The atmosphere is relaxed but still feels a little special, which makes it perfect for both casual family dinners and date nights out. Our order is pretty much locked in at this point: the Humble Wings with chili honey are a must (perfect balance of sweet and heat), the Cauliflower Tahina is so flavorful and satisfying, and we always get The Gentleman pizza. Sometimes we swap the sausage for pepperoni, and it's honestly so good either way. Everything feels thoughtfully made, and the consistency is a big reason we keep coming back. Vibe here is weird. Wait staff looked a bit skanky wearing tube tops. Decor was similar to that old Italian restaurant that had long ago seen its better days. Who hangs heavy gold curtains? Menu was ok, thought it looked thin. Now, for Jade... our wait staff. She must be very new as she did not know the menu, how menu offerings are prepared, didn't mention the extra charge for a tea refill, rushed the meal, nice personality... but lacked what waiting is all about. My family and I visited this location on Monday, May 12 to celebrate a late Mother's Day. From the moment we arrived, the service was very friendly. Our waiter, Boston, was amazing--he was knowledgeable about both the menu and drink selections, and provided great service throughout our visit. They offer a daily happy hour from 11 AM to 5 PM on select drinks and appetizers. Wine and beer selections during happy hour are around $6, which is a great deal. We ordered the Humble Fries ($9) smaller portion from we order previously back in March and two hamburgers--one with fries and one with a side salad. The only issue we had was with the Caesar dressing on the salad. It had a very tangy, pickled jalapeño flavor that we didn't enjoy. It would be helpful if servers gave a heads-up about the unique flavor, just in case guests overlook that detail on the menu. I also ordered the Cajun chicken pasta, which was flavorful and well-prepared. My only suggestion would be to include more chicken, as it came with about six small strips--adding a bit more would really elevate the dish. As for drinks, while the happy hour is a great value, I would recommend adding one or two sweet wine options. Most of the current selections lean toward the dry side, so having a sweeter option would give guests more variety. Overall, we had a great experience. Boston went above and beyond--he was friendly, attentive, and even took some photos for us to capture the moment, which we really appreciated. I have been wanting to come to Humble for a while since I'm always near the stadium for whatever reason. It's in the Adeline, which is a solid location especially for walk by traffic. It's an Italian restaurant/wine bar with fresh pasta and an extensive wine selection. There are many things I'd like to try so I'll return but this evening chicken parm and lasagne were a nice start. I would describe the food as fresh Italian home style cooking which was perfect for a Saturday night out. The servers were a little confused and the team effort wasn't quite there but they made up for it by being both pleasant and impossibly good looking! Downtown has many places to check out and Humble bistro is worth a visit. read more

We came on a Thursday night and the place was practically empty. Our server was definitely new and still getting the hang of it. The bottle of white wine was good and they bring you a sleeve to keep it cold. We got the chicken parm and mussels and frites. The chicken parm was lackluster and needed a better crisp on the cutlet. I took my nephew here to celebrate his belated birthday. I will start off by saying that the we had no idea that an F1 race was going on in downtown Phoenix. We were immediately seated which was nice but once seated, we waited for awhile. There had to be at least 3-4 servers that passed us by and NOT one persons acknowledged us. A group of people came after us in a booth in front of us and a waiter went to acknowledge them first. I immediately was upset and kept calling the server his attention. He finally came over. I informed him we had been at the table for a while before the other people, etc. I was livid. Another server came and asked if we were being help. I told her the situation and asked who was supposed to be waiting on our table. I didn't get a straight answer. I was told they were packed and everyone was helping wheee they could. It made no sense and seemed there was no system in place. I understand restaurants get busy but the least a server can do is acknowledge a table, inform us that things are busier than usual and offer us water/drinks. After making it clear I was unhappy with the beginning of the service, I will say the waiter and crew were attentive. I enjoyed the food while my nephew and his girlfriend felt The Gentleman pizza while still was lacking some flavor. 3 stars are solely due to the beginning of service. Would I come back yes? Maybe it was an off day but I will say the lack of attention and fact that I had to hunt down a waiter to acknowledge me does not sit well with me. read more

So i need to update my review. Since my first review i have eaten here roughly 7-8 times. A mixture of lunch and dinner. Consistency is it major issues. Main meal coming out before appetizers. I was excited to try their brunch, that hasn't happened yet, they haven't started offering it, they have reprinted their menus to say "coming soon" for brunch, but the door says brunch from 11-3pm Sat and Sunday. The food still is excellent. They just have to get the finer things down. They have taken the creme brûlée off their dessert menu which was some of the best I've ever had. read more

10 out of 10. We found Humble Bistro while searching for a new restaurant in downtown Phoenix, and what a find! We were surprised to learn they have three locations across the Valley. It's been a long time since we've sat at a restaurant and said, "Wow, this is amazing!" about every single thing we ordered. We started with the $9 Cajun Shrimp appetizer during their happy hour (offered daily until 5 p.m.). The shrimp, the sauce, and especially the bread to soak it all up were absolutely incredible. In fact, we kept forgetting to take photos because we were too busy enjoying the food! The Brussels sprouts with hummus were some of the best I've ever had, and the hummus paired perfectly with them. We also tried the Gentleman's Pizza Pie with pepperoni and the Cajun chicken sandwich--both were outstanding and packed with flavor. This was easily one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time, and we'll definitely be regulars. We've already recommended Humble Bistro to friends who live near their other locations. You can find good food everywhere, but you can't always find GREAT people representing it. They do not take reservations and I was told we were on their wait list and to call again two hours prior to showing up to ensure we were on wait list. Disclaimer, we are happy hour deal/ small plate lovers. We also like a nice atmosphere . Humble Bistro checks all the boxes. Food: Shared 2 smaller plate. Cajun shrimp & Truffle pasta with meatballs. Both dishes were fantastic. The meatballs are a pork, beef combo & are super moist. Just enough pasta & one meatball each. The shrimp was a perfect shareable with a side of thin focaccia. 3 pieces total. We splurged on a very generous portion of shared churros, filled with a caramel & ice cream. This was not a happy hour priced dessert, but we were very surprised at the size! This was a splurge for sure, but the price was $8! Quality + bargain. Drinks: Happy Hour Brut was really good with a hint of berry or lavender. House red was very aromatic & heavier, which I like. It did not feel like we were sacrificing to save a few bucks. Staff: 3rd visit, and everyone is just delightful, friendly & enthusiastic from hostess to server. Top notch staff! Atmosphere: feels very euro bistro, with a playlist that transports. Stopped by here on its grand opening weekend, but you wouldn't be able to tell because they were already running smoothly and the service was fast and super friendly. I got the expresso martini and they suggested a Baileys add on, which was delicious. For appetizers we got the fornonbread and brussels, I lived the bread but the Brussels were also really good and almost more like a salad of crispy brussels leaves and bacon. It was a great appetizer. For the entree I got the pasta Rosa and meatballs and it was also tasty and filling. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. read more

Checked out the new Humble Bistro in downtown Phoenix, and it's a solid addition to the area, especially being so close to the arenas. The decor is great--really sets a cool vibe. Food-wise, the Humble Caesar is absolutely delicious and easily my favorite thing on the menu. You also have to get the Forno bread; it is a total must. The Pasta Rosa had good flavor, and the meatballs were so good. Service was a little on the slow side, but I'm cutting them some slack since they just opened. Definitely worth a visit. read more

I've been in for a glad of wine and the forgot bread. DELICIOUS! The bar hostess was very nice and checked on us continously. We sat at the bar and people watched. We live in the neighborhood so we saw our neighbors and waved. This is a great addition to the neighborhood. Very nice decor! Nice lighting! Bathrooms... interesting, a little confusing initially, but not bad. The prices are nice and not overly expensive for downtown Phoenix. Dining Date: 11/18, 11/20, 11/23, 11/26, 11/30, 12/4, and so on.... I've been waiting for Humble Bistro to open downtown since September, so when a neighbor messaged me saying, "It's open!" I practically flew back home, dropped my bags, and headed straight down to check it out. And let me just say, I was absolutely surprised and impressed from the moment I walked in. It's a little hard to find if you don't live in the area since there's no signage yet, but it's right on Jefferson Street. Just look for the door, walk in, and let the warm, low-lit ambiance take over. The space feels cozy, sexy, and intimate, with great music setting the tone in the background. The first night I went, I sat at the bar with a friend who also lives downtown. Our goal was to "scope out the bar staff," and mission accomplished. We ended up coming back twice or more a week for the past month or so, and every single bartender has been incredible. I won't list their names out of respect, but trust me: everyone behind that bar is talented, welcoming, and knows exactly how to craft a great drink. They make me an amazing martini (consistently), and all the cocktails they've made for my friends on different nights have been spot on. The bar is truly one of the highlights of this place. The service overall has been equally impressive. The hosts, the servers, and yes, the chef, are friendly, personable, and genuinely invested in making sure you have a great experience. The chef occasionally comes out to check on guests, which is such a thoughtful touch and something you don't often see at restaurants anymore. Now, the food: I've basically eaten my way through the entire menu. I've had all the pies, most of the signature dishes, and nearly every appetizer. Everything, truly everything, has been fantastic. I've been a fan of Humble Bistro since the High Street location, so I had high expectations... but this downtown location met and exceeded them. This place is exactly what downtown Phoenix has been needing. A warm, elevated neighborhood spot that works for everything. A pre or post game drink, a date night, a business dinner, or just a "treat yourself" kind of evening with fabulous food and cocktails. My husband and I were frequent diners, since he recently passed away my treatment by staff has on occasion missed the mark. Today I stopped by at lunch, the "hostess" refused to seat me in the area that has tables for 2. She offered the bar which I declined for knee related issues. There were 2 tables for 2 pushed together on a wall and clearly available, I asked her if I could sit at one of the tables for 2. I have been here multiple times when they moved the small tables apart so they could accommodate 2 parties of 2 each. She insisted that she couldn't seat me and that the 2 tables shoved together for 4 couldn't be separated. Really?!!! I wish I'd asked her name, instead I left and went to a restaurant that treats single diners better. I won't be back. read more

After patronizing the downtown location three times in the last two weeks and ordering the burger every time with a bread modification due to Crohn's disease, I was informed tonight on the phone by the female manager that modifying the bread impacts the integrity of the sandwich and they could not modify. After asking her to understand it is a medical condition and has been done the last three times, she said she would make an exception only this time. I explained it was shortsighted considering it was medical. I will no longer be a neighborly customer and will be sure to let my 600 neighbors know my experience. read more

I have visited 5 times. Great and clean decor, food is above average. A lot going for it including natural sunlight, the very reason I frequent lunch and Happy Hour. Staff is efficient and they work as a team. I had thought music volume was loud during the day which I solved by wearing my airpods. But last Thursday at dinner, conversation was impossible at an oppressing 85-90 decibels (so said my Apple watch), prompting my usually shy wife to ask to lower the volume. Both the server and manager informed us that the Owner wants it LOUD for ENERGY. This from AI: "70 dB - Busy traffic, a vacuum cleaner, TV at normal volume; 80 dB - Heavy traffic, a garbage disposal, alarm clock; 90 dB - a lawnmower, shouted conversation -- prolonged exposure can cause hearing damage." This restaurant has very little in in terms of sound dampening, as in carpeting, fabric wallpaper or overhead sound-absorbing boards thus making the sound bounce and echo off the ceramic floor, walls, furniture and glass walls. As a hotel, restaurant and nightspot operator in the New York/New Jersey, I lived that concept of ENERGY from music. However, that same ENERGY can be derived from lively customer conversation which is muted here because of the struggle to converse with a person next to you, forget that person across the table. How about employing managers you can trust to adjust the volume when needed, higher or lower. Dining is social entertainment which includes Music. In this case, Music is destroying their good food effort. I would otherwise rate this 4-stars. read more
