Decided to stop in somewhere different for lunch downtown and was very impressed with Dust Cutter. The restaurant is inside the Renaissance Hotel and had an eclectic mix of patrons stopping in from what was likely travel or for a quick lunch break. I'll admit that I was a little worried when we took a seat, nearly every table was full and between the bar and the restaurant floor, they had only two servers. However, the restaurant was well staffed and prepared for a busy lunch rush. They had a food runner, management was refilling drinks, and a busser took care to clear tables. I ordered the B.L.A.T.T., an amazing avocado, turkey BLT. It was reasonably priced and I highly recommend it. 5 stars for amazing service, food, and atmosphere. Sonoran style upscale dining located in the Renaissance hotel. The modern flare is a nice spin to the recently renovated hotel. I celebrated a friends birthday a few days ago and had a wonderful time. The offerings on the menu were different which was a talking point among my party. We all ordered different dishes which made us want each other's plates. The portion size for the price was nice. The food was very tasty as it was cooked to order. Everything was perfect. A new swing to downtown dining. Even though we sat off to the side in a semi private areas they had a happening bar with business professionals. I highly recommend stopping in to give them a try. Arrived at 11:30pm and told they were closing at midnight and they already had their last call. Stop using COVID as an excuse and update your hours. Be wary of the distance between the kitchen and the bar because this will have an effect on the temperature of your food... I am only going to give three stars because my husband & I were very disappointed with the service. With twelve people seated around the bar, we were astounded to see the bartender turn her back to her customers and play crosswords with her friends. We witnessed a man ask for his check. What a wonderful find while on business travel. Most hotel restaurants are blah. This place is inside The Renaissance Hotel, newly remodeled and has an awesome menu! The bar is beautiful and set up for socializing, looks like a great meeting spot after work or with friends. There are a few small tables but also has quite a few large hi top tables for large groups. Cute rustic lux feel. I had the chicken & waffles it was amazing in flavor even the watermelon was pickled and has a spicy kick. The chicken was tender and juicy and was a nice meal portion.I love the bourbon syrup you can definitely Taste the bourbon.... I may even have a lil buzzzzz Just don't pour the sauce over top as the waffle is lacking on the crunchy crisp of a perfect waffle so it will get soggy fast. While staying at the Renaissance, we decided to order takeout from here and stay in to watch the playoffs...SO glad we did!! Ordered the tomato poblano soup- really delicious and had a nice kick to it! Also ordered the blue corn nachos- I was kind of bummed they were out of the Beyond Chorizo (my BF is pescatarian) BUT they were kindly able to sub out for grilled chicken on the side for me (and they gave me a TON of it so I can't complain at all). If you're looking for a laid back but delicious dinner experience, this is your place! The Gaucho Style Flatbread was a super yummy way to start things off. For our entrees I ordered the burger and my boyfriend ordered the smoked chicken tacos. The burger was simple but cooked perfectly and the fries were great too! The tacos came with a dipping broth that was phenomenal and made the meal more fun to eat. The cocktails were a great addition to our meals as well - the Vieux Carre was the perfect balance of sweet and savory! Not sure about the cocktails I got straight tequila. So maybe my review is biased, or maybe that's the only way I could try to enjoy the food here... If you enjoy fast food then definitely try this place out but if you are looking for actual delicious quisine that you will be satisfied with keep it moving. We got some appetizers and entrees and nothing felt more out together than a microwaved hungryman freeze dried. 32 bucks for a over cooked sirloin steak hit with some dried up chimmichurri was too much..I think my DNA was damaged by all the microwaves I injested here... Located in the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Phoenix, this is a nice little bar with food service, while the food is good, and reasonable priced for a hotel bar/restaurant the service is a little slow. They don't seem to have enough servers for the crowd that was there the night we stopped by. There were quite a few people in town for the ASU Commencement Ceremony and Many of there were at this hotel. Had the Steak Frites and it was perfectly cooked, wife had the pulled Pork Sandwich and it was huge and tasty, daughter and her husband had burgers, everything was very tasty. Server was very nice, just seemed a little overwhelmed by the number of people. Came by for after dinner drinks and dessert over the weekend and was really happy we decided on this place as the ambiance was perfect for date night. We selected a table to the side which remained quiet and secluded when the middle area by the bar got busy late at night. The Ibarra Chocolate Brownie S'more was a deconstructed dessert which was a pleasant suprise and tasted really good. The prickly pear flavor was a good twist to the traditional s'more. We went here because of a recommendation that their drinks were awesome and that they were in a new PHX cookbook because their chef was so good. I'm not a huge fan of hotel restaurants for basically all the reasons why this place wasn't my fav. The music choices were decent, but it was soooo quiet BECAUSE it's in a hotel lobby. It was basically a ghost town BECAUSE it's in a hotel lobby. There was not a massive staff, so nobody to seat us and only one bartender and one waitress, BECAUSE it's in a hotel lobby. Now the decor was cool but again it's because it's in a hotel with an unlimited budget. We were there during happy hour and there were no lists of what that menu was on their digital menu, and when we asked the waitress what was included she said she wasn't sure at all "maybe some drinks and some apps?" So I asked if she could find specifics out for us? Funny to have to ask again. After a while she came back telling us a couple of things but still didn't seem too sure, it was a little weird. We ended up ordering two apps and drinks on the happy hour menu, as well as a southwest caesar salad. The fries seemed like freezer fries warmed up which was a bummer cause I actually thought the toppings were pretty good. The flatbread was probably the best. The steak on it was decent. The salad was garbage though. I couldn't figure out what made it southwest because there was basically no flavor or toppings that made it anything besides a generic salad. The chicken on it tasted like water, there wasn't even salt and pepper on it let alone anything else. Compared to the other options in the area, this restaurant was amazingly gorgeous - props to the interior designer and the owner of this location. The food seems well thought out and flavorful, and well presented. The service was the weak part of my visit, but the flavors made it all worth it when I finally, finally got our food.
