Now, here's potential deal breakers and/or makers about Dr. Sandesara so you can do the pros and cons for yourself: If you want a crunchy-style pediatrician with iPads in the waiting area to help you loophole out of the public schools' immunization requirements, keep looking. This is a pretty meat and potatoes operation. For all intents and purposes the office runs out of a storefront. Parking is on-street, exam room decor is strictly 1990s Disney, and the waiting room is run down and frequently crowded. On the upside, Dr. Sandesara is one of the most accessible doctors on our family's health plan. We have never dealt with navigating some ridiculous voice mail maze or a messaging service while simultaneously caring for a sick child. We actually have his direct cell phone number, which like never happens in this day and age unless the practitioner is a friend of the family or something. Example: my kid got sick one time while we were out of town on Christmas Eve, and we were able to reach Dr. Sandesara pronto. His staff is also super friendly. In brief: it's not perfect, but it hits the high notes in all the right places so it totally works for our family.

They also have another building, located right across the street. I absolutely adore the doctors here. Been coming here for 5+ years, and each time I am treated with nothing but respect. I always get a call the day before ,confirming my appointment. I never have to wait, sometimes I would come way to early, and if they were not busy I would get seen right away. And i have been seen by more than one doctor here in both buildings. They have valet parking available. Not sure how much it costs since i park on the street being a cheapass. It is a huge building with many doctors, so of course people will have different experiences, depending on which doctor you see.

Some of the doctors work also in the Wheaton office, but there is always plenty of people around to help. All of the people who work in the office are friendly- from the ladies who check you in to the nurses assistants who do the basics (extremely speedy and efficient with the new computer programs). They also have early morning hours where you can see a nurse practitioner for common ailments such as pink eye. I would highly recommend this office!

When my Mom choose her doctor and began her chemotherapy everyone was very nice, couldn't be more helpful. She completed that phase Aug. 2009. In Oct she began radiation but at a different hospital. Tomorrow we have the scan to see if the tumors are gone. Needless to say there is much anticipation. Though quite robust at the start my Mom is no longer strong enough to walk on her own, it has actually come on rather suddenly after the radiation and she is also now dependent on oxygen. When we called the office today to alert them to the need for a wheel chair, (this is only the second time she's been out of the house since Dec. 31st). We were told that no accommodations could be made by anyone at Haematology-Oncology. She was further told by the phone receptionist, "We do not provide any service like that". I am stunned at the lack of consideration shown her! The receptionist offered no suggestions at all! We have no idea how we will transport her from a taxi arriving at the curb (parking facility is too far away from the 676 building) through the long lobby to the 21st floor offices of Haematology-Oncology. And then she must go to another floor for her scan and then arrive back on the 21st floor for the results, all in the same day. I hope that other families will not have to be treated with such rudeness. Though this group is affiliated with Northwestern, a renowned hospital, the lack of respect for the feelings of patients is unacceptable. It was the most inhospitable treatment we've received through this horrific ordeal.

I didn't see any other patients in wheelchairs or with oxygen, although there was a wheelchair parked in the corner of the waiting room with a big note on it that said "IN USE, PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB." Maybe it was one that a patient came in. I had my first appointment with HOA, and it went really well. I just wanted to write a review to share my experience with Dr. Claudia Tellez, and the staff. Their office seems very well organized. The front desk greeted me right away, answered questions, and asked if I'd had a chance to fill out the paperwork they'd emailed to me in advance. I had, so I handed it over. They validated my parking, so it only cost $10 to park in the garage at Northwestern hospital (instead of $26). The $10 rate for parking is good for 7 hours. The waiting area is very clean and bright, and they have water and coffee available. I waited about 15 minutes to be called in for a vital signs check. Then I waited another 10 minutes in the exam room. Dr. Tellez was a very good listener, and very thorough. I didn't feel rushed, and she gives off a very warm, friendly vibe. She was professional, asked me a lot of questions about my health history and lifestyle habits, explained things in detail, showed me the test results my doctor had sent over to the office, and explained what everything meant. When I mentioned tummy issues that I have already yelped about, she recommended probiotics to help heal the lingering symptoms, and I was happy to hear that. I feel like a lot of doctors don't give probiotics the credit they deserve. So on that count, she struck me as pretty forward-thinking. She explained what she proposed we do about my situation, which made a lot of sense to me. She was very balanced, but cautious. I gave up some more blood for testing right across the hall at the lab, and the woman drawing my blood was very nice and professional, too. So I have an appt with Dr. Tellez again in 2 weeks. I know it's just one experience so far, but it was a good one.

Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center and Valley Medical Inn are sister service providers that were, in…read moremy case, a seamless experience. The Surgery Center, as implied, is an outpatient surgery facility. The Inn provides for more extensive "recovery" than is normal for an outpatient center (in my case the stay at the Inn was a few hours but could be as much as a couple days). That's the nuts and bolts...now the experience: It starts with a pre-op visit a few days prior to make sure that I'm ready, introduce the facility and review what I am to expect. The impression is of an exceedingly qualified, confident and professional team proudly providing the very best care in the very best and most comfortable (think spa vs. hospital) environment. Surgery day: I check in at about 8:30 AM. From then on, all of my first impressions prove correct. These people amaze in how well they anticipate all that is or might be needed to keep me calm and comfortable. After full hip replacement, I move to the Inn by early afternoon, have a spa-like lunch, a couple of short physical therapy sessions....and walk out with aid of a walker by late afternoon. Across the board, the people of VASC and VMI amaze in their dedication to provide the best care to their patients and their ability to make what is usually a frightening event into a painless, stress free and routine experience . If the words surgery and pleasurable could ever be considered in the same sentence , it would be here. In all this praise of VASC and VMI, I don't mean to overlook or slight those deserving of the greatest praise. A great surgical result requires a great surgeon. Dr. Shawn W. Palmer D.O. and all of the staff at The Hip and Knee Center are absolutely the best there are.

The studio audience jeers which is inevitably mixed in with the obligatory multiple *bleeps* for audibly uttered obscenities. The staff assured me that I would be seen in a timely manner, and they were right. Before I knew it, my name was called to see the doctor. The doctor I saw was very intelligent and knowledgeable. He answered my questions thoroughly and wrote me my prescriptions. One of the best doctors I've ever experienced. The doctor walked me step by step what I needed. I also got a referral quickly and easily. They are able to transfer my records to wherever I needed them without issue. All in all, Hermosa Medical Center was a great experience and I highly recommend anyone to go for their medical needs.
