The reason for only 3 stars is because twice now my pearl has fallen off the stem that is supposed to be screwed into the pearl. Thank God I didn't lose it when it fell off. The first time it fell off my necklace it was only a few months old I wrote to the company and they told me to ship it back to them, they would pay for shipping and fix it and send it back to me. They did just that, it took about 2-3 wks. to get back. A few months later the pearl fell off again in my lap. I have tried to screw it back into the pearl but it won't hold. I plan on calling them this time to see what they will do to make this right. I do NOT want to have to send it back to them and have to wait weeks to get it back. I am about ready to take it to a jewelers myself near by to have it fixed right and be able to wear again. This necklace is my favorite and its hard to enjoy when your afraid of the pearl falling off it and losing it forever. A necklace you pay over 300 dollars for should not come apart! Even worse twice now! DN After a few emails to the owner, Kevin he gave me the choice to either send the necklace back to him for repair ( a second time) or glue it myself with super glue or epoxy glue. I got various names of jewelry stores but when I looked up each highly rated store the reviews had no reviews for restringing or repairing. My daughter's jeweler said "bring it in and let me see" which means to me that it was not her specialty. Ann had very few reviews on Google, but all 5 stars. That usually makes me think family and friends did the reviews. BUT I searched Yelp on Yahoo and saw she had 75 reviews and still 5 Stars. Comments were very helpful which included that she can do them while you wait. As a mom of a FVHS athlete, running her own business, I can see why she doesn't have perfect hours. I'm sure she'd rather watch her teen's event whenever possible. I absolutely enjoyed my less than half hour in her presence. We chatted while her hands flew through restringing my necklace. She learned her craft from her mother and for fun she likes to time herself so that when someone asks how long a repair would take, she'd be able to answer with some proven experience. Just a fun gal. This necklace was my mom's and was worn by some of my siblings and myself for our weddings. Ring hunting was not fun, actually, it was kind of brutal. I quickly found out that you need to walk into a store knowledgeable and with a firm vision or you will either be ignored or pounced on. I got neither of these treatments at Single Stone. My TOP criteria (so I don't bore you with all of it!): 1) certified conflict-free diamonds 2) budget 3) unique or vintage inspired look 4) a tug on my heart ;) To avoid buying a conflict diamond, I first thought of engineered stones, but the look was too "perfect" and lacked character. So, back to diamonds, I called and searched for ones with a Kimberly Process Certificate. Wow, it was pretty shocking to find out almost no one could provide one or even know the origin of the stones. How can you certify it if you don't know where it came from?! The solution was found with Old European Cut diamonds from Single Stone! These diamonds date to early 1900's which put my worries about the horrible events in Africa in the 70's (and on) to rest. I encountered calm, attentive staff who were happy to appease my slow-paced browsing and decision making. Although, the first moment I saw my ring, I just knew.

When I came in to pick it up, Sam had an almost excited look on his face as he prepared me for the big reveal. You could tell how proud he was with the final product. As he took the ring out of the bag, my face lit up - I could not believe how beautiful it was. It genuinely looked every bit as good as the day I had bought it. The missing stones were replaced, all the settings were inspected and reinforced, and the gold and diamonds were cleaned and polished. I give my strongest endorsement to Modern Jewelers.
