What can I say, I'm writing this as I eat. I was seating here for almost an hour with no attention from our server. Worst part there was no sign of us getting our food either. I had been drinking the same beer since I got here , as for the food it was definitely not worth the wait. Pizza was a mehhhh at best one side of the crust was way over burned. The wings were dry. They came out looking well well done. I don't know if they were overwhelmed but the lack communication and attentiveness took away any grace from this review. It could've been a cool place to eat at but I'm now regretting stepping foot in this establishment.

After the Lainey Wilson concert my friend and I were looking for a place to eat but a lot of the restaurants were not open. We were walking by Desmond's and saw their pizza sign was on! We sat in a booth near the front door, it had just rained so there was a nice cool breeze coming in from the front entrance, it was fantastic! The gastropub was very comfortable and cozy. It was around 11pm on a Thursday so they were only offering pizzas at that time. We split their truffle pie, wow! It was delicious. My favorite kind of pizza- garlic, mushroom, parsley, parmesan and truffle oil. Great place to go after any event or show if you're near Phoenix arena.

My girlfriend and I left Phoenix Arena after a concert and were starving!! It was 11pm on a week night, everything seemed closed. As we were walking we heard Chris Stapleton music and noticed it was coming from a place with a neon pizza sign in the window that was open! What a great spot! Such a cozy gastropub. We walked in and grabbed a booth. Ordered 2 glasses of red wine. Since it was late night they were only serving pizza from their wood-fired oven. We ordered the Truffle pie (garlic, mushroom, parm, and truffle oil) it was SO good we ate the entire thing! They played great music. It felt so comfortable. We stayed longer than we expected because we were enjoying the atmosphere eating and drinking. This will definitely be our go-to spot for after concerts, sports games, or events downtown!

Wanted to stop in to The Kettle Black, but the restaurant/pub was fully booked. However, the server who greeted us mentioned that The Desmond Spirits and Oven next door is related and that we could stop in for pizza and beers while waiting for a table. So we stopped into Desmond. They had great craft beers on tap along with the Pesto Chicken Pizza. Glad we were able to try this spot! Great service, with the staff checking on us frequently to make sure we were taken care of. There is seating inside and outside, with sports playing if you want to catch a game. Cant wait to make it back to Phoenix to try there sister restaurant. Great centralized location to the arena and transportation!

The pizza and cheese curds were alright. The elote appetizer wasn't too much to be desired . Whenever we have been here of an evening the service and food have been amazing but this time we were there around lunchtime and the service wasn't the best and the food wasn't up to par either. I'll go back again but probably only of an evening.

Ambiance is great, I personally loved the decor and the vibe it gives. Each employee we interacted with was kind and friendly. Our server came to our table within a minute of us seating ourselves. We were greeted on entry by the bartender. Tables and floors clean, no dust on the decor. We ordered appetizers today: Wood fired Brussel Sprouts and the Earl Caprese. If you're in the downtown phoenix area I'd definitely recommend this place! 10/10 will return

Sundevil Pizza - Look at that thick, boring, bland crust.... Does this resemble any brick over style pizza you've ever had??

Came in with a co-worker for lunch on a weekday... It wasn't busy at all and our server, Alex was friendly and helpful.... But overall, he was the only one working the dining room and service was affected and slow because of this. He greeted us as soon as he could, but he had to bounce from table to table constantly before he could take our order. We started with their salad, which was really good. Made with decent, fresh ingredients. Next up what their Sundevil pizza and it was decent. The crust was too thick for a brick oven/wood fired pizza. The crust resembled a "Dominos" style crust... bland and dense. The topping were decent, but the sauce didn't do much for the overall flavor of the pizza. The day before I went to The Kettle Black and service was horribly slow there as well... I think these two joints are part of the same restaurant group and find it odd that both would be managed this way. Overall - I'd get something other than pizza if I returned.

We went late at night after a baseball games for a quick bite so I wasn't super hungry so I ordered the elote and definitely was not what I was expecting! They gave a pretty big portion and on the cob, a little on the spicier side but the flavor was so delicious! Would come back just to get this!

We decided to try here when the place we were going to next door had a 45 minute wait. There was open seating and we instantly found seats at the bar and were greeted by the bar tender as we sat down! The restaurant is a small location but very quaint and not crowded with tables on top of each other. A very comfortable environment and CLEAN bathrooms The pizzas were delicious and they were not opposed to substitutions or modifications! The drinks were amazing!

We came here to meet a friend for Happy Hour. Good cocktails and drinks. Friendly bartenders and team members. Went over right around 5-6 pm on a weeknight and there were plenty of seating options, which is nice! Need to return to try the food next time!

We had to have walked by this place several times without stopping. Shame on us! When we walked in, the place was empty. But soon thereafter, it started to fill up. We sat at the bar and Taryn our bartender was charming. After a couple of drinks, we ordered their wood fired sausage pizza. It was delicious. All the ingredients worked well together. We enjoyed our experience there and will continue to stop by when we're in the area.

The Clarke Burger was perfectly cooked and the fries crispy.

After departing Stand-Up Live around 8:30pm on a Thursday, had planned to grab a bite and some pints at the place next door - but The Desmond was 'bumping'. Couple Church Music Hazy IPAs, cool crowd / vibe, music, friendly and personal bar service from Colin....and 'The Clark Burger' was cooked perfectly with crispy fries - both on point. Great place to do a drop in after a concert, game or show - just a stone throw away (3-minute walk) from such venues. Thank you, The Desmond team and company. We will be back.

Went here for lunch as it is just across the street from my office building and loved the overall experience. Not cheap but worth it. Overall I would recommend this place for the taste. Here are my takes: Food/Drinks: We tried pizza. It is wood fired one and tastes very good. The ingredients feels premium quality and can't complain anything about it. They do have a nice drinks menu but we did not try. Service: Welcoming staff and service was fast as well. Ambiance: Nice interior and outdoor seating along the walkway & they do have road facing high seats where we exactly sat. Has full bar too. Satisfying experience overall. Price: A little over average for sure but for downtown and the quality it is worth it. I would not go here every day but wouldn't mind being here on special occasions.

My partner and I RSVP'd for a Thursday 7:30pm flight from NYC to Tokyo. Per our email, we were instructed to arrive about 15 minutes early to pick up our flight tickets from the downtown restaurant Wren & Wolf. Spoiler alert: Carry On is a speakeasy attached to the back of the restaurant. After picking up your ticket, you walk around the corner to the large orange "plane" door, which opened punctually at 7:30pm to start our experience. We gave our flight attendants (the staff was indeed wearing flight attendant uniforms) our tickets at the front desk, and were given free Carry On pins before being escorted to our table. Despite being a Thursday evening There were overhead announcements and even windows playing animations emulating a real flight experience from take-off to landing! The interior is gorgeous, from the furnishings to the lighting. Craftily, there are many mirrors inside to create the illusion of a larger space. The menu emulated an in-flight menu, with food and drinks based on the trip's theme! We ordered an additional drink each and an onion dip that were all creatively crafted and delicious! All in all, Carry On is the perfect date night or girl's night experience. While it might not be in most people's price range for a casual night out, it is definitely worth trying for a special occasion if possible. I would love to go back and am looking forward to the next destination's theme!
