Excellent service from the staff to Dr. Rowe!! Everyone is very nice and professional. The clinic is very clean and inviting.

My dentist recommend Dr. Rowe for what he said was a needed tooth extraction and don't wait. He put my on antibiotics. This was on 6/5/25. Dr. Rowe's office offered a "consult" for $203 in late July. Sorry, that is not acceptable. Oh, if you want general anesthesia, it's extra. This is a copy of their email to me: "We would have to start with a consult $203 If an x-ray is needed PA $37 or Panorex $108 Extractions can run any where between $280-$435 depending on the type of extraction. General Anesthesia $210 every 15min." I don't understand the last sentence. The way it is written suggests that you pay $210 every 15 minutes. I suppose that may not be the case, but that's a quote from them. read more

This update was a long time coming, but reflects my experience with Dr. Rowe and his staff after my initial review. I decided to continue my treatment with Dr. Rowe since my issue was never with how he treated me nor his skill as a surgeon. He did call to talk with me about my experience, and I gave him my candid response. He apologized and said he would do better. He never asked me to change my yelp review. Looking back, I think the situation that sparked my review developed because of some miscommunication with the staff and perhaps I had a bit of the grumpies that day as well. At every subsequent visit, I was treated professionally and with care by the office staff. If you absolutely need to have your wisdom teeth extracted and you're looking for an oral surgeon, Dr. Rowe is a great candidate to consider. He and his staff handled me gently and were always friendly, in addition to being forthright and helpful when it came to pricing and payment. Their office also has this really cool 360 degree x-ray machine that circles your head and instantly gives you a visual mapping of its bony interior. Neat stuff. I think one of the reasons why I feel a particular affinity for Dr. Rowe relates to the fact that he looks like my favorite bearded Doobie Brother, Michael McDonald. My mom has been nursing a crush on Michael McDonald for the last 30 years or so (she even dragged me and my sisters to a couple of his fairground performances ), so of course I was raised on the MM's work with the Doobie's and his more melancholic solo achievements. I've been a patient of Dr. Rowe's for quite awhile. He has extracted all of my upper teeth and half of the bottom. I went through 3 Oral Surgeons before I found Dr. Rowe. He is such a caring Doctor and so sensitive to your needs. I actually go to Dr. Rowe before I go to my other dentist to get his opinion before I go anywhere! The Office Manager (Tamara) and Receptionist (Kelly) are wonderful!!!! The first time I came into the office I was nervous about my procedure since I was having several teeth out at one time. I had three wisdom teeth and two molars extracted here years ago. I ended up with 3 dry sockets and called in to his office a couple of times telling them that the pain was pretty bad. They told me I was going to be fine over the phone so I held out over the weekend. I called back in again on Tuesday and they still refused to acknowledge that something may be wrong. I was taking pain meds every two hours instead of 6 and still crying, breaking down from the seriously unbearable pain. They finally saw me when I had to come in for a flushing / follow up of the extraction sites. I was tearing quietly while they flushed out the holes and the assistant said that I shouldn't be in that much pain. She called the doctor in and after examining me for a minute he determined that I had three dry sockets. He packed some organic compound into each hole and I felt better in an instant. Why didn't his office have me come in earlier? Why did they write off my calls of being in excruciating pain and why did I have to cry myself to sleep for almost a week when they could have made me feel 100% better with a quick office visit? Who knows? Maybe they didn't care enough. read more

For YEARS, my dentist has been kindly suggesting that I remove my wisdom tooth. My only one wisdom tooth and he wants me to have it removed! Whassup with that??? I come from the school of "if it ain't broke, I ain't gunna fix it!" Well, I guess it was only a matter of time when I would finally give in. I was given a referral to see Dr. Rowe. From the time I stepped in to the office, I was impressed. The office was very clean and the staff was very pleasant. You can tell they enjoyed working there! They showed me in and asked me to step over to this contraption and asked me rest my chin and look straight ahead. It turns out it was an x-ray machine. Then they asked me to step into the room right next to it, and said that Dr. Rowe would be right with me. In the meantime, they pulled up my x-ray on the huge television screen in front of me. I'm sitting there staring in fascination at my own teeth! It was COOL!!! So cool, that I even took a photo of it with my phone! = ) Dr. Rowe took a look at it and answered all my questions. Oral surgery is never a "simple procedure", but he said it would be done quickly (simple for him!!!). He didn't even look into my mouth -- the x-ray showed him what he needed to do. So I psyched myself up and reluctantly made my appointment for the extraction. Flash forward to the day of the extraction... I've had oral surgery before, but for some reason I was especially dreading it. I was somehow imagining him with one foot on my forehead trying to yank the tooth out. Seeing the patient ahead of me being wheeled out in a wheelchair didn't help, either. Perhaps it was because I had grown fond of this tooth that they were going to take out. He gave me a local anesthetic, and in less than five minutes (and a couple of wiggles), the extraction was done! No loopy juice required! (Darn! I was so looking forward to that, too!) In no time, I was on my way home. I know this sounds silly, but it was actually a very pleasant experience! I was worried about nothing. I'm so thankful that I was in good hands. Dr. Rowe is outstanding. Experience: I took my 90 year old Dad to him for evaluation and that resulted (same visit) in the removal of three teeth and then stitches. He was on time (imagine that). He was very humble and concerned about Dad asking questions that not only covered the issues but of his lifestyle as well. Dad is a memory care patient and Dr. Rowe was VERY patient with him. Wow. Just wow. Had to have two wisdom teeth extracted and was very nervous as the lower one was impacted and on it's side. Went to doctor Rowe based on other yelp reviews -- my normal dentist is by my work in Pasadena and I didn't want an oral surgeon so far from home. When I made the appointment I was told not to eat or drink anything for 8 hours prior to the appointment and to bring someone that could drive me home. I arrived at the office full of fear and met with Dr Rowe. He was very patient explaining everything to me on terms of what to expect and what he thought the risks might be since I'm 44 years old and should have had these removed 25 years ago if I had been smart! He understood my fears completely and went through every question I asked. Fortunately in my case he said he didn't think there would be much in the way of possible serious complications for either the top or bottom wisdom tooth. He told me he would put a plastic "drain" in the hole and that he also would be putting some other material at the bottom because there would be a 90 degree hole as the tooth was on its side and the material would help with healing and prevent infection. He said he drain would come out in a week but the other material would dissolve I think as the gum tissue and bone grew around it. After that we discussed pain and he did say I should expect that with the pain meds I would not feel too much pain on day one (today) or day two but that he expected some swelling and pain to arrive on days three and four before subsiding because of what he had to do to the lower tooth. We also talked about bleeding and how to use a gauze to stop the bleeding and how not to sleep with the gauze in. After the consultation I got a full quote of what my insurance would pay and what my portion would be (not too much cash outlay for me). We then went to the back and they connected a blood pressure cuff and some other stuff to monitor my heart rate and pulse. As I said I hate dentists and am really nervous normally and if I go to the dentist my normally "normal" blood pressure shoots to like 155/90 or higher. But today Dr Rowe put me at enough ease that my first reading was about 128 / 83 -- not bad for being so scared that when I walked in the office I was shaking! Dr Rowe came back in and said he was going to start an iv and I commented again how I hate needles. He said he would make sure I didn't feel it because he would put some cold stuff on my arm first to numb my arm before putting the needle in and that worked awesomely!!!!! He had me look away and then he said the needle was in and that he was taping it up so it would stay in place. He then said "I am now giving you a bit of medication" and I don't remember anything after those words until I opened my eyes and was surprised to see my driver and the nurse there talking about my after care instructions. I actually asked "we are finished?" and the nurse said "yep!" I was feeling no pain at all which shocked me, but I needed a bit of help to walk out the door to the car as I was still very groggy. They had called my prescription in ahead of time so it was waiting at the pharmacy when I got there - I was given antibiotics and two different pain meds and a special mouth wash rinse to use starting on day 2. I was told to only eat very soft cold foods on day one like apple sauce, yogurt, jello and ice cream. On second day I was told I could start eating warmer soft foods but would need to stay with soft foods like pasta for a week. No nuts, popcorn or seeds for six weeks. As I write this I'm at the end of day one and am feeling very happy I went to Dr Rowe. Everything he described has been true so far. I felt no pain in the office and today has been relaxing and not too painful. I am not looking forward to the pain and swelling he expects on day three / four but hey I will deal with it. ;) I go back in a week to have the drain removed along with the sutures. He said I would feel no pain during that process. Depending on how things look he might schedule another follow up after next week. Based on my experiences, I highly recommend Dr Rowe if you are ever in a position where you have to get a wisdom tooth extracted! In fact, I really wish I had used him when I had a molar extracted a few years ago for an implant! While that wasn't painful either during the procedure with a different dentist, they used local novocane and I had to endure the drilling noises and cracking noises as they got that tooth out. I really preferred being able to just go to sleep and wake up not knowing what went on (which surprisingly was one of my biggest fears before today). read more

Dr Rowe made me feel so comfortable in a rather uncomfortable situation. Not only was I embarrassed with the condition of my teeth, I was petrified knowing I needed to have major dental work. The staff is very friendly, and attentive. As soon as I walked through the door I felt comfortable. For example, although Dr Rowe was with other patients at the time of my arrival, he took some time to say hello and let me know the staff would be taking x-rays and that he would see me after. I was instantly happy with my decision to see Dr Rowe. The consult was very detailed and left me with little questions (and I'm the QUEEN of questions). The surgery was quick and was not painful at at all. I just felt a little sore. :) I guarantee you will not be disappointed :) read more

I was in alot of pain and I had to have a tooth removed by Dr. Rowe, first of all the office is a beautiful state of the art facility, it was the best experience I have every had with any Dentist, I was made to feel comfortable from the moment I walked into the office by the staff and Dr. Rowe himself, he has a very kind and gentle personality which made me feel comfortable right away. The surgery was so quick and painless, it seemed like I sat down in the chair, woke up 5 min later and I was done with no anxiety or fear that I would have normally had. Got a referral for Dr. Rowe, DDS. Called to make a consultation appointment. Lady answering the phone was extremely rude. Not friendly at all. Told me there were no appointment until mid-Nov, over 3 months away. Tried to ask some questions but she acted like she had to time to answering them. They tell you mid-Nov because they figure that will get rid of you. She should of just said, "Why are you calling here, we can't help you." I will definitely let my referring dentist know not to refer this guy anymore and how rude they are. Avoid this dentist. read more

I chose to go to Dr.Rowe because of all the positive reviews I saw on yelp and I'm glad to say I was not disappointed in the least! I was very nervous to be put under and have 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed, however the very detailed consultation previous to the surgery put me at ease and they answered every question and concern I had. The surgery went so well I didn't have to take anything more than Motrin and a little toughening up! Haha I had two post op appointments, 1 to have the drainage tubes and stitches removed and the other just to make sure I was irrigating the holes properly. OUTSTANDING to say the least, Dr. Rowe operated on my mother recently and he made her feel so comfortable. He was very detailed in all that he explained to both of us. Over the past several years, my regular dentists have referred me to Dr. Rowe for the hard stuff that only an oral surgeon is really prepared to do. Some of these visits were routine, and some were extraordinarily complicated. Dr. Rowe handled them all flawlessly. I must say that Dr. Rowe has some of the most sophisticated technology in his office that I've ever seen. However, I'm not trying to be impressed with technology. I'm trying to get an affordable implant. Dr. Rowe (unfortunately) is not the one for affordability. At $4,000 for one implant, he is on the high side (someone has got to pay for the technology). Since I did not work with him, I am unsure of his skill. He may actually know his craft well. But, I'm not willing to pay the price of admission. So, I'd have to say that you should look for someone more affordable (unless you've got money to burn: see my review of ADHP). read more

Dr Rowe was referred for Oral Surgery by my regular dentist of 27 years. I recommend his services. I needed a molar extracted and second opinion for implant of a damaged front tooth. The design of the office is more like a day spa. The staff was attentive and prepared me for the procedure. The full X-Ray was taken on state of the art equipment and the Dr explained the details of the extraction and described the benefits and the risk of the procedure. He showed me where a sinus infection was directly above the bad tooth. He said this would be reviewed during the extraction to determine its impact on the eventual implant. It was explained that I would be given an iv and would be groggy after and that he wrote me a prescription for pain and antibiotics. After the surgery, I was driven to pharmacy to pick up meds and went home. I felt no pain or discomfort and thought it was because I was still medicated. I had a liquid meal for lunch and had a full meal at dinner. The next morning was same, no pain, no discomfort. I called Dr. Rowe to tell him and he told me about the infected tissue he removed from the sinus infection. I talked with my regular Physician and he wants me to do blood work to see if this affects the mild anemic condition he had been treating. Who knew the teeth can diagnose other medical conditions? I recommend the professional care for my surgery and appreciate the Job Well Done.. read more

Dr. Rowe is exceptional! I have been to many oral surgeons over the years for either root canals or wisdom teeth and dreaded the pain, swelling, or fogginess I remembered. I was referred to Dr. Rowe for an implant after my crown fell off last year and there was no bone left to adhere it to. He explained everything in detail, all the steps were laid out, and he reviews your x-rays on a high-tech screen, precisely measuring the best angle of entry, etc. You will be in very good hands!! The extraction and grafting last January were amazingly pain-free and non-eventful. No swelling, no pain, no bleeding. The entire event was under an hour, I was put under, and was fitted with my "flipper" in the same appointment (actually my dentist ordered the flipper, but it was delivered to Dr. Rowe for placement at this appt). Last week, I was put under again for the placement of the post into the new bone, and again, no pain, no swelling, no bleeding. Amazing. He himself inserts the IV into your arm with anesthesia, and you wake up 45 minutes later in the same chair as if one minute had passed. I took 2 days off from work, but really I could have gone back same day! My only negative (on implants) would be that there are a lot of follow-up appointments, and the entire process is over a YEAR from start to finish!! You need to wait for healing to occur before moving on to next steps. I highly recommend getting a flipper (a retainer with a false tooth) for about $500 - no hillbilly smile while you wait a year .-) If you need an implant, go with Dr. Rowe! read more

this review is based on my wisdom teeth extraction ..... i was very scared to be put to sleep veryyyy scared so they took me back the staff is really nice 3 girls started hooking me up , after they were done dr. rowe came in told me he was gunna give me an iv and give me meds to relax me and after that the only thing i remember was they really are relaxing me haha.... i was out altho i dont remember waking up in the office i remember waking up in the car , for about a week i took the motrin 800s and only twice the bigger pain pills it wasnt horrible pain.... i had a drain put in one came back in a week they removed my drain and cleaned it out ahhh relief .... the drain was starting to hurt then i cleaned them for another week and came back for another check up everything was good . was scared for nothing shoulda got them out 5 year ago like i was suppose too !!!! read more

Dr. Rowe did an implant of a molar for me. I felt very comfortable before the procedure and I healed very well. A different oral surgeon had done the emergency tooth extraction and I felt very UNcomfortable with that surgeon. I was shaking like a leaf with her. Dr. Rowe was truly excellent. I was referred to Dr. Rowe by my dentist to help me with implants. Unfortunately, the bone structure in my gums was too weak to hold the implants. Dr. Rowe took a year to build up the bone structure, mount the implants, and create a whole new smile. He is simply the best oral surgeon you could find. In addition to his professionalism, his staff are the most friendly and delightful people and they make the entire office atmosphere a wonderful place. My children have had several procedures at this office, but I have very mixed feelings. From the perspective of dental care, I think Dr. Rowe is fine. The work has been done acceptably and the children have been comfortable. But both Dr. Rowe and his office seem inclined to do extra work and collect extra payments whenever possible. One child's orthodontist referred us to have an extraction done. Dr. Rowe did the extraction but tried to convince us to have him do additional work that was already part of the orthodontics package with the other provider. Why would we pay him to do work that we are already paying someone else to do? He also strongly recommended an additional procedure, which we declined and caused both the orthodontist and the regular dentist to chuckle and shake their heads when we discussed it with them. For another child, mysterious extra charges appeared. I do have insurance, but I pay attention to the claims. While I do understand that insurance billing is difficult for everyone involved, I am uncomfortable with a provider that submits extra billing codes for profit. read more

Dr. Rowe and his staff are very efficient, caring and professional. I had to have a cracked lower molar removed. My biggest concern was pain during and after the proceedure. I was very comfortable during the entire proceedure and had little to no pain following. The follow-up appointment took 10 minutes. Unheard of. I'm used to usually waiting for up to 30 minutes for medical appointments on the average - Not here. Highly Recommend. They have very high tech equipment. If you're looking for one of the best, come here. If you're looking for a cheap job, go elsewhere. His prices are fair for the quality he provides. read more
