Really jusy leaving a 5 star review because they've been very consistent when I order here for my wife because she loves the butter chicken and garlic cheese naan. On top of that, the staff is very courteous. I was just in here yesterday and the gentleman taking orders was very kind and often placed his hand to his chest (in the middle east this a gesture of kindness/respect). He also gave me a complimentary tea. Personally, I'm not a tea drinker but I appreciate the gesture. My wife loved the tea. I think at the very least, Durbar is worth trying out if you haven't. read more

In Cheyenne, Wyoming having Indian and Nepalese food. The same guy who eats hot noodles and soup when it's triple digit temps. To many, it's weird, but to me, the stomach gets what the stomach wants. And on that day, it wanted fresh, flavorful dishes prepared with a mix of spices and some spicy heat to go along. Missed on the heat but overall, it was a good experience. First - Durbar is in a strip mall - pretty modest facade. Even in the interior is simple, functional - and comfortable. It was hot out and it was nice being indoors. Second - service was good too. Attentive as needed. Mostly for refills. Did I mention it was hot out? Needed to hydrate. Friendly wouldn't be a word I'd use but it wasn't unfriendly - the server was there, did what needed to be done and handled business. Then there's the food - see pics. I enjoyed my lunch combo - the only thing I mentioned about being a miss was that I did request spicy. And for those who know me, I know what you're saying - nothing will be hot for me. However, the spice level here must cater to the demographics because I didn't feel a tingle. So, I'm glad the flavors made up for it. Aromatic and rich to go with the buttery texture and spice of the dishes. I enjoyed how the naan was prepared - would have loved it more if it had more of a garlic punch. Now you know I love garlic. So, I've been to Wyoming a few times - just not recently. Not sure if I'll be back but I know that if I happen to, and I'm craving Indian/Nepalese, I'd definitely make a return visit. read more

So very acceptable Nepalese/Indian food especially for Cheyenne. Food was quite good and tasty, and relatively authentic. The vindaloo and tandori was quite good. The naan was a bit off, but acceptable. The one primary issue we had was that we asked for their spiciest level, and it was definitely 'Wyoming' spicy... we were looking for a 5/5 spice level and it was about a 3 to 3+. So not as spicy as desired, so definitely ask for spicier than what you would normally, as it is a spicy scale tailored to the market in question. Service was acceptable, except for the fact that the server's English was poor enough that we were not sure he got our order correct until he brought it back and it was correct. There was a lot of confusion with placing the order. He was pleasant enough, but I think to take orders you have to understand the language well enough to take the order. For some items we could just point to the picture in the menu, but that did not work for everything. Prices were reasonable. Probably the best Indian in the area, would definitely go again, but we'd probably get more insistent about dialing up the spice level. read more

We stopped here our first night in town based on the reviews. Unfortunately we were underwhelmed. As we walked in there was no one to greet us and we waited several minutes before we were seated. The ambiance was what you would expect from a strip mall location. To start we ordered the chili and onion naan. We love Baan, and this was the first time I really didn't like it. We expected the chilis inside to be roasted but the naan was full of raw green jalapeños . The texture and flavor was just off. To make matters worse we ordered one basket and they brought and charged us for two. For dinner we had the chicken vindaloo and aloo gobe. We have had these fishes many times at other flavors. My hubby and I were passing through Cheyenne and I was craving Indian food. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and our server was great! We ordered: garlic naan, vegetable biriyani, tika masala, and the chicken kabob....and some drinks. Everything was excellent and we ate every last morsel. Don't think I will be going back here. After we were seated and got the menus, it was a while before I got someones attention to take our order. To start they don't have sweet tea or coffee. Mostly soft drinks which I don't do, so I had water. Everything was over cooked. The lamb was tough, the fish had too much seasoning on it and for 22 dollars I think I should have had more than two shrimp. The best thing I had was the rice with the sauce they serve. read more

The first time I was at this restaurant, I was so surprised by what a great find it truly was. In our travels across country we went out of our way to stop at this restaurant because I remembered how good the food was. Unceremoniously located in a strip mall on the edges of downtown Cheyenne, this restaurant has easy access and free parking. The restaurant is clean and simply decorated. The restaurant offers very limited alcohol options with beer and some wines, however they do have a nice selection of Indian style beverages including chai tea. This restaurant is not open every day and has limited hours at lunch and later in the evening so plan accordingly. They offer dining room service and support a very brisk carry out business. The food is just phenomenal and our server was just great. Our appetizers of oversize samosas with chutney and papadum were just great to set the tone. We enjoyed butter, chicken, Aloo Gobi, and saag lamb which were all very special and uniquely flavored. The restaurant offers spices level to accommodate any taste. Yes the food is amazing and the naan they give you is fresh. We got the chicken curry and chicken tills masala we couldn't tell which was which but both was AMAZING! It's shoved in a corner and forgotten about but everything I've tried there was great. It feels good inside the restaurant it's very quiet. I've always wanted to try Indian cuisine and I finally have. I must say it was pretty damn good! My family and I were driving through on a weekend camping trip and so I jumped on yelp and this was about the only restuarant that jumped out at me. I am so glad we stopped by. The magic they do in the kitchen definitely shows! Everything tasted wonderful and different. I ordered the Saag, which was delicious. My mom ordered the Kaido, which was also very tasty. My sister ordered the chow mein, which was very very spicy, so if you don't like spice I would stear clear of this dish. Then there was the garlic cheese Naan which was perfection! The only thing that we were a little disappointed about was the price for the saag and kaido. It was a bit expensive for a small bowl of chicken. We ordered medium and spicy and are a family who eats very very very spicy food. None of the meals tasted spicy. They were all mild in our opinion. But we are also a Hispanic family from Chicago. So our spice level tolerance may be different. Also we have access to a ton of delicious authentic Indian food in Chicago so this was a wonderful gem to find while on our road trip! Stopped by this small restaurant for a quick week-night dinner with my wife and we were absolutely blown away! Upon entering the restaurant, it didn't look like much, but what it lacked in appearance, it made up for with bold flavors and excellent service. We weren't too sure what to order at first, but the staff was very friendly and asked if we had any food allergies before making a few suggestions. We ended up settling on the combo platter appetizer to start, which offered the perfect mix of tasty bites that weren't too filling. Next, we ordered the tandoori chicken, chicken chow mein, and garlic naan to share. When we were brought the food, our order ended up getting mixed up and we received tikka masala instead of the tandoori chicken. However, this mistake ended up being a blessing in disguise. The tikka masala was simply delicious and ended up being our favorite dish on the table! On top of that, our waiter made up for it by having our tandoori chicken made to-go, free of charge, which was nice. As if that wasn't enough, the garlic naan was amazing with a soft and airy, yet slightly crunchy texture, and the chow mein was beautifully seasoned and brought some welcomed spice to the table. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed and found it hard to believe that a restaurant of this quality exists in a place FILLED with the same old, copy and paste, american food restaurants. My husband and I love Durbar. We've tried several of their dishes, and we leave happy every time. Their food is fresh, homemade, and full of flavor. It's hard to pick a favorite, but my meal tonight was incredible. I recommend starting with a mulligatawny soup and getting the chicken tikka kabab as your entree with rosemary garlic naan. The plate comes out sizzling with flavorful, tender chicken and a delicious sauce to go with it. The owner is so kind too! This is such an amazing restaurant.
