Food was great - clean interior and has outdoor seating I'll echo a lot of the posts here - it really is a lot of food for the money, honestly you could split one gyro and fries between two people pretty easily

A good place for Greek and Mediterranean is Durum Grill. It has real big portions. The falafel is the best item on the menu. It also has other classics. Pretty much everything is good there. It's in a strip mall in Blue Ash. Maybe that sounds kind of horrible. The food is good though. It has a small dining area. This place can get cramped, but people come because they like it, so that's a good sign. I had the falafel pita. It's about $6 for only the pita. The falafel was pretty big size. It was cooked enough without it being burnt. This was much better tasting than those Americanized gyro shops. I saw many other good looking items on the menu. Some of these include the hummus and tabbouli. It's the best Mediterranean food in Blue Ash. I have loved everything I've eaten. You can't go wrong with a falafel wrap.

    gyro platter

One of my favorite places to go for a gyro platter. Portions are very generous and the salad was very fresh. The place is small and you may be the only customer there at the moment. Nothing fancy, but it is great comfort food.

    Dry ass gyro meat

I wish I knew how to say terrible in Arabic or maybe disgusting. Oh where to start ..... We originally did an online order through door dash for pickup. I arrive and no one is in the restaurant except for the cook/owner who in the back eating. He comes out to the counter and goes on to explain that he didn't get the order from door dash even though they sent us confirmation that they sent it to his establishment. Anyhow he tells us to cancel it through door dash and just order with him and we oblige. A gyro platter with fries and salad and substitute babagenoush, a falafel wrap , side of rice and hummus. Let me start by saying the only thing that was good was the rice. I didn't get any babagenoushe , they put the fried and salad in the same to go container so the fries were soggy and the salad was warm -- smh. The gyro meat was the worst thing ever. It was dry and hard like jerky. The hummus was sooooo chalky like they used old tahini , no lemon or olive oil and dry chic peas. I paid $35 for a seriously bad meal and I will never go to this place and I suggest no one else do. There are plenty of better Mediterranean places to eat at that take pride in their ingredients and the food they put out. You can tell this place doesn't give a damn.

    Falafel döner

I discovered this oasis of excellence in a strip mall setting in Blue Ash. I had searched Yelp for "authentic döner" while in Cincinnati and this place popped up. So I drove over here to check it out on my way back to Indy. I ordered a vegetarian döner, with everything. It was stuffed with ingredients and covered with just the right amount of sauce. The falafel was tasty, the veggies were crisp. I would have enjoyed a spicier sauce, and I will inquire if a spicy version of the sauce is available. This was a quick stop as I didn't have much time to spare before I had to head back to Indy. But I had enough time to note that the employees were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was very clean. All the food I observed looked delicious and I plan to return here the next time I am in the Cincinnati area to try a platter. The baklava looked amazingly delicious and I will definitely try that on my next visit. Blue Ash has several hidden gems, add Durum Grill to the list.

    Chicken durum kabob

I've been here a few times before as my office is near by. Today I arrived around 12:30 and there was quite a long line. The cashier (and I believe owner) was very nice, but the rest of the employees were super quiet. I ordered the chicken durum kabab (pita filled with chicken, lettuce, tomato, onion and tzatziki sauce). Once they finally started making my lunch, I realized that I wanted to add some toppings. I asked for pickles and banana peppers to which I believe she put in 3 pickles and 2 small banana pepper pieces. I also added the hot sauce they have, which is very tasty. I was disappointed however in the oily chicken. It was not all white meat and it seemed like it was cooked in 1/2 a cup of oil! I know it was the lunch time rush, but I feel like a somewhat healthy lunch was not so healthy or fast today.

Chicken platter. Generous portions. Bland food.

This review is based solely on the food as my coworkers and I ordered delivery from here. I never visited the restaurant or interacted with staff. They say we eat with our eyes first and visually my eyes were happy. After taking my first bite, I realized the presentation was as good as the meal was going to get. The chicken was cooked well but had no discernible flavor and lacked salt. The rice was bland on its own and the chicken certainly wasn't of any assistance. The hummus was average at best. I've had much better. The side salad was a bizarre mix of ingredients one might find in the fridge before declaring it's time to go grocery shopping - pickles, olives, shredded carrots. Just a strange combo and not very appetizing. The pita that came with it was nothing special. On the plus side the portion sizes are large. You could easily get 2-3 meals out of it. The issue is I wouldn't want to get 2-3 meals out of this. Actually I would have been fine with getting none. At the end of it all I was left with a lot of leftovers for food that I'd happily give away.

Overall, I would say Duram Grill is middle of the pack as far as restaurants for Mediterranean and Turkish style food. The salad is great, but felt the baba, chicken shawarma, and rice were just okay. Flavor profile was just not up to par from my experience. I like brighter flavors and felt theirs just lacked a punch! Would definitely recommend the salad, probably better to have the gyro meat as it seems to be better reviewed across the board. I will say the portions were huge and filling and the service was good. Would definitely come back for another try on another day!

Only thing is I wish they could make it gluten free. I got the Mira bowl in a kid size portion and had boiled eggs as an add on. Perfect portion! The bartender recommended the smaller size since I was getting waffles and I'm glad she made that suggestion. Lavender latte with oatmilk was light and delicate. Just what I was looking for. Nothing was too sweet and I enjoyed everything. The inside had a nice airy feel to it. They have a cute little kids corner filled with books and fun stuff for the little ones to stay busy while waiting on meals. They close at 3 so I recommend enjoying it for brunch/lunch!

Being visitor from VA Beach, I asked what's the recommended dish, the server suggested omelette. But I wasn't in the mood for omelette so I saw shakshuka. I tried their Green Goddess version that has spinach (instead of tomato sauce) and feta. The food is a solid 3. I also ordered the Dubai Chocolate latte. It was a 3 as you taste more the milk than the chocolate syrup. I also got their chocolate chip banana bread.

We are in town visiting and we went there for a nice meat meal after several days of dairy on the road. There were 6 of us at the table with 2 children. If I lived in town I would not be going back. They had 1 waitress working the entire place. She was kind enough but all she did was make excuses. We sat down at 6:15 and we did not get our hummus appetizer, which apparently they ran out of soon after, until 7:15. When we arrived there was only 2 tables occupied so it was not bustling. I am not sure how or why it took so long to prepare Hummus but given the ingredients I could have scratch cooked our entire meals in a fraction of that time. Again, when we arrived there were 2 other tables of 2 and maybe 1-2 small orders picked up during out time there. During our visit they had several more groups come in, some served before us, some getting the constant refrain, "we are out of this." It seems like there was 1 chef in the kitchen preparing all the food on their own. It is also highly problematic that they had 2 small children sitting there for an hour with not even a little bread or anything. We had to push the waitress to get the hot dogs out so they would calm down. As for the food, most of it was OK. The ribeye was properly cooked. The braised short rib was tender with a little wine flavor. The kids hot dogs were hot dogs. The chicken schwarma was flavorful. The Israeli salad was what you would expect. The green beans were overcooked, unseasoned and tasted like nothing. The worst and most impressive thing was how they got the mashed potatoes to taste like they came from a powder out of a box. I don't often leave something completely uneaten but they were inedible. How you can serve a $50 steak with such artificial swill is beyond me. I get it, they are the only option. Fail!
