I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately we left pretty disappointed. With such a huge menu, I'm sure there are some tasty finds, but getting two of the most straightforward breakfast items this wrong was hard to overlook. I ordered the Mom Omelette and my friend ordered the Mile High. Both were incredibly bland with almost no flavor, and the ingredients inside were barely even warm. My friend's cheese wasn't even melted, which pretty much summed up the experience. Nothing tasted particularly fresh, hot, or well put together. I will say our waiter was very friendly and attentive, and we didn't have to wait long for our food, so the service itself was not the issue. Beyond that, the atmosphere didn't really do anything for us either. It honestly felt like an IHOP experience with a different name, and for a local breakfast spot, I was hoping for something that stood out a little more. Maybe we happened to order the wrong things from such a large menu, but when a restaurant can't nail two basic omelettes, it doesn't exactly make me eager to come back and experiment with the rest of it. My friends and I decided to come here for brunch. They don't take reservations but do have a virtual waitlist you can join. We arrived around 930am on a Saturday and didn't have to wait, but when we left at 1030am there were a lot of people waiting. I really liked how open and bright this place was, with lots of fun brunch quotes on the walls. There was a bar area and seating was indoor or outdoors. Broken Yolk has a lot of fun food and drink options and all kinds of different flights. They also offer a variety of food options too for breakfast and lunch. Our server was Nox and she was awesome! I decided to try the choose two Benedict's deal and chose the chicken and waffle & border Benedicts because of how unique they seemed. For my side I choose fruit, Unfortunately both of the Benedict's were underwhelming, and when my plate arrived, the food felt barely warm. The chicken and waffle Benedict had too much hollandaise sauce on it, and the border Benedict was just ok. My friends all seemed to like their food though, and this place seems to have a lot of other options. I would probably comeback here and give it another try. There are a few locations around the valley too, so maybe I'll try a different spot. read more

First time trying this place, we went around 11 am for brunch. We were a party of 4. It was busy in there, but we were sat in maybe 8-10 minutes. Our server was very prompt in greeting us and grabbing waters for the table. They have a nice extensive menu. Our orders were as follows and rated by our party: The California omelette 6/10 due to being also salty and the food was slightly cold, the chicken and waffle Benedict 8/10 , Bettys southern biscuit and gravy with chicken 7/10 biscuits were hard, and I had the ranchero skillet. I only ate my sunny side eggs that were on top. My food was unfortunately way too salty. The manager had come around and someone in my party mentioned my food was over salted so I couldn't eat it anything besides the eggs. He was kind enough to take it off the bill. The restaurant its self has a clean aesthetic and we were able to talk pretty easily for as busy as it was. Our service was great unfortunately the food was a miss. I appreciate the manager taking my food off as I could not not enjoy it and I typically like a reasonably seasoned meal, but I couldn't taste any other flavor profiles other than salt in this dish. read more

Went here for breakfast with a friend. Service was absolutely fantastic. Quick and kind and attentive but not overbearing even when they started getting busy. My skillet was very good. The Bloody Mary flight is a fun idea but I ended up preferring my mimosa. It's spacious and bright inside and has a nice patio. read more

Hard floors, walls and ceilings reflect sound, taking my hearing, especially in popular places full of happy talk lubricated by bar offerings, silverware and dish sounds. *Vegetarian Foodie Review* Our first day of the trip in Arizona, we ended up coming here for brunch. As a vegetarian (no eggs), I was hoping to find some good vegetarian/vegan options. Most places had long wait times, around an hour or so, and when you are traveling, you really don't want to spend that much time waiting. Thankfully, there was no wait here. Huge parking here at this complex so parking was easy. The menu was extensive, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices. Ordered: 1) Belgian waffle w/ banana and whipped cream - 4/5 - My 5 year old ordered this. Requested banana and whipped cream on the side. 2) Açaí bowl - 5/5 - What a treat! It was filling, generously portioned for the price, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious! My daughter loved it so much she ended up sharing mine. They also had a great kid-friendly menu, but since she was really hungry, we ordered from the regular menu. Our server was very attentive and helped guide us toward dishes that fit our dietary needs. The ambiance was cozy and relaxed. Even though they were busy, the service didn't feel rushed. Best breakfast meal I've had in a while. Thank you to the hostess, who started it off with the sweet and fresh OJ. Then the pumpkin spice pancakes rolled it, perfect for the season and to lighten up the gloomy weather. The Benedicts were cooked and prepared so delightfully well, I jumped right on it. The hash browns crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Filled my appetite so well that I had to take the rest with me. Ate the rest throughout the day. Our party of 7 came in here this past week for brunch. We were seated pretty quickly which was nice but the service was not friendly at all. We had to wait up to 10 minutes everytime we needed a refill (which all of our sodas were flat & lacked proper carbonation.) We are very easy going/friendly customers but our server seemed very annoyed of us & acted like she was so bored & bothered that she was at work. Stopped for breakfast while we waited for our cars to be service at a local dealership. We walked in and were immediately greeted and seated. I love the selection of food they have. The different mimosa flights are amazing. I need to go back and try all the options. Went with the tropical ones and was not disappointed. The food came out quickly and our server was friendly and efficient. Great personality and not pushy. We also noticed that the manager was walking around checking on guests. To me that's a huge plus! It shows quality, care and ownership of your restaurant in my opinion. 5 stars for that alone. We went early and it wasn't too busy but the place was clean and organized. Came here with friends for brunch for our book club meeting. We were told there would be a 20 min wait which we were fine with and it only took 15 minutes. Once we sat down, we waited almost 10 min for a server to greet us and bring water. I had to flag a server down. Once we had water, I asked for lemon and never received it. The plain water was terrible. Whole the service was only ok. The food was very good and We loved all the different alcohol flights. When it was time to pay our server gave us one check vs asking if we wanted separate checks. I am still up in the air if I would recommend to others based on service. I appreciate the staff working as a team to make sure everybody's drinks were filled, and they quickly removed plates from our table, so we could enjoy our conversation without plates in front of us. The water here is great! Good to drink and everybody knows that I'm a big water snob so this place definitely has my water blessing hehehe. I am absolutely thrilled to have discovered my new go-to breakfast spot! The restaurant was buzzing with energy. To my surprise for a Sunday morning, the wait to be seated was refreshingly short. Our server was exceptional, she went over the menu in detail and the mimosa flights sparked my curiosity. The food was genuinely outstanding; I opted to forego breakfast in favor of a club sandwich, which was nothing short of phenomenal. The sandwich had a generous helping of crispy bacon and sliced turkey, and the bread was toasted to a perfection. I also treated myself to the mimosa flight, which was a truly delightful experience that lifted my spirits. lol!!! The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals and enjoying themselves. The restaurant was very clean. It has lots of windows so it's bright and the decor was nice. There are seats at the bar and plenty of tables to accommodate different group sizes. The server was both efficient and courteous. I met one of my girl friends here for late brunch on a Sunday and it was really nice. It was busy, but not packed or loud. Our server was normal - I had to ask for refills on my hot coffee but other than that the service was normal. We both got the Mom omelet and we both loved it! Today was my first time eating at Broken Yolk Cafe. I ended up getting a peppermint mocha latte, tres leches french toast, with a side of eggs and bacon. The latte was really good, and I liked that they put tiny pieces of candy cane in it. I thought my French toast was OK. It didn't seem like there was much flavor aside from the blueberries and strawberries. I didn't add any maple syrup to it, and maybe I should've done that. They were super busy, so it took about 20-25 minutes to get seated. It was also pretty loud, and didn't really feel like it had the cafe vibe. I'm glad I got to try this place, but I still prefer Breakfast Club. read more

Stopped there on the way home from Phoenix this morning. I ordered the feta avocado toast. My husband brought the food out because we were eating on the go. I actually threw away my entire meal because the avocado was all brown, the arugula was wilted and old and there was no feta. Came to this place off the reviews we saw online and had higher hopes, can't say it was bad but definitely short of expectations. Drinks we got were good, as the OJ felt fresh and the Specialty drink had good flavor, the Fried Chicken Biscuits and Gravy had good flavor as the chicken was cooked great and gravy had great flavor, but the biggest part of the dish, the biscuits were very dry and rough which is what hurt the dish because everything else felt great but the dry biscuits made it hard, the steak and eggs was rough because out of caution we usually try to get them Medium because some places do tend to overcook which is understandable because no one is perfect but yeah the steak was very tough and made practically well done where it felt dry and hard to chew which was disappointing, Cinnamon Pancake was good but French Toast felt dry from the trio. Service was ok, because the lady that helped up was not rude or anything but small things like missing on creamer for coffee and throughout the whole experience only followed up on the table about 3 times and just felt like there was not much conversation or connection you would've expected on a brunch. Ambiance was nice when walking in because the atmosphere felt like a nice and welcoming setting, just wish there would have been more interaction and some improvements to the dishes would've made everything better read more

My husband ordered a breakfast bowl with Serrano peppers that tasted excellent but was pretty spicy even for him, so just know that if you order that it'll be really spicy. The "home fries" were like wet potato chips. On no planet are those home fries. Tried The Broken Yolk recently and left pretty underwhelmed. The rice and beans arrived cold and tasted bland with no seasoning. The Cali breakfast burrito was a letdown too -- the bacon was way too hard and the eggs had that powdered, not-so-fresh taste. To top it off, the pumpkin cold brew had a sour note that just didn't work. The bright spot was the pumpkin pancake, which was delicious. The environment is cute, and the service really stood out. Multiple staff members checked in, and our server quickly replaced the cold beans and rice, then circled back to make sure the new ones were better -- a nice touch. A couple things made the experience less enjoyable: * The loud "ding-dong" every time someone walks in is distracting and annoying. * No pre-bussing -- dishes piled up, which makes the table feel cluttered. Overall, the service and vibe were good, but the food didn't deliver. For me it's more of a 2.5, but I'll round up to 3 stars because of the staff. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come back -- the flavors just weren't strong enough to justify a return. read more

This place has a very good menu and they customized my order and it came out perfect. We ate pancakes and they were yummy! They have a full coffee bar and mimosas and bloody Mary's! (We need to go back again and try them) We sat in a booth and there was plenty of room for 4 people. It did not feel crowded. Our waiter was excellent!
