When the technician arrived the next day we found out that the $69 was just to show up. Not to do any testing or diagnostics. $371 later we found out that our unit was broken and would take $3,200 to replace. I'm ok paying for service, but when I spoke to the company by phone they didn't bother to tell me that the $69 was just for showing up and that I would be charged $370 just for diagnostics. I would NEVER have agreed to that. I consider this a bait and switch of the worst kind. The story does have a happy ending. I called another company who replaced out water tank. It was a rare quality according to my husband because most contractors would just give you a 2-4 hours time slot and they show up late (as we experienced with another plumber for a second opinion.) Since he came all the way over, he was willing to wait for my second guy's opinion so I could have a balanced opinion.
