I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time if you would like to do a tasting, because we were quoted a 45-minute wait time. Nice place good wine but DON'T sign up for their membership. First couple of years was fine then the troubles started. There's no way to call them and we've paid for two years membership now without a single delivery. We went there in person beginning of October and thought we got it straightened out but they did nothing to compensate for a years missed delivery. So off we go 800 miles home thinking at least its fixed. Well nope, not a single delivery and the phone number is a Verison cell number thats not in service. Dry wine drinkers beware! This wasn't my first time here, so I came in fully aware of the options. I came in for a wine tasting with family members. The staff were friendly and got us all checked in. We sat down at the bar and had about 10 different offerings. I am typically a dry wine drinker and they have all sweet wines so I didn't love any of the options. The bartender was friendly but not as engaging as others I have had. After the tasting we were able to select a glass of our favorite wine which was a nice addition. So much fun on a rainy day if you can find a seat near the music. We go on vacation-girls trip. We enter and pay the 15$ that gets you 10 tastes of wine. They put you at one of many enclosed bars with about 15 people. You score each taste according to how you like them. Barbara was most informative and accommodating as she gave personalized attention to each of us. During this tasting you get a dish of pita crackers and yummy sweet cream cheese dip in a container. After, you can take your glass to the bar and get a glass of wine of your choice included and n the wine tasting. The shop has plenty of items to buy as gifts and wine bottles of all different prices and types. We love to find a seat around the outside and listen to music / dance. A large, expansive winery that's fantastic for nice days outside. With their huge (overwhelming, really) menu of wines, even non-wine fans can likely find some flavors they can identify with. Go, seat yourselves, order your wine glasses, shop the gift shop, and leave when you're satiated. A very nice in-and-out experience that can last as long (or as short) as you want it to. PROS: -Huge wine selection. Wine that tastes like the dryest red you've ever had? Done. Wine that somehow tastes like sugary cotton candy? (more like a cider) Done. Wine that's a nice, smooth moscato? Done. Even if someone in your party isn't a "wine person", there's such a gigantic range of flavors here that they'll likely be able to find something tolerable. -Outdoor wine bar. Steps away from your outdoor chairs can be the perfect place to refill your wine glass. I'm not sure if it is a regular thing or if their outdoor point-of-sale was just down for the moment, but the outdoor bar was cash only. They requested you to head indoors to "prebuy" your glasses you wanted via credit card - then bring the receipt outdoors to receive the wines. -Large indoor bathrooms that are really clean. Considering how busy they were, I imagine the space in these bathrooms. -Huge, huge gift shop. Really, it's about as big as the outdoor seating area. If there's someone in your life who likes wine - or knicknacks with words on them or beach-y vibes - there's probably a gift here for them. This isn't the traditional garbage-y gift shop items you'll see at most gift shops. These feel more boutique and offer higher-end brands you're likely familiar with if you're a wine person. -Large, spacious parking lot. If you have a designated driver, this makes it easy to come enjoy yourselves - then leave afterwards. CONS: -Every time I drove past this building, I assumed they had a huge indoor seating area; the place is huge! Imagine my surprise when we went on a rainy, super-windy day to find out that the entirety of the indoor area is a gift shop - and almost all of the seating is outside. With South Carolina weather, this can be amazing (with more good days than not), but definitely plan for Duplin as a good-weather place to visit. -A lot of the outdoor seating is high top tables. As someone who abhors those, this was frustrating. There were a few low top tables and single chairs available. -Duplin Winery is located right next to one of the main stretches of road in Myrtle Beach - and if you end up at a table near the road, it is surprisingly loud. Especially with Bike Week (motorcycles) going on at the time, we regularly couldn't talk to one another. Everything is seat yourselves, though, so try to get further away from the road if this is a concern. read more

This is another one of my favorite things I did in Myrtle Beach. First of all, this place is huge. Inside you can buy many items such as a wine, gifts, and more. They have several bars inside and outside as well as a firepit outside. For $15 per person, you can do a wine tasting at one of the bars with a small group. We tasted 11 wines and at the time, you can get a glass of your favorite. They will also give you crackers and a Pineapple Habanero dip during the tasting and no, it's not spicy. I am not a huge drinker but I do love sweet drinks and most of these wines are very sweet so if sweet wines are not your thing, this might not be the place for you. The $15 tasting is a great deal and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend and would be back if I was in the area. I even went home with 3 bottles! read more

I'm a little in awe of the fact that I, a woman obsessed with muscadine wine, have been coming to North Myrtle Beach for over 30 years and have just now experienced Duplin Winery for the first time. What a magical place! The space is relatively large. Inside there's a shop where you can pop in and pick up some bottles of wine, local gifts, etc. Outside there is plentiful seating stretching over several decks, a fire pit, gorgeous trees, etc. There are also a number of bars throughout the venue -- both inside and out. For $15 per person, you can do a wine tasting at one of the bars with a small group of about 15-20 people. You taste 10 wines, I believe, and rank them. The cost of the wine tasting also allows you to get a complimentary $5 glass of wine to enjoy on the property after your tasting. A highlight of the tasting is the cheese dip and pita crackers that are served. I believe the dip is one of the in-house salsas mixed with cream cheese...but whatever it is, it's absolutely delicious. The thing I love about the tasting is that it allows anyone who isn't too familiar with muscadine wines to experience the range these amazing grapes offer. Yes, they can tend to be a bit sweeter in a general sense, but not always. Do the tasting. Eat the yummy cream cheese dip. Explore. Experience. You may be surprised. For what it's worth: Southern Mist and Mothervine are two of my favorite bottles that Duplin offers. read more

We came here on a Saturday afternoon while visiting the area. I have been to the rose hill one but not this location. This place was huge and busy. We only had a 5 minute wait for the tasting so we just browsed around the store to check it out. It was nicely decorated for the Christmas holiday. Our tasting room was full and we sampled 10 wines and had homemade cheese dip which was good and crackers. The crackers were on the hard side so didn't like that part but other than that the tasting went really well and I enjoyed it. Afterwards we used our drink ticket to get a glass of wine and sat on the patio to enjoy the weather and view. I definitely would return back here again. Wine tasting is fun ! read more
