park is centrally located to many sights along the Cape. It is however, a bit difficult to drive into because one must cross a busy road to drive into the entrance. Pulling a trailer with that extra length sometimes is dicey. Very comfortable accommodations. The office/general store has just about anything you might need to make your stay more comfortable. I would definitely return in a heartbeat.

Tent sites were very clean and fairly spacious, tho ours was a tad hard to back into especially with other guests in their sites with their cars parked. The bathroom and showers were very clean - solid water pressure and the water got really hot. They werent too far from our site either. The camp store seemed to have really anything you needed during camping. The water spicket at the tent site was nice to have for cleaning and putting the fire out, as well as the picnic table. They said there was a 1mi trail that leads to the beach - well we found a trail right close by that is 1mi BUT this trail does not lead to the beach, not sure where that trail is. But Breakwater Beach nearby is a must do, especially at low tide. Overall I'd come back to this site, my first real camping trip was a success

Mainly rvs with nice tent spots. The proximity to beaches restaurants and even the bike trail adds to the appeal of Atlantic Oaks Campground. The cons are few and didn't impact our stay or the rating. The point here is that you're going to the beach. So No pool, but go to the beach :) Next internet is about a decade behind, e-mail light browsing work. Internet coverage is wide with barely any dead spots just slow. Tips!! Go to Arnold's for food it's a short walk and it's fun and tasty great onion rings and scallops bring cash. Don't forget to return your gate key. Oh and one more have your campfire but have it put out with water by 11pm.

It's also the cleanest and most well-run private campground on the Cape, in my opinion. I had made a reservation earlier that day in person on the phone, mentioned I would be getting in late. I got a friendly call from them later to make sure I could get to camp ok if it was after hours, and to make sure I did so quietly. I was impressed at the concern not just of my experience but that of the other guests. I write this on the front porch, just outside their very nice common area, sipping a good cup of coffee ($1.75, vs $3 at the far inferior North of Highlands campground) and about to get back on the bike. One more note, I mentioned I had forgotten to pack a cup, didn't see anything just right in their otherwise well-appointed camp store, and wouldn't you know Brian pulls up at my site later in his golf cart with the loan of a coffee mug! In the thru-hiking/biking community they call that "trail magic".

Middleboro, MA KOA Campground…read more I was at an event recently and met the owners of a beautiful young golden retriever. Upon petting him I noticed he had suture marks all over. His owner/dad told me he was mauled by a pit bull at the KOA campground in Middleboro. Not only did the owners of the pit not care, but the managers of the grounds did not either. Beware.

Our 2 bedroom was really 3 - it had a loft and a pull out couch. Four of us slept their extremely comfortably. I highly recommend it!
