I am writing this review because I miss eating at "Buffalo Indian" so much! While I was working as an "OTR Driver" every time I would pass through Wyoming, I'd make sure to stop by. They are by far the BEST in the nation! I've ate at numerous restaurants all over the United States and definitely will forever have strength in my belief! I am currently living in Houston, TX & dream of getting a chance to eat there again. If you're in the city of Laramie, you are BLESSED! read more

Wow - this place was a big surprise! Don't be fooled by the humble restaurant setting. The food is great! SO MUCH FLAVOR! I live in Portland Oregon where we have LOTS of great food to choose from, and we have a few Indian restaurants, but none of them are as good as this one. We got a lot of different things, just to try them out, and ordered all "mild spice", because we're wimps. :) But that didn't result in less flavorful food like it might in other restaurants. I have never tasted the mix of spices like I have here, especially the Biryani - incredible! We got onion pakora, lentil soup, chicken korma, vegetable biryani, chicken pakora, garlic naan, cheese naan (which were huge!), and Gulab Jamun for dessert. Passing through and deciding to stop in for take out, and was this the perfect choice. The food was super fresh and piping hot when we got it. Everything was delicious and did not disappoint. The saag with chicken was amazing wished we got another order just because. Everything was seasoned to perfection and the heat was hot but we loved it. Don't judge the restaurant by the outside appearance. These are hard working folks, serving delicious food. We had chicken masala (spicy enough with 2/5 heat level), garlic naan, coconut tomato soup, and cucumber/tomato salad. If you're looking for a break from greasy fast food, stop here. read more

Truckers can park here!!!!!!! Do not let the western theme building deter you!! My husband and I are truckers and we were able to park our truck right next door making the walk in the snow very short. We have tried many Indian places across the country and this one takes the cake so far! The mango lassi is creamy and sweet. The naan portions are HUGE. If you're a vegetarian the veggie korma is great the sauce is creamy and mild but heads up you have to like green beans lol The masala sauce is excellent not super spicy so asked for medium or higher but my husband had it on lamb and he gives it the best review! We ate, are completely stuffed and we're taking full Togo boxes that we'll eat tomorrow for lunch! Try this place out if you're driving on the 80 you will love it. read more

What a nice surprise! Stopped on our way to Medicine Bow and found this gem. I don't like tomato soup but lived their coconut nut version. So yummy. Naan was thin and crispy. We also enjoyed the butter chicken and korma. I would get med or higher spice. read more

This place was I got the safe choice. Butter chicken. I like I hot so I got a level 4 out of 5. And it was warm. But I'm a chili head, so I asked for some extra hot sauce. And they brought me some kind of hot sauce paste. Wow! took it to a whole nother level. Probably the best Indian cuisine I have had in a long time. I added the onion cheese naan. Not gonna lie the onion was pretty intense, but I like it that way. Definitely worth every penny. read more

Hey what can you say when you're traveling through Wyoming and you find an authentic and delicious Indian restaurant with great service other than WOW!?!? The building is straight out of the old west and looks like it has a ton of history. The interior is nothing fancy, but the food of great. We had the sag paneer, tandoori chicken, chicken vindaloo and garlic naan. Everything was lovingly prepared and the staff was pleasant and accommodating. Food was delicious, the garlic cheese nanny was great and the butter chicken was terrific.

Saag Paneer was pretty good but the butter chicken was a sweeter less spiced sauce which indicative of lower quality butter chicken (I've had this dish over 100 times all over the world and know what I'm talking about). It's not much to look at, inside or outside. Just off the freeway, I thought I was going to get Native American food, so I was somewhat surprised to get Indian food. Buuttttt... Honestly, it's really good, and rivals anything I've had in LA. I evaluate a place by the biryani, and it was quite delicious here. Fragrant, whole and fresh spices, delightful lamb chunks. The rice was a tad undercooked, and broken, but very minor issues. I got the "Indian Spice" level, and it wasn't overbearing at all. In fact I was mildly disappointed, but the heat built throughout the dish, and by the midway point, the temperature had risen to a respectable level. I sampled the garlic naan as well. Quite garlicky, maybe a tad raw, but I enjoyed it despite being accustomed to a slightly more toasted experience. The place was packed, so I'm delighted that the locals are supporting this place and ensuring its success, it deserves every bit it finds here in Laramie, and could easily compete in the most international cities on the continent. I hope it continues well into the future, for it would be amazing to have such a place to look forward to when I'm in this part of the world. read more

Child sized portions are disappointing for the price. $17 for the vindaloo, $15 for daal tadka, Both are barely the size of a cup of soup, not even a bowl. I did get a carton of rice to share for both. This amount of food was worth maybe $8.25. It was tasty, but nothing more than an appetizer for two "entrees". I ordered indian hot and it is slightly above medium hot. Very disappointed. I needed to go to safeway and get a chicken breast along with additional ingredients and a bag of lentils to stretch this into a meal. The "sauce" I ordered was a pathetic box of a couple slices of onion, an 1/8th of a lemon, and a sliced serrano. Maybe .35 cents of veggies for $3. Total ripoff. I bought yogurt and cilantro and added it in to make a nice sauce. Shouldn't have to to that. On the plus side naan was really good. I would never suggest anyone go here. Price for quantity is ridiculous. An entree wouldnt feed a child. . It took $20 more to make this a meal for my wife and I. read more

We were on a road trip, Chicago to Vancouver, WA, when our stop for the night took us to Laramie. We thought steak would be in order, but being Mother's Day, all the steak houses were booked. Through YELP, we found Buffalo Indian Restaurant. Being fans, we decided to try it, and honestly, I'm glad the steak houses were full. We tried everything: the Chili Chicken appetizer (nice heat, and the only thing we finished), Aaloo Gobi, a potato and cauliflower dish), Makhani with lamb,Tandoori Chicken (with a delicious sauce), Raita, and Garlic Naan. It was really tasty, but we couldn't finish it. They graciously packed it all up, we put it in our cooler, and had a yummy leftover dinner when we arrived home two days later. Besides the meal, their service was excellent. I highly recommend. read more

The quality has definitely declined, and I'm, unfortunately, not as much of a fan. The flavor has just really flattened out. The naan has turned into more of a roti in flavor and texture (which is fine, I like roti, I can just make it myself). The paneer is much more firm than it should be. Small stuff, but it adds up. It's fine, but its draw is now that it is in town. Everyone who works there is super nice, and I still prefer it to the gas station indian down the road because the menu options are more extensive. read more

Pretty tasty stuff but their lamb is severely overcooked. Try dishes with sauces like the Butter Chicken. The Samosas are good.

What a great find in Laramie, WY - authentic Indian food! Generous portions and delicious flavors! The Butter Chicken was awesome with just the right amount of medium spiciness. Tandoori Shrimp was also excellent with the right amount of marinade and grilling. And you must have the garlic naan with whatever you order.
