Ubered a hour to get my roots touched up. I even texted them ahead of time to make sure they can do it. My roots are brown and my hair is blonde. After waiting weeks for the appointment, I get there to find out "they can't dye my hair". What a waste of my time and money. I have very thick, curly hair that is difficult to properly color and extremely difficult to blow dry, so it does not get frizzy. Many stylists say they can effectively blow dry thick, curly hair, but very few actually succeed. Dustin is one of the few stylists who knows what he is doing. He is great with color and he's a terrific stylist. Dustin listens carefully to direction if you want a specific style or color, but if you don't quite know what you want, he also can create a perfect, new look. His coloring techniques are excellent and his styling outstanding. Dustin is not a "Chatty Cathy," which I prefer, and he is a genuinely nice person. Made an appointment for noon, showed up 10 minutes prior. Once I found the studio I stepped in to make sure it's the right one and said I had an appointment for 12. The guy looked at me and said with attitude that it's not 12 yet and I have gotta wait outside. Asked for water, he replied there is vending machine outside. LOL. 45 minutes later I was still sitting outside and he didn't even check on me once and didn't even acknowledge me.. SERIOUSLY??? Walked away and got my hair done next door. Bad bad business. I'm shocked this man is able to stay in business with the uncivil and contemptuous way he treats his customers. I bought a Groupon for a haircut, full highlights, shampoo/conditioning, and style. My voucher went through on February 4. I called Dustin on February 6, and left a message. Not hearing back, I called again on February 7, and was curtly told by Dustin himself, "No, sweetie, you have to text. Just send a text to this number, okay, sweetie?" I texted him on February 7, asking to book for February 14 or 16, as I really needed a haircut. Again, I did not hear back, so I texted him on February 9 to follow up. I did not hear back until February 11 when he asked me when I wanted to come in. I booked for 10:00 a.m. on February 28. As I did not hear from him, I texted him on February 27 to confirm. Consistent with the previous patronizing tone, I received a smiley face in return. ":)" On February 28, I was already halfway to the salon when I received a text message that said, "Running 20 minutes behind." As my appointment was to start at 10:00 a.m., that means he should be there at 10:20 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., I asked him what his ETA was. He texted back, "Parking." He did not arrive until 10:45 a.m., 45 minutes after my appointment was to start. I'm not sure if he expected rainbows and kittens in my demeanor, but when I walked in, he was glued to his iPad. When he looked up, he said, "Hello." I said, "Hello." He went back to his iPad. I asked him if he was ready to begin. He looked at me and said, "In a few minutes." I replied, "I've already waited 45 minutes." He said, "Well, I just walked in." I said, "My appointment was at 10:00 a.m. How long before you'll be ready?" He went back to his iPad. I said, "How long should I estimate for this to take?" He replied, "You'll just have to be patient." I said, "I've been patient. I just want to know how much time to budget." He said, "It's been a really tough morning. My assistant was attacked, beaten up, and mugged last night." I said, "Okay, but you haven't answered my question." He said, "I'm really used to dealing with people who have a positive energy. You have a really negative energy, and I don't think this appointment is going to work out." Shocked and hurt at being spoken to in such a disrespectful manner, especially since I was the one who had to wait 45 minutes for my appointment to start, I said, "So you are not willing to honor the Groupon? Especially after you were 45 minutes late, and are still delaying the process now?" He finally started to get the foils out, brush my hair, and ask me about what type of highlights I wanted. In the meantime, he called his assistant and asked, "So are you coming in to work today?" in the same tone as you would ask someone, "So are we going out to lunch today?" There was no concern in his voice for someone who had apparently, according to Dustin, just been the victim of a heinous crime. His assistant showed up 30 minutes later. He was smartly-dressed, and didn't have the slightest nick on his body. He smiled and said, "Hello!" jovially, and did not appear to have been attacked, beaten or mugged the night before. I just love being lied to by my stylist. Creates that perfect chemistry where you trust them to do right by you and your hair. My appointment was further delayed by Dustin taking various personal phone calls, buying flowers for his date that night, and chatting with other stylists in the salon who came by to shoot the breeze. Despite the delay, he still managed to cut corners, and had to apply a toner to my hair because it was too bleached. After the haircut, he hands me off to his stylist to blow dry me out. During my session, the hairdryer coughed twice, and finally bit the dust the second time, spewing out smoke as he's trying to style my hair. He had to borrow a hairdryer from a stylist in another studio. A cut, full-highlights and styling normally lasts about 2 hours. I left at 2:00 p.m., 4 full hours after my appointment was supposed to start. The whole operation, apart from the awful customer service (if you can even call it that), appears amateurish, and lacking in quality. As I'm leaving, Dustin follows me out, and says, in all seriousness, "I really hope you come back. Highlights are $95, and a cut is $50." Stunned, I didn't know whether to laugh in his face, cry or spit on him. After being treated with such disdain, I could not believe that he seriously thought that I would return to him as a customer paying full price. This man is a hateful, narcissistic bottom-feeder, and I sincerely hope other Yelpers steer clear. read more

I received only a partial hi-light and a cut which wasn't what I asked for. I returned to have the color adjusted and the full hi-light which I never received. I have never received worse customer service than from this man. 2 hours after my appointment time, and after finally losing my patience because I had to leave to meet my husband for a dinner date, Dustin said, "all I can do is apologize" He begged me to "come back next weekend, and I'll take care if you." "How exactly do you propose to take care of me?" I asked. He said, "I already know what highlights I can do. It will look gorgeous." I said I expect when I go to the hairdresser to be seen at my designated appointment time and to leave looking gorgeous. So what specifically are you going to do to take care of me that will make up for this? " "Oh," he replied, "well, then there's nothing I can do for you." On top of that, he had the audacity to charge my daughter $50 for a trim that he gave her to dry hair and took him 5 minutes after making her wait for over an hour while she waited for partial highlights. No discounts, not even 10%. The other woman in the salon had been there for 5 HOURS for highlights. They are slow as molasses and lack any modicum of decent customer service.
