The…read moreRainbow Hot Springs is a 10 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Pagosa Springs. Also located in the San Juan National Forest. The forest occupies land in Archuleta, Conejos, Dolores, Hinsdale, La Plata, Mineral, Montezuma, Rio Grande, San Miguel and San Juan Counties!! They have plenty of campgrounds (with friendly campground hosts) and nearby Horseback Riding opportunities. I came here with a good friend of mine, as we visited South Fork, CO. The weather was perfect in May of 2021 and I needed a Chilly Mini for my neck. We spotted some gorgeous waterfalls and really unique plants. San Juan appeared to have had a forest fire in the last 5 years, because we definitely witnessed some aftermath. Lots of old, dead and burned down tree trunks. The trail is fairly easy, a little rocky, but such a great cardio workout for your calves. We spotted some wonderful rivers that kept my friend and I very cool.

The website states that the dam is being worked on and that the lake might not be full. When we arrived today we were horrified to find a mosquito swamp for a lake. We bought out of state fishing licenses that cost more than $100 each only to find that you can't get to water to fish and what's there is stagnant and pungent. We are so disappointed. The federal recreation website needs to state that there's virtually no water in the lake and fishing nor any water activities are absolutely impossible. We are so upset and disappointed after making the reservation six months ago and paying a premium rate for supposedly a lake site.

I would give them 4.5 stars because you only get good location, everything else is basic, no frills no thrills, all gravel and sites are tight and a bit overpriced for what you get. The fun part is that the very steam train you take to go to Silverton on the narrow gauge goes by the campground and makes this a magical place. I guess they are well aware of and that is why the rates are higher than other places for what you get but there is no competition so just dish out the moolah and have fun

Our 43 foot coach had difficulty leveling on the steep rock/dirt site they gave us and when we were ready to leave, the staff would not let us choose a path out that would keep the coach out of the trees. Instead they routed us around the edge of the property through treed canopies that our 13'4 clearance could not get through and caused a series of scratches down the top of the front cap and sides of the coach. The park was super tight for larger rigs. We would not recommend putting a larger bus on this campground.

This is one of the best RV campsites we have stayed at. It is a smaller resort, but that makes it…read morefeel so much more homely. Plenty of space between the sites, well kept, even saw a mosquito truck spraying in the morning. The owners take pride in this resort and it shows all the way through. Everything is convenient and thought through. The dog park is spacious with immaculate fencing that can even keep small dogs contained. Its quiet and peaceful. Nice views of the mountains.

It seems like they have been done by someone who never had a RV or Travel Trailer. Laundry was listed under inclusions, but it is not included and is 7$ per load which is pricy. Also when booking instead of just a nightly fee they do nightly fee + per person fee for over 2 people, plus if you have 50a , basically pay attention to the fees. ( first time I ever camped at a campground where they did it this way)

It is also a recent acquisition of a mulit park co. of a 56 year old Lightner Rv park. It has short spaces and they'll put you in one with traier or rv hanging out in the road...I know I got damage to my truck as someone backed into it. A beautiful little valley but crowded cluttered and certainly not worth the $85 and up fee. Trust me, better places exist.

She's super funny (dry humor, great wit and some hilarious group shots!) and very river savvy. We were safe and it was so fun!! We rafted on a day later in the season with the Animas river running about 200cfs--perfect for a group of with children, novices adults and an active senior. We didn't get stuck once and made it through some tight fits without even touching the boulders. "All Net!" we told her :) The Mountain Waters Rafting crew were awesome. Loved the lead guide's safety presentation that was peppered with some great humour. Punctual; clean gear; loved all the writing in the bus. Great place. Can't wait to book more adventures with them!

Relaxing, Fun, and Perfect for the Whole Family!…read more Our family (kids ages 8 to 15) had an absolute blast rafting with Mountain Waters. It was the perfect mix of relaxing and fun--just enough adventure to keep everyone engaged without being intense. Sam, our guide, was fantastic. She made the whole trip a blast with her quick humor and steady stream of bad dad jokes (which I'll admit--I appreciated more than I should've). She kept the kids laughing and made the whole experience feel easy and memorable. The photos turned out amazing, and I'm just glad we all stayed safe during Beaver Shark season. Highly recommend for families looking for a fun, light adventure with a great guide.
