Among the best Vegetarian and Vegan options for Chinese food in Cheyenne. We've been eating here since 2001 and one of the things we appreciate is that they have been very willing to make meatless versions of dishes for us, substiting tofu for the meat protein in almost any dish and being clear about when that is not possible such as soups made with a fish stock, chicken stock, or sauce made with a beef stock. For us this started with being able to get a Kung Pao Tofu, and now we frequently enjoy Vegan versions of Singapore Chow Mei Fun, Spicy Basil Tofu with Vegetables, Vegetables Mu Shu with Tofu added, and Vegetable Bean Curd Soup made with a meatless stock and added fresh ginger. There items no longer on the menu which they also make upon request such as Vegetables Egg Foo Yong (vegetarianbut not vegan). A friend like added fried tofu so while their is a small added charge for the added tofu it still remains a bargain. They cook the tofu either fried or soft per your stated preferences. Likewise if you want something Vegan, just let them know to leave out egg. From the beginning with a different owner in the past they avoid using MSG, and offer a "healthy menu" which uses less oil and less salt. Truth is those versions are also less tasty but if you are trying to be more careful about what you are eating they are there and better than most other places with similar options. While the family and the servers frequently speak limited English they are going to serve Americanized versions of Chinese cooking which still is among the better outside of San Francisco or New York. They strike a balance between their native China and Wyoming, doing it well and try to accommodate customer preferences as much out of sense of hospitality as business savy. This is a real bargain for eating out with most vegan or vegetarian dinner entrées or lunch plates under $13 in 2025. Portions are generous. We share an entrée bring home the remaining half, and have a meal to share as "leftovers". They used to have brown rice but no longer do due to a combination of lack of requests for it and no doubt costs. If it's something you would like, ask, even if they don't have it, it let's them know it's some customers would like to see return to the menu. Golden House offers tasty vegetarian and vegan options in an unpretentious atmosphere. It is located in downtown Cheyenne across the street from a city parking garage and usually there is also street parking available nearby. If there is something you would like and you don't see it on the menu or if you need a dish prepared in a different way, ask. One of our favorite not on the menu dishes is Vegetable Singapore Noodles Chow Mei Fun, a golden curried thin rice noodle we order without egg to make vegan, and we have them add steamed tofu to it. read more

You can get better portion sizes at any other Chinese restaurant in the city. The costs are overpriced for what you get and if you like vegetables and are expecting what the pictures advertise you may be disappointed as we were, they aren't even close. Too bad, we wanted to like this quant place but it's obvious they cut corners at the consumers expense. read more

General Tso's chicken was extremely bland even though the description said spicy. Paid 3.75 for a 16oz coke. Couldn't even provide a 20oz for that price and the site only said "bottled". Egg fried rice was also bland and didn't have any egg in it. I will not be going back. read more

My husband and I wanted Chinese food and we typically order from Good Friends but they're closed Sundays.. so we tried Golden House and we loved it! We now have a new Chinese spot in Cheyenne. I ordered take out and the woman taking my order was so sweet! The food was ready fast and it was fresh and delicious! The fried wontons were so good and filled with delicious pork and the fried cheese wontons were light and flavorful. The wings we ordered were big and a good amount cones in the order. First of all, their food is delicious. Feel comfortable ordering anything on the menu, because it's all great! I love their shrimp fried rice, and so does my little one (he always steals some from my plate). Second of all, the staff is the best. When my child was hospitalized, we ordered from Golden House to deliver our food to his room since we were too afraid to leave his side to eat. Not only did they deliver, but the second day we ordered, the staff and delivery driver asked us if we were doing ok and told us they hoped our little one was better soon. It wasn't just lip service - they genuinely cared about us as people. I ordered a delivery of Wonton soup, Egg rolls, and General Tso's chicken. They advised it would be about 45 minutes to an hour which to me seems like a long time. I ordered at about 6:30 so figured I'd be safe with the downhill slide of a post-dinner rush. True to their word though it was a little under an hour wait. The Egg rolls were bland and oily/greasy. Soy sauce didn't help much. The main dish was also bland but not as much as the Egg rolls. They chicken was also marked (on their online menu), to be spicy. It was not. The Wonton soup was actually decent. Could have used basic seasonings (salt and pepper), but it was good on the whole. They used fresh/frozen peas and carrots and that helped. Golden House holds the rare distinction in Cheyenne in that it's one of the only Chinese restaurants in Cheyenne to deliver. It has a standard lunch buffet, and a standard dinner menu. If you use them for delivery, then expect to be quoted an hour to an hour and a half for delivery. As far as the food. The food tends to be less flavorful than I like. After walking up and down a few streets we came across Golden House. We got sat down quickly and our order was taken in a speedy and friendly manner. I ordered the Basil Chicken with Hot and Sour soup. Steve had Eggdrop soup and Jalapeno Chicken. I wasn't all that impressed with my soup. Just average but they gave us crispy noodles to put on top of it which made up for it a bit. My Basil Chicken on the other hand was great! It was very fresh and everything was cooked just right and had a great flavor to it! Steve liked his soup more than I did and liked the Jalapeno Chicken just as much as I liked my dish. Listen, this place is legit. My absolute only knock was that the soup wasn't as thick as I like it. Everything was super hot when I got it. That alone is astounding. The chicken was actually spicy for once and had tremendous flavor. The soup also had some good kick to it. The fried rice was thick and flavorful, almost perfect to be honest. My boyfriend and I went here on a Saturday night after having previously exhausted most other mediocre restaurants in Cheyenne. We were however pleasantly surprised by Golden House, which we had never really considered going to before. The service was a little slow in seating, having our order taken, and getting drink refills even though we were only 1 of 3 parties in the restaurant. We had the crab wontons which came quickly and were piping hot and flavorful. The wontons, compared to other local Chinese restaurants, were on the smaller side but since one order comes with 8 wontons the size wasn't a big issue. I had the chicken chow mei fun which, while very tasty, was a little dry. My boyfriend had the curry beef which was very salty and the sauce tasted like curry powder instead of a well made and integrated curry sauce, but over rice the salt and curry became less noticeable. The prices were good, $25 (less tip) for 2 people and we had tons to take home! In reading the menu I also thought the family options were better than other restaurants; starting at $11 a person with generous appetizers and the choice of any dish under $9 (which is most of the dishes on the menu). Overall, we were happy with our experience and will most likely go again! Though we will probably just get delivery or pickup due to the slow service on what wasn't even a busy night. read more

Hands down some of the best Chinese food I have have had in a while. Love the family style servings? And the prices are really affordable. Ordered the Szechuan Chicken, Orange chicken, and steamed dumplings. All was very flavourful, just moved to Cheyenne from the San Fransisco Bay Area where there are hands down some fabulous eateries. I rate this spot 5 stars due to the shear fact that the food was amazing... The service was fine as well, I noticed someone gave this spot a poor rating for their service. I find that confusing... We came here for a late lunch on Sunday and it was empty and quiet, thought it was buffet style but it looks like they do not serve the buffet on Sunday. Service was great, and the food was a nice hearty serving. Love the rice and crispy sweet and sour chicken. Price was fair and not overpriced like other Chinese restaurants.
